  1. Average compared to whom? Yates? Then I would agree. But that is a senior-laden group who play very well together. Can they compete with the big bad Lions? Likely no. But they also draw from a population base of 8k compared to 2.3 million. That’s right, you have roughly 287 times the population base of Bridge City from which to recruit. I understand it has been a down year recruiting for Coach Wise but your student body of athletes is still one any coach down here would salivate for. So when you denigrate a team by calling it average, just remember you are the 21 year old playing in the park with middle schoolers. Congratulations I guess??
  2. I agree but they took Hightower to the wire twice which has Bryce Griggs (the one kid in the region who I put with Arceneaux). United plays well, they win. If they don’t, Foster could upset them. That’s all I’m saying.
  3. I agree but have to win some to get there. This next one, they have to be ready to play. Chancellor White is a bucket and 6-8 A&M OL signee Reuben “Deuce” Fatheree gave the 6-9 kid from Hightower the business the last time they played. United is deeper and more talented overall but needs to bring A game for this one.
  4. Was it from that BS that happened at the end of the Huffman game?
  5. I couldn’t remember for sure. Thanks for the correction.
  6. Off an inbound by the scorer table. Beautifully drawn up play driving to the hoop. I think it was Holifield.
  7. I think 5-1. But that is not official. I think Arceneaux had 4 and Porshia had 1. T’wolves easily had biggest and best fan support of the four schools I watched today. Foster will be a tricky matchup we they have an elite guard and big. They took Hightower to OT this season in one game and lost by 4 the other time they played. One game at a time and United will be fine though.
  8. WB 58 Dobie 56 F Bruins advance! And lest anyone is wondering, Boutte still has it.
  9. Tie game at 56 12.1 seconds left. WB ball
  10. Only been at Sterling for 4 hours before a basketball game finally broke out.
  11. Same score 31.4 secs. Timeout Dobie with the ball.
  12. 56-54 WB 1:08. Turnover Bruins
  13. 3 ball by Damian Garcia, steal by Garcia and hits another three pointer. Timeout on the floor WB 54-52, 1:57 left.
  14. Wb leads 52-46 3:05 left in 4th
  15. Me too - still thought they had a good chance going into playoffs. Never know with this game.
  16. Been telling people #23 was the best player in the county since before the season started. People who only look at points scored get confused. But that kid is a gym rat that can flat out play and makes his teammates better. Congrats Cards!
  17. Man among boys out there. Makes it look so dang easy too.
  18. 42-19 4 mins left in 2nd Dunkometer is 4 or 5 to 0.
  19. Nvm. I see where they switched gyms.
  20. I think the only egregious part is that he lied about it. Just stand your ground and say you decided to take advantage of a rare occasion to spend time with your wife and kids. That you are a husband and a father before a Senator. And that you plan to do everything you can do to assist the people in Texas who are actually tasked with these decisions. But apparently he panicked and went another way initially. I know these guys have advisors and many are apparently terrible. Not that anyone should have to be “advised” to tell the truth. I don’t know why I would expect different from politicians. They are like children who will run a mile around the easy truth to tell a ridiculous lie.
  21. Sahvir doesn’t and he has been the starting PG for UGA the last two years. And I would argue that Bush’s ball handling and ability to shoot the basketball had much more to do with his success than his vertical. But I get your point and winced at comparing him to those guys to begin with. Just a reference point on size. To compare almost anyone to Braelon is heresy to be honest. He’s was as good as I’ve ever seen in high school.
