That’s because the UiL let’s the districts police themselves. That’s why Lancaster can have 2 in-season move ins immediately eligible to play and HF can have a kid who has lived in the district several years switch from a private school to his zoned public school and not be allowed to play. Makes no sense? You got it. And @SportsJunkie32 is right. Yates isn’t doing anything those guys up in DFW haven’t been doing for years. They create a couple of super teams per division and take them to SA with sweeps on their minds. JY (and some others) is simply fighting fire with fire.

Meh, the majority of the people talk WOS football. But you are correct that Silsbee has long dominated the conversation on this board. But those two are also the Gold Standard in their respective sports. Comes with that territory. Beaumont United also gets a lot of discussion since it’s formation and the combining of the two best big school programs in the Triangle. We’ve seen some long Lumberton threads too. Start winning and people are going to talk about you.

Correct. We can only assume GCM made up for the 2 dunk disparity in SMRJs. -

I think there’s a lot of moving in Mid-County. My understanding is Roschon from PNG was originally a Port Arthur kid. There certainly could be a multitude of reasons a family might want to move to a particular school district or another. -

Virtually unheard of 😉 GCM must have been killing with the SMRJs. -

Completely agree. They are both high major kids. And both would be the number one ranked kid in their respective classes (and were) in the greater Houston area but for Griggs moving back. I wouldn’t bet against either one of them eventually making money playing this game. Speaking of, TJ Atwood had a 50 piece the other night playing in Malta. -

I will say it again. United doesn’t bring their A game on Wednesday, they won’t make it to Griggs and Co. Foster is NOT a team to be trifled with. -
I’m with you. The middle paragraph especially. Well, the third too for that matter. I must admit I laughed when I read the title of your thread. Not that it was funny and I think it’s a great idea and maybe something that should be required in DC. But because it reminded me of the classic Gomer Pyle line from the Andy Griffith show - “For a fat girl you sure don’t sweat much!” I think that’s the kind of “compliments” we should expect here 😂

I haven’t been able to find that info either. I can share that I have been to a West Brook home game this season and tickets were sold at the gate.

Look his team whose coach you don’t care for is eliminated. You just make sure if you guys get Huffman, your Lions let them know “karma is a B.” Tell Wise when they hit a hundred, hit that gas even harder. They are all below average compared to JY. -

No - that’s why I said carry on. You are entitled to continue to beat an irrelevant horse and confuse an objective discussion with a subjective one. It is completely your right to do so on this message board. -

Gotcha. I had a similar situation a couple of years ago where a very well respected local coach was playing puppet master with another school to try and keep my kid from playing. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t realize I had known a couple of superintendents in that district most of my life. So we were lucky and it didn’t end well for those trying to improve their team’s chances by doing a kid dirty. -

Hold on, I thought HJ voted to allow your kid to play? Am I incorrect? -

Those two agreeing couldn’t shock me less. 😂 But I guess an average team beat another average team, neither of which deserved to be in the playoffs. We got it now. -

Has nothing to do with being old school or not. It either equals or betters the previous top accomplishment, or it doesn’t. It’s by definition, not opinion. -
They ain’t worried about HF. They’ve already moved on to Yates. (Some of the fans, that is. I’m sure Sigler is taking HF very seriously and doing everything he can to keep the kids focused.)

If that’s never been bettered, then by its very definition, yes. It was only the second playoff win in school history I believe. Has nothing to do with being loose with terminology - it was a historic win for the school. -

I get it. You don’t like HJ or their coach based on comments last year. But while digging at them, you kind of insulted the team that beat them. Obviously Yates is below average if you compare them to Duncanville (who beat the brakes off of them) or even a United or Hightower team who would likely beat the brakes off of the Lions. I generally don’t have a problem with Yates. I will root for them against one team in particular in the region, and will always root for them against any team from the Metroplex. -

I’m sure you would like to give the population thing a rest. Just like the 21 year old likes to shave before he goes to school the 12 year olds. I think this BC team has much to be proud of. They are as good a team as I remember them having in a long, long time. So while they aren’t on a Yates’ standard and don’t need 3 rows of chairs to complete a 27 player bench, I wouldn’t call them average. I would call them a good group of young men who play extremely well together. And a team that just achieved a major win for their program. -

Well dang. Good season Mustangs. Much to build on for Coach Wilson and crew. Now let’s go Brookshire Royal (and whatever your mascot is)!
