Was a great game too. One of the better ones I’ve been to. Other than some pretty poor officiating (it was bad for both teams and I’m usually pleased with Southland officiating - this game drew 2 of the worst ones in the conference), I thought the game was really well played. Both teams played a very clean, high level game.

And two clutch 3s. And Kasen Harrison got an offensive rebound at the end of 2nd OT that was just all guts. They’ve been right there all year and just haven’t been able to close. It’s like that sometimes with young teams. And yes, this Covid schedule is all messed up. In fact, I think Lamar was ONLY team in conference that had to play SFA, Abilene, Nicholls, AND Sam. In fact, they played each of them twice. Those who are only casually following don’t realize that the Southland has 4 teams logjammed at the top (those 4) who are all very, very good. It’s the first time I can remember in a while you had that many teams in this conference at that level. Usually 1 or 2. So as it worked out, HALF of Lamar’s conference games were against those 4.

Lamar wins 88-83 in double OT. Big win for a team with almost everyone coming back.

Headed to double OT tied at 79. Lamar has been right there with the best teams in this conference. Need to close one.

Did Manvel control pace? If so, great job. Definitely their best chance to win was keep it slowed down and score low. Nevertheless, great job BU. Just win baby.

Yeah they are ranked #7 in state. Not a cupcake game. But I’m with you - I think United pulls away eventually.

I worry with young teams especially. But they should be considerably better than Wharton and those 15 year old legs respond a lot better and faster than we give them credit. Come out and play hard and hopefully they will be fine. But man you’re right - that’s a huge emotional win tonight they have to immediately put behind them and refocus.

I haven’t seen him in several months. He certainly could have grown. Saw some clips from this season but sometimes tough to gauge from those.

Yeah but he’s a football guy. I’m telling you, on the basketball board, Boneyard is top notch. He’s the Marv Albert of SETX sports posting (although I’m not sure if he bites people).
