This is pretty funny too

That’s my assumption as well but a better statement would be something along the lines of “this is not a UiL or school sanctioned event but we at the district support and are so proud of our students.” And even better, “we appreciate our communities support (financial and otherwise) of our students as they have represented our school with such distinction.” Just my 2 cents.

My wife’s been upset with certain “developments” for years now.

I think it was just north of 60 inches in some areas in mid county. More than 50 in other parts of our area. Prior to that, and the subsequent Imelda though, I thought of Tropical Storms as just that....storms.
-
Do you guys remember the days when if it was merely a tropical storm headed our way, nobody blinked? I do but probably because that was less than 5 years ago. What the heck happened?
-
That’s what I understand as well. Apparently the schnaz is the main thing that should be covered.
-
I can’t remember if it was here or Locker Room. Much higher traffic here though.

Look at that - in the end, we agree on the end result. Under Texas law, it would fall, in my opinion, between either manslaughter or criminally negligent homicide. So while we disagree on how we get there, we agree on what the final outcome should be. God bless America and SETX sports 😁

So you finally realized your ridiculous assertion that all they did was watch a video was incorrect. Keep reading sport...you might learn something yet.

“The findings by the family’s private medical examiners directly contradict the report that there was no asphyxia, said Dr. Allecia M. Wilson, of the University of Michigan, one of the doctors who examined his body. The physical evidence showed that the pressure applied led to his death, she said. In an interview, Dr. Michael Baden, who also participated in the private autopsy, said there was also some hemorrhaging around the right carotid area.” Again, just because you keep saying all the independent MEs did was watch a cell phone video does not make it true. In fact, that is patently false. I don’t expect you to know the difference between a physical examination without having access to tissue samples and watching a video.
-
Hold up, the job is going to remain Ehlinger’s for the fourth year in a row??? That’s crazy...
-
It was as contradictory as the quoted post is. The initial ME was as hacky as one might expect from a play doctor. Albeit one who had the full benefit of a physical exam that the real doctor did not. If you didn’t find anything of merit in Baden’s, methinks you are rooting for a certain outcome that is contrary to what you claim.

I understand your opinion. And I would further assume because you disagree with his assessment in that case and believe he purposefully lied, you would not trust his opinion in any case. Fair enough. I have used the same argument against many cops who were caught “lying” (under oath) over the years. That doesn’t change the fact that Baden might be the most respected forensic pathologist in the world. There’s a reason he’s called into most high profile cases. He was the one who opined recently that Jeffrey Epstein was murdered and did not commit suicide after performing an independent ME. (And when I read his report and his medical conclusions, I tend to agree with him.). And as someone who has performed over 20,000 autopsies, again, his opinion is going to carry more weight with most than your typical coroner. And it would certainly carry more weight than the opinion of a lawyer or a cop as to the medical cause of death.
-
Thanks for pointing out he is 40 years removed from when he held a similar position as the county ME in Hennipan County (although I would imagine it’s a tougher gig to get in NY than Minnesota). That’s a great point. And because a high profile attorney chooses to hire the best in the biz? The shame! Again, I’m sorry the evidence may not support the black dude deserved it (and the cop was simply mentally retarded) but you may have to live with that fact. Ultimately, no one is going to be asking you (or me, for that matter), to consider any evidence.
-
He’s a hired expert but to say he will just say whatever you want him to say? Some would say the same thing about cops and prosecutors. I wouldn’t. Bottom line: you guys take the hump County ME and I will take Baden. I like my chances in court. A LOT.
-
Do you draw from not having tissue samples that they just watched the video?
-
It appeared some of you were really excited the Hennipan County Medical Examiner’s preliminary findings seemed to support a cause of death other than the officer’s excessive force. What many of you probably don’t know is often times a county coroner is not even a medical doctor. What I can tell you is this - doctor or not, whatever hump is the medical examiner in this Minnesota county, his qualifications and expertise will assuredly pale in comparison to Dr. Michael Baden, one of the independent ME’s in this case. He is one of, if not THE most respected in the world in this field. Sorry if anyone’s bubble was bursted.

So are we just going to ignore this? [Hidden Content]

I wasn’t commenting on the NAACP not supporting him. I was saying that he has made a fool out of anyone who championed his cause. May be the worst justice that has ever disgraced a robe (I can’t think of anyone worse). He has cornered the market on incompetence and laziness. But thanks to the color of his skin, he did achieve the pinnacle of his profession. So good on the NAACP and anyone else who didn’t support his nomination. And shame on the hypocrites who oppose affirmative action yet do support him. And not to derail this thread, but my view of Comatose Clarence has nothing to do with his philosophical beliefs. I appreciate any justice who is bright, thoughtful and hardworking. Justice Scalia, who was as conservative a justice as the high court has seen, was one of the greatest justices the Court has ever seen. He was brilliant and a workhorse. His best friend, RBG, although on the other end of the political spectrum, will be remembered as one of the best as well (and Scalia would be the first to tell you how much he respected her). But when Thomas replaced Thurgood Marshall on the Court, it was akin to the Lakers replacing Lebron James with Kevin James.
-
The lack of support for Clarence Thomas was well founded by all opponents. If ever there was a case of affirmative action (giving someone a position based solely on skin color), it’s Thomas. He should be the poster child. And he has spent the last almost 30 years proving his naysayers right. I will say that he maybe the GOAT at napping on the bench. He’s definitely the GOAT at almost never asking a question.

I feel the same way. And it’s one of the main reasons I am so high on Crenshaw.
