1. This was a GREAT experience for the players, coaches, and our communities.  It was a lot of fun watching our kids play at Minute Maid and an experience that 99.999999% of them will never get to do again.  There were memories forged Saturday that these kids will not forget for the rest of their lives and I can imagine some will be passing those memories on to their grandchildren while watching an Astros game on TV.  A great game at a great ballpark between two great teams, like I said, it was a lot of fun.  Good luck to both teams in the playoffs, I fully expect to see one of the two representing our district in Austin as I believe both teams have what it takes to get out of this region.  Go Tigers and Bulldogs!

2. West Sabine had some very disrespectful fans at one point the Colmesneil catcher let a ball get by him and I heard a person right up from me tell him he sucked.

Come on now, no sour grapes please.  I did not hear anything like that.  WS had approximately 300 in attendance and from what I could tell Colmesneil had somewhere between 200-225 which means that together we had roughly the same attendance as the Astros had for their games at the end of last season!!  ZING!!  ....................  Seriously though, with that many present I would not doubt that there may have been a few boneheads there that may have made some off color remarks but I'm sure it went both ways and you can't label an entire school district over the acts of 1 bonehead!  I do appologize on behalf of our community if something was said.  It does not represent us all.

3. West Sabine is hitting the ball much better and throughout the line-up compared to where they were in the match up earlier this season but I am sure that the Bulldogs are playing better also.  I think it will be another nail biter but I see WS winning this go around.  Either way it will be a lot of fun.

BTW, Coach Kevin "Little Jimmy Harbaugh" Lane would LOVE to wear his helmet on the field!!!

4. Just curious to see if anybody from SETXSPORTS was fishing this tournament or attending the festivities? It is hosted on Lake Sam Rayburn at the Humphrey Family Pavilion April 25th-27th. It is the worlds largest amatuer bass tournament with the world's largest payout. There is a guaranteed payout of over $1 Million dollars. One fish alone (the largest of the tournament) will be worth over a quarter of a million dollars. If you're not familiar with this tournament it is not a stringer tournament where you weigh in 5 fish for the heaviest 5 fish weight, it is a big bass tournament. One fish will make money! Each day at the tournament weigh in site there will be FREE live concerts featuring country music artists Josh Turner, Chris Young, and more. I'm going, it will be much fun!
5. Just wanted to give a thumbs up to the West Sabine boys track team, more specifically the relay teams. The West Sabine boys varsity relay teams have yet to be beaten in ANY relay winning them all by a large margin. For those thinking that West Sabine is graduating it's talent this year please keep in mind that in all the relays they are running, each runner is a football player and only one member of all the relay runners is a senior. So far our relay teams have beaten traditionally blazing fast teams such as San Augustine and Teneha just to name a couple. Good job guys!
6. It was a good win for Colmesneil. I really enjoy the friendly rivalry that we have established. It kind of reminds me of WS and SA in football. We want to beat the other worse than anybody else but are rooting for the other when they are playing anybody else. Good neighbors!

WS had better start hitting the ball, defensively there is not a better team than WS but putting the bat on the ball is KILLING them. If/when the bats come around look out WS will make a run! Hopefully that is before we all meet up in Houston!
7. As of last week WS had been bumped to 10th in state behind Evadale at #9 because of two early losses to Evadale. However in the first loss WS was missing 4 starters due to basketball playoffs and in the second game those 4 starters were there but had only seen a baseball for two days at that point. They really are fairly evenly matched teams but I do see WS edging them if they were to meet later in the playoffs.

Colmesneil was at either #12 or #13 in the polls.
8. It should have been the schedule we played this year. Even in 2012. But we play with the hand we're dealt. I'm not expecting a 10-0 season and I don't think anyone else is. What I expect to see, is that we shock a couple teams and come out with a minimum of a 5-5 record. To me, easy wins are EC, Warren, Kirbyville, Woodville, Hemphill, and depends on WS and Crockett. I don't know what they have coming back.

In all honesty of the 7 "easy wins" teams you listed I would predict DV to go 2-5 with wins against Warren and Hemphill.  IMO

9. When did Huntington have more numbers than teams they have played? They did had to scrap the freshman team the last two years. They are playing some smaller schools next year and you will be suprised at what happens. Huntington has a strong Jr class and a small but talented Sr class. Put me on the record now that Huntington will finish with their first non-losing record (5-5 or 6-4) in school history next year.

Enrollment numbers is what I was reffering to.  Really, I didnt mean any disrespect to Huntington, just using them as an example which I probably should not have done.  Huntington has struggled as bad as anybody in football for some time and I do hope that you are correct in your statement regarding them having a successful season.  I know that they have had a stellar softball program for many years and they are traditionally good in baseball.  Believe it or not, I do pull for Huntington every year.  I appologize to any Huntington folks that may read this, my original post was a lapse in judgement.

10. I believe that 3A, now 4A, Huntington gets beat like a drum by 1A-2A schools every year!  SA out athletes many, many schools in the larger classifications (this years 2A and 3A or next years 3A/4A) every year.  There will be SEVERAL 4A D2 teams that 2A D1 San Augustine can play with or even beat, not saying Splendora is one of them just saying that there are some small schools that can compete with and beat the larger schools.  More numbers does not always win games, ask the Huntington coaches over the last several decades.  Sorry Huntington, very nice town!

Kountze, Deweyville, Groveton are certain losses. But based on the typical HD schedule they should get their normal 7-3 season and complimentary 1st round/game exit.

Deweyville and Groveton are losses for sure.  Of course they make they playoffs in that crackerjack district they are in.  Early exit.
San Augustine I hope we run into your soft team this season, HD will attack yall like a Lion on a wounded deer. Gonna suck having a losing season in a new stadium. Pray yall don't meet the HD Bobcats this season. Oh and if HD moved to your district, they would make the playoffs there every year.   ;) ;D  HD Nation!
I have no hate or ill will for HD, but surely you are kidding, right?  HD would struggle every year in 10-1A, it's a different beast than what yall are used to!!
