  1. Wow, I never had a good feeling about either of them. No player development. All athleticism, no discipline(which was obvious with all the false starts the past 3 yrs) the younger teams suffered the worse. That's your future SMH I'm done
  2. Hire a Soccer Guy/Woman heck he/she couldn't do any worse than the last few hires. SMH
  3. Taking a moment to Honor All who served in our Military. Thank You
  4. That youngster will be up for the challenge. He definitely has the Confidence of a good RB. So what's up with all this speed in PA?? Seems to always be an abundance, will this equate to a Victory over my Panthers & the rest of 22-5A ??
  5. Lol Soulja's boy will be alright. Tote that rock
  6. No, my next is 11 yrs old. He has been attending the summer basketball @ Ozen since the age of 2. He will be there shortly. Lol Football & Basketball
  7. We've been missing the extra butter. I've been off the site myself, so I didn't notice you were gone. Sure glad you're back. PA SUX!!! (now you're really back) Lol look forward to the debates & convo my friend. Welcome to the District PA
  8. What's up Buddy!!!! I haven't been on here much either. I haven't been stirring any pots lately. Lol
  9. I haven't posted for awhile because I don't have a dog in the fight anymore. How can we ask a kid to Honor any commitment if these Coaches are allowed full range, but yet have the ability to hold kids hostage or leave them in dire situations like this?? Every opportunity I get I tell kids/families my son's saga at Ozen; not out of spite, but for encouragement. The numerous Coaches, disrespect, lies etc.. But God is still on the Throne. My advice is and always will be to Train hard, don't get ready, be ready for any and everything. Favoritism and politics are real, the only thing you can control is your attitude and yourself. Feel bad for the kids, so glad I didn't have to deal with this sort of crap when I was chasing dreams. BISD has to do better in the classroom first, then everything else will follow suit.
  10. My son is a football player for Lamar now, but back when I first started my young 4th grade Team many laughed & teased us, but not Coach Boutte. He treated my Team like they were the Best in the City. We truly appreciated that. Nobody is laughing at Rodney anymore. Thanks for the continued support & encouragement Coach. I guess my young team will be playing in Ozen & West Brook gyms.
  11. That's such good news for that hardworking young man. Was a pleasure to watch him play. God Bless him & his family
  12. Neither team ran an offense Brady. Come on man!!! Lol
  13. The game I watched showed 2 Teams not running any half court sets. This was a run & gun show from the start. I'm disappointed that the refs allowed so much contact during this game. I've seen less contact in the NBA. Also refs needed to identify with who traveled & charge calls. I was very impressed with the fight Silsbee showed, if they would have taken the lead on a couple of those shots towards the end it may have been different. I've said in once & I'll say it again, you can't only play uptempo ball, must be able to score in half court sets, but we have so many individualized teams today compiled with this "I'm gonna get mine" summer ball, Team ball is seldom taught. I told my Wife before this game started, both teams would have 20 TO's. I was close on that one. Silsbee has great individual talent & can run with the Best, but what are you gonna do when you face a Team with similar style of play and athletes also? Not a question to single out any team, just a serious question. Can you adjust? Praying the young man has a great recovery from his injury. I've followed his game for years, definitely has a quality about him you can't teach. Good Luck Tigers, from what I hear, we will see you in SA again soon.
  14. Come on Panthers!!! keep those updates coming fellas
  15. Very good program, I've played them in the summer time. That team pushes the tempo, but will set up the half court offense when needed.
  16. Well, you must be watching some poorly developed programs. Tempo can change in an instant, depends on who initiates it, If a team decides they want to run or slow it up, the opposing team has to make the adjustment or dictate their own. It's about matchups, a chess match. Summer basketball has turned into one- on- one watch me do my thang run up and down the floor B.S. which filters into the HS setting. Give me a team any day that can run a half court set & get out & run when necessary, & I'll show you a successful program. Again, JMO
  17. Actually, they are both in the same. If you think about it, teams that are able to adapt to other styles of basketball when they can't force their "will" on other teams are your more successful programs. When the game doesn't go to plan, can you adapt & make adjustments. Recipe for Championship pedigree. JMO
  18. Silsbee Tigers 1989 Lost to PA Lincoln @ McDonald's Gym on Lamar Campus. One of the toughest games I've ever played. They actually beat us in the annual TJ Classic which set the stage for this epic playoff game. I truly believe Silsbee would have won a Title that year. We competed against those guys in Middle School also, we had a 6 yr intense rivalry going. Lol Good luck & God Bless Tigers
  19. I haven't seen Big Sandy this year, but they are Tough Finest. I'll say this, you will get a chance to see where your Team needs to improve by playing them. If you get a chance, go see them. I believe Big Sandy has a chance against the Big Guns early in the Season, once an identity is established I think they will struggle. JMO
