  1. Silsbee has a very good team, their starting 5 can play with anyone in the state. The problem is when you have to go to the bench. Yates buys extra minutes with their quality bench. Those guys could start on many teams, that's the difference. They can be beat, yes Silsbee can do it, but they must play darn near flawless & Yates has to play subpar to even have a chance. JMO Good luck Tigers, it all starts with belief. I hope the players are as confident as the fans on the site. If so, Yates will be in for a long night. Must believe. Mighty Bumblebees
  2. Thanks Soulja, my boy attends Ozen, but I frequent all BISD sports to support our future. I know most of these kids personally before they became Lil Stars. We've been competing against each other since Elementary in various sports. My how the time flies, very proud of all of our kids.
  3. Good season Jags. Not quite what everyone expected, but good job anyway. I hope all Jags fans who want the Coach fired realize that sometimes your team doesn't match up well with others & all this talk about a State title was premature. It's not easy to win a title, but your Jags certainly have the talent. Unfortunately, talent alone doesn't get it done. Look at Yates last year, full of talent, but didn't win it all. You guys have a lot of promise over there and it wouldn't surprise me if you won a Title in the next 2 years, but it won't be as easy as many on these forums think. It all starts in the off season. How bad do the Jags want it. You can play all the AAU ball you want, but if you're not getting in the individual work, you are kidding yourselves. Look forward to seeing your progress. Good luck, God Bless
  4. Understand, I assume you meant Hebert. I know the great history of the school. My son currently attends Ozen. You say you know me, well if so you know I'll rep the Bees 24-7. Lol Good talking to you guys on here. Like I said to everyone, no disrespect. Mighty Bumblebees
  5. Buna and any other program that has a pedigree for winning championships. no disrespect to the district titles, just sick of reading posts of guys talking dominance for winning district. Although district winning is a great feat. Snook also had great runs back in the day.  But i still would like to see a program continue to win State titles with 3 different coaches in cosecutive years. I'm still amazed. Mighty Bumblebees
  6. your name says it all  2cents  you are one of the retards i'm speaking of running your mouth on these forums. don't know if you have any cred to back up your statements, but I do. check the UIL records. And yes I did say Mighty Bumblebees, cuz none of these programs come close. Maybe if you combine them all, maybe they could get a win. Talk to me when you earn the other  $0.98 to make a "whole" lotta sense Buddy. LOL @ that. By the way, enjoy your day Mighty Bumblebees
  7. Thanks Solo, I failed to mention on those 3 State apperances from 88-90, I had 3 different Coaches. Now tell me of ant school in the Nation fro then to now who has accomplished this feat. PA Lincoln was & always will be the measuring stick of all programs IMO. In 1990 we were the #1 team in 4a. We lost to unknown Boerne in the Semis in Austin on Thurs night. Coach Boutte's first year at the helm. Now is it fair to blaim the Coach?  Coach Brown has done a great job with the Ozen program. Does this early loss take away from her success? I dont think so. People don't understand how being an unknown makes things easier, but once you are State ranked, lesser teams play their best, so you must dig deeper to maintain your position at the top. PA Lincoln did this as well as any program i've ever known. I hear these guys on here talking dominance after winning petty district championships, PLEASE these petty district championships are being challenged by Nederland (no disrespect to Nederland) but come on guys give me a break. Like I said earlier, from 88-91, 3 state titles,  3 different Head Coaches.  Now that's a program, legacy, dominance, excellence, whatever you chooses to call it... As long as you recognize GREATNESS. I dare any of these guys on these forums to hate on this..... Quiet on the set!!!!  Like I thought. Please don't be offended, just stating facts to the guys who like to shoot their mouths off about district titles.  Need to wake up and get real.  Win State titles then shoot off, but do so in a respectful manner because you may be in the presence of a PA Bumblebee.  Have a good day & a better Season Mighty Bumblebees
  8. I was blessed to be a part of 3 State teams 88-90 PA Lincoln. We won back to back titles, but 90 my senior year we lost in State. I know how these ladies feel right now. Nothing can take away the pain, but time heals all wounds. Our 88 State team will be honored in Austin in a few weeks, but that loss in 90 still stings a little. Hats off to the Seniors, you had a good ride. Underclassman, take notice. Remember this feeling & have your butts in the gym this summer working on your game together. AAU is fine, but at some point you have to work on your weaknesses, I don't think you will do that in an AAU game. You must concentrate and enhance your game. Only countless hours of individual work will get that done. Good season & God Bless the Seniors on future endeavors. Mighty Bumblebees
  9. I won't disagree with any statements on here, but the one thing I havent seen mentioned on here is Caring for the Kids. Having a genuine interest in the development of Men. You can have all the credentials, skins on the wall etc. you want, but if you don't care about anything but your won/loss record it will show. The new Coach needs to develop a program & will need a little time get it done. Central is no way in a position for anyone to feel sorry for them. There is an abundance of talent there, so the turnaround shouldnt take long if the Coach instills discipline. JMO
  10. 3 up & coming Sophs, will be Jr's next season to keep an eye on @ Ozen  Rodney Randle Jr #25 RB Jalen Brown #10 QB, & Ennis Harmon Lineman. The latter two played JV this season, Randle Jr Started @ WR GO Panthers!!!!
  11. Heck of a job Dogs!!! I owe you guys an apology. Very fundamental team, a joy to watch
  12. Nederland didn't shoot well from the field or free throw line against Ozen, are they still struggling? Not a typical night for the Dogs
  13. s the stall game in effect for both squads? Or are they both playing not to lose?
  14. I may be eating crow LOL  I can admit it if I'm wrong.  I may be way wrong
  15. I agree Ram about athletes don't always win, but please dont base the OT game @ Nederland as proof for a close game. Central should push the ball, man up on defense, crash the boards and it's a rap. Love Nederland, but they should be outta their league. English may work his magic, so Ram i see your point Bro.  Good Luck
  16. Not only will they beat them 3 times, they should destroy them, but English can work a miracle. IMO No disrespect Dogs fans
  17. Central should beat the brakes off Nederland, no disrespect to the Dogs or their fans, but Central is too talented. They just can't shoot the ball. If Nederland plays Central man like they did Ozen it should be light out. No rebounds, fastbreaking, pressing, 30 point win. Quit handcuffing all those athletes @ Central. Good luck Dogs you always have a shot, because your Coach is outstanding & players are solid and give it their all. A joy to see the Dogs play
  18. Forgive me for getting in on the recruiting topic late, but i must say when all was good in Beaumont (winning district titles between Central & Ozen) no complaints, but now other schools are developing programs, i hear recruiting statements. Guys, kids have been shuffling through different schools for years either by the parents, Coaches, friends etc. Dont quite know how that works these days, but back at the Bee Hive, we could care less if a player left because we had plenty of guys to fill in. I guess being perennial State Champs keeps the poachers at bay LOL I guess i'm trying to say let's quit crying and play ball. You guys sound like that no good Lane Kiffin who does things, but when others do it to him he cries foul.  I'll say again, Nederland has no business competing with the likes of Central & Ozen every year, but Kudos to those kids for showing how fundamentals are forever, being athletic is temporary.  Oh and by the way, where were all of the Panther fans on Senior night?? Central, I was @ senior night when Gully played and it was awful also. I see Nederland fans.  Let's show support to the kids whatever the teams records are.                                                                   Mighty Bumblebees
  19. First, I want to say I'm not new to the site, just new to posting on the forum. Hope I don't offend anyone. Central's center should dominate Weisbrod everytime. Too long & athletic, not knocking Weisbrod cuz he's a Coaches dream. That kid plays with his heart & soul, sacrifices his body. If better talent throughout the district played as hard, many Colleges would be calling(not saying any names). For Nederland to even be mentioned for a Championship in basketball is a Credit to the Coach. English gets every ounce of talent & skill out of his players. Central & Ozen are both very talented & athletic. Nederland guys are very fundamental & disciplined. Call me crazy but I'll take latter of the two cuz the last I checked, this not very athletic team has been winning district. Sort of like Cinderella @ March Madness. So to answer the question of which team wins, I say central, but 20 years ago when I Played @ the Bee Hive I wouldn't entertain such ridiculous questions, but nowadays I must answer so I think central wins. Give English a couple of these athletes..... I'll let the Dogs fans tell you guys how he would do. Thanks for the forum to freely agree to disagree.           Campbell 1990 Mighty Bumblebees
  20. NDN 1989 Thanks for the shout-outs Lol. Didn't think anyone remembered me on the beehive teams. I wasn't Anthony Allen or Brian Sallier, but I think I had a solid career. I loved the days of the Bee Hive. I had the honor of playing the top of the press, how many starting centers today can say that. Chasing Central's Perry Hill was no picnic.  IMO no disrespect to the athletes today cuz Lord knows they are bigger faster & stronger, but the thing most of these kids lack is School Pride. Programs today have no tradition. No legacy to follow. In a 20 year span the Mighty Bumblebees averaged going to State every 2 yrs. A feat that may have not been duplicated by a boys team since. That's tradition. we went to state from 88-90, winning 3 titles. The freshman went 4 yrs in a row; need I say Tradition? So, when I hear the talk of basketball on here I sigh because most will never understand. Coach Gamble developed a program and under that blueprint, 2 other Coaches came & used his players & won Championships. To their credit they learned the ways of the Jedi Master & continued to hone their skills & developed their own programs. To me, all things go back to the best Coach I've ever known, Coach James Gamble. Kudos to Coach Boutte, he listened to his mentors, humbled himself & reaped the benefits of being a good pupil, waited his turn & put his own stamp on developing a program. Something the guys today are trying to do, just may take more time for those guys. Good luck to them. By the way, don't want to her that the talent is split between schools cuz we had that problem with 3 schools also 1 5A & 2 4A's.                 Campbell LHS 1990
