I guess that makes me an old fart, too. Games like these remind me of 80's football. We ran the veer at Jasper in those days and only passed when we had to unless we had a quarterback that could throw really well out of play action. I've always loved that style of play and I think kids had to be in better shape to play physical football like that. That was the biggest indicator of winning programs back then in my opinion.

Don’t want to give you the big head, but you do a great job of posting the action.  And us old timers who shouldn’t be driving that far at night, & others that can’t go for whatever reason,  you & this Forum do a fantastic service.  Once again, my sincere thanks.   I look forward to you posting the next 12 games.   🥇☝️

Just speculating but I’m sure Newton will be fine this year when they return to 3a competition. 

Vidor has won 2 games while throwing exactly 1 pass, so much for opening up the passing attack this year. But when you are probably averaging 4 yards a rush why throw. We should have 1000 yards on the ground by halftime of the next game.

I counted 23 for newton. They came out 2nd half with their heads hanging. They'll be ok once they start playing their division. WOS is for real.

Vidor D has a sub par performance for their standards but stepped up when we need the stop

We need to cut down on the mistakes they are hurting us bad.
The O is having no problem moving the ball but we are allowing them to stay in the game just like last week.
Defense has to stop the big play ability of BC.

48-28 Vidor over Bay City is what I think I heard, might be a little off but the Pirates won convincingly. 

It's game day folks! I am prepping myself for a long drive to Matagorda County to the county seat in Bay City and hopefully a joyful return to Vidor.

Vidor Freshman was winning 38 to 7 against LCM when I left in the 4th Qtr. Vidor JV score was 40 to 27 over Bay City.

In a interview one time, a reporter ask him about give about giving 100% everyday and he said " I'M NUMBER 12 SO I HAVE TO GIVE 112% EVERYDAY" 

If you look closely at the final play you will see him in on the goal line offense and some plays during the game he would be next to the left tackle in an unbalanced overloaded offensive line. Vidor will lose a whole lot next year but they will have him working both sides of the ball. How you like that blocked punt? 😉
