You will probably get more criticism but this is literally one of the best posts I have ever read on this site. Well done.

My God! Nappyroots is a socialist too! It's a conspiracy, y'all! Get your guns and make it for the town square! We gotta purge these folks from the population, and fast!
So, ready to answer those questions yet, smitty? Or are you just going to dole out more rhetoric? I couldn't help but notice you took a couple days to come back to this thread, but that didn't stop you from posting in others. What's the matter? Scared to face the truth?

Length + athleticism. Can't coach that. He'll play in the league. Watch. I can point out several who are very similar right now. No one said he will star. But he will make a roster. Maybe not immediately but not in the too distant future.

Man, I'm still sick to my stomach over that game. On a positive note, I finished 3rd out of 7336 in a $1 NBA daily fantasy contest tonight and won $300, so that was pretty cool, although just like the Longhorns, I lost my lead at almost the last possible second or I woulda won $700

Congratulations to seniors Dontre Thomas and Michael Saladin. Big congratulations to freshman Devon McCain as the only non junior or senior to make the team.

As for the game, I was there and the best team on that day won the game. There's no shame in that for Silsbee. Someone always has to lose. Playing in that game alone is an amazing accomplishment. I never saw Big Sandy leaving San Antonio without that trophy but I was wrong. You just never know and it's a testament to just how hard it is to win a championship. Both of those teams spent most or all the season ranked #1 but in the end came up short. They were both excellent teams and should be very proud of all they accomplished.

I can't say I have heard anything about a ref being a Lincoln dad I did hear one was a Huntington players dad. I can't say I saw anything to have a big problem about. I saw a couple charges I didn't agree with and a block call that I thought was more of a charge than many that were called. I did see a couple times I thought a double dribble or walk should have been called. If there was some tie to a Lincoln player which would surprise me then a lot of investigating should be done.
as far as the talk of our style of play, sure it sets you up to be beat by a certain type of team. Any style of play sets itself up to be beaten by someone really good at an opposite for lack of a better word style. But we sure must be one of if not the best at playing our style. And of course teams good at different styles have advantages that's why you have to dictate yours.
As far as our half court offense, this year the 3 ball was an awful big part of it. I saw games where we made 18 and 14. Many with 7 or 8. In the playoffs that didn't happen . Maybe better defenses, maybe shooting in the big arenas the last four games, whatever the reason they didn't fall. It's no secret that's not our strongest point. I know it has been worked on, but our guys like to go. So do what you do best and we did all the way to a 3 pt loss in the state tournament.
You can say what you want about Lincoln's second half. Fact is the Tigers took advantage played like we played, made Lincoln lose its composure for a while and came within 3 pts of winning a state title. How many other teams in the state did that? Hats off Tigers,. Keep doing what you do and get even better!!

I tell you what. I will bring $1800 cash, you bring $1800 cash and we both give it to AggiesAreWe to hold. He can broadcast our match here on SETX. Will be the biggest audience of the year.

On the officiating, I never complain about it so long as it's consistent. And in this game, it was consistent. It's just it was consistent one way in one half, and a different way in the other. Which is strange..sometimes this occurs when someone has some "advice" for a crew at intermission, especially if a supervisor is on hand.
I don't think you can blame this loss on officiating anymore than you can blame it on Devon getting hurt. The truth is you can almost never say for certain what would happen with a changed variable. However, we do know that Silsbee could have won this game if they had capitalized more on opportunities (point blank range shots and FTs), if they hadn't been so tight in the first half (jitters, officiating, or whatever), etc.
Bottom line is this was a great season and I highly doubt it will be the last trip the Tigers make to State in the next few years. And next time they will have experienced it and be better for it. I know, I know, I'm making crazy predictions again. Just like I said they wouldn't lose more than 3 district games in 5 years (they've lost 1 in 2 years so far) or that a couple of junior high kids would have a significant impact on varsity as freshmen.
Hold your heads high Tigers. Keep working and you may get fitted for those rings yet. And to Tre, Dontre, Ricky, and Big Luke, it's been an absolute pleasure watching you guys play, even when you were dishing out beatings to my team. To the very end, you guys were champions in my book...

Let's sum this thread up....
Never mind. Im gonna try and express an opinion but I'm almost too disgusted at this point.
Silsbee players obviously are plagued with one of two problems...
1) Not being coached properly
Or
2) Uncoachable
Or in some opinions....
BOTH.
Basically they are winning on athletic ability only against inferior teams with no coaching or not enough talent.
I loved every minute of this season. Thank you Silsbee Tigers Basketball for allowing me to share in your triumphs all season and your heartaches at the end.
I love you guys that much more for it.

Silsbee got exposed? They lost in the state championship game by 3. 2nd in state. They beat most their teams by 30 or more in district and playoffs. Here is what got exposed in my opinion.... Little ole Silsbee can play with those big Dallas and Houston teams with their young kids. They have 10 kids that could go for 15 and 10 on any given night. They lose their BEST player in the 3rd Q and make a great comeback to almost win the game. Exposed?? Maybe on free throws...Thats about it

I am going to say this to all of these anti Tiger comments, especially ones like " it wasn't a comeback..." If you have seen this Silsbee team at all you would realize that was Tiger ball right there. Sure there are areas we could improve but we still play out game and we were right there at the end. A few more fts or a couple of those easy misses back and it's a different outcome. But the biggest thing on this night isn't about a win or loss it's about a young man who has given his all this entire year for his team and hometown. To be disrespecting his team and their effort right now is out of line. If you want to give a good analysis and say we couldn't stop 5 and he was the difference then find but right now more than anything this games outcome means very little, sure I wanted a Tiger win but a Devon win is the most important!!

Silsbee foul trouble in the first half combined with Lincoln making almost all of their first half free throws after being in the double bonus 5 minutes into the game was the deciding factor in this one IMO. It took Silsbee out of their regular sub rotation early in the game, and allowed Lincoln to put them in a hole. The stretch late in the 2nd quarter where Lincoln hit three straight threes to push a small lead to a double digit lead was huge as well. Silsbee was able to fight back, but the big lead that Lincoln jumped out to meant that Silsbee's typical late run only brought them back to tie it instead of pushing their lead to 20.

You got him. Mike is totally biased thinking the #1 team in the state that just won their semifinal game by 40, and has rolled everyone they've faced in the playoffs, is a quality team. why don't you just let the Silsbee fans enjoy this thread?
