We're those teams playing 3A competition or 4A? And was the district they were in filled with as many good teams as this one? One of the reasons that this team is so impressive is that they've turned it around so quickly.

well, what if they haven't? or what if it's a game winner? i'm not advocating group dancing and spiking the ball, or pulling a chad johnson for that matter, but it seems like high school officials have one hand waiting on the flag whenever a player gets into the endzone.

22-4a is so polarized. This year it's been the story of good teams and bad teams... Vidor was expected to struggle, but LCM and Ozen fans were both expecting some big things this year, and it didn't happen. Probably 80% of the people on here (or more) would've picked Central to make the playoffs, and they haven't even made it interesting. Central (for not coming close to the playoffs) LCM (for not at least making it interesting like most thought they would) Ozen (for showing little to no improvement)

I'd love to see someone make a list for my HJ Hawks... i went to school there, but i don't know enough about it's football history to make a list beyond those guys that i played with while i was there.

This brings up an important issue. What is the minimum number of carries that a player needs before you consider his YPC to be a legitimate stat. 26 yards per carry is very nice, but if he could do that every time, he would have a lot more than a dozen carries. Your thoughts?

I'm all for a little celebration. High school football is the most pure form of the sport IMO, and the love that the kids have for the game is probably greater here than any other level. You have kids playing the game that they love knowing that most of them will never play at a higher level. I think if they want to show a little excitement after a score, they ought to be able to do it.

nothing to play for in the game but pride. central is the better team, but ozen is capable of playing central close, in which case anything can happen. I'm expecting central to win this game, but it wouldn't completely shock me if ozen pulled an upset. Central 28 Ozen 20

5A- the brook 4A- nobody, but i'm loving the hell out of the race in 22-4a this year! 3A- HJ (my first love) 2A- EC 1A- don't pay too much attention TAPPS- indifferent

gotta be nederland/lumberton. a couple of streaks that might be broken if lumberton wins... nederland's playoff streak, and lumberton's non-playoff streak. dayton/png is a huge game, but they've both already punched their tickets to the playoffs. a district championship is always a beautiful thing, but both teams have had one in the recent past. if lumberton can make the playoffs, that's a big piece of history for them.

i hope you're right, just for drama's sake. after a loss like this, a team can do one of two things: fall apart, or band together. i hope that nederland bands together and makes things interesting next week.

lumberton obviously has the advantage because not only are they in if they win, there's a scenario where they can lose "in a close one" and still get in.

i take this quote back... dayton over nederland by that many is an upset, i don't care who you thought would win.
