  1. i've been impressed with lumberton this year, but i'd love to see a dayton-lumberton right now.
  2. hmm... i figured this for a close game.
  3. i knew that the raiders had a shot, but even after last week, i never thought i'd see the day that lumberton poured in on the dogs like this...
  4. sounds like one hell of a defensive struggle.
  5. i kind of expected EC to come out fightin' mad this week
  6. i feel for about 2/3 of the district when they play wo-s
  7. if you have the right shoes, it's not that big of a deal...
  8. thus the beauty of being merely an interested observer
  9. is this game a "win and your in" game?
  10. crap, i was hoping this was a game that my hawks would be competitive in...
  11. well, it ain't over yet, but the fat lady's warming up... i can't believe that nederland has been outscored 83-0 over their last 6 quarters.
  12. man, dayton is proving that they are hands-down the best team in the district.
  13. sounds like it's a good game so far
  14. I'll be at the lumberton/nederland game. there's not a bigger game in SETX tonight!
  15. wow, allen turned it on...
  16. You need the officials on the field to keep the game moving and to enforce the rules, but if a video review can correct a missed call that will affect the outcome of the game, and if it can correct this call in a timely manner, then it's a great thing. The only plays that are reviewable are issues that are in black and white, such as a ball curving around the foul post, or a ball hitting at the top of the fence. video replay can clearly show what happened on plays like these. they're not going to use it to nitpick balls and strikes, so i don't really understand your reasoning behind letting a missed call stand just for the sole reason that the umpire made it so you have to live with it. it's the same with the NFL. Replay is used to determine fumbles and catches and whatnot, but it's not used to question the officials when they call holding or pass intereference. those are left to the judgement of the official, but some plays can and should be reviewed.
  17. I somewhat agree with you, but i'd say that over the past five years Texas, aTm, and Kansas have all had teams capable of winning a championship. Now i certainly agree with you that it might not have been likely, but they all had teams that could've beaten anyone at anytime. (also, wasn't OK State really good for awhile?)
  18. I think this is a good move as well. Bruntlett can be replaced, and in all seriousness, we don't really want to replace lidge at this point. Michael Bourn has tremendous potential. He's going to probably end up being the type of player that Reggie Willetts is for the angels. Not too much pop, but on the bases a lot and causing problems while he's on by stealing bases. The pitcher Geary worries me though... everytime i watched the phils he was putting up lidgeintheninth type performances.
  19. Yup, you're right. That being said, HJ or Silsbee finds a way to win this district as well as their own
  20. Well, maybe we can start a sausage race like they do in pittsburg, and he can be the fat one that gets hit in the head with a bat as he runs by.
  21. Hmm... but how many astros and astros' fans did he piss off when he chased the money to new york?
  22. here's what you do... get out early, and park in a spot where you know it will be dark. wait until someone who is really sickly and weak looking comes along, and physically overpower them. steal the tickets, and tie up the people, forcing them into their trunk. as you leave the game, let them out, and be sure to tell them the outcome of the game to be considerate.
