  1. This brings up an important issue. What is the minimum number of carries that a player needs before you consider his YPC to be a legitimate stat. 26 yards per carry is very nice, but if he could do that every time, he would have a lot more than a dozen carries. Your thoughts?
  2. I'm all for a little celebration. High school football is the most pure form of the sport IMO, and the love that the kids have for the game is probably greater here than any other level. You have kids playing the game that they love knowing that most of them will never play at a higher level. I think if they want to show a little excitement after a score, they ought to be able to do it.
  3. Can't stand the rockets ;D Let's Go Mavs! 8) I say that the mavs win by 15-20
  4. nothing to play for in the game but pride. central is the better team, but ozen is capable of playing central close, in which case anything can happen. I'm expecting central to win this game, but it wouldn't completely shock me if ozen pulled an upset. Central 28 Ozen 20
  5. i always try to pull for the rockets, unless they're playing the mavs... good job so far!
  6. don't be silly... i know that 25 feels old to you right now, but you're still just a youngster. it's not everyday that you turn 25, so enjoy it! ;D
  7. you have a good point, but i have a feeling he's gonna want the type of money that he was actually good enough to earn three or four years ago.
  8. 5A- the brook 4A- nobody, but i'm loving the hell out of the race in 22-4a this year! 3A- HJ (my first love) 2A- EC 1A- don't pay too much attention TAPPS- indifferent
  9. gotta be nederland/lumberton. a couple of streaks that might be broken if lumberton wins... nederland's playoff streak, and lumberton's non-playoff streak. dayton/png is a huge game, but they've both already punched their tickets to the playoffs. a district championship is always a beautiful thing, but both teams have had one in the recent past. if lumberton can make the playoffs, that's a big piece of history for them.
  10. it's like britney's hair. not as good as it was 10 minutes before, but it still looks ok in the end .
  11. good games all over the place tonight.
  12. wow, that turned out to be a hell of a ballgame . congrats memorial!
  13. i hope you're right, just for drama's sake. after a loss like this, a team can do one of two things: fall apart, or band together. i hope that nederland bands together and makes things interesting next week.
  14. lumberton obviously has the advantage because not only are they in if they win, there's a scenario where they can lose "in a close one" and still get in.
  15. i take this quote back... dayton over nederland by that many is an upset, i don't care who you thought would win.
  16. i can't argue that... good luck to both teams!
  17. i just thank you for simplifying things.
  18. i knew that this wasn't the same team that lost to lumberton at the beginning of district, but man oh man i can't believe what happened tonight. nederland played png pretty close, and dayton completely dismantled them. if this same dayton team shows up next week to play the indians, i don't think that png can beat them. assuming that the same dayton team that came to play tonight shows up again next week... Dayton 34 PNG 20
  19. i don't think this result against this team is anything to hang your heads about. congrats to WOS for the victory, and congrats to OF for keeping it interesting for awhile, and not quitting.
  20. wow, never would've thought it... congrats kountze!
  21. well, there's that, at least
  22. does the coach have anything to do with this? i'm just asking...
  23. congrats on a HUGE win dayton! good luck to both nederland and dayton next week.
