  1. i'll be there tonight. not sure if my buddy is gonna want to stick around for the second game, but i'm hoping to convince him!
  2. i agree, Trey was getting pounded, but... if they aren't calling the contact, quit trying to force the ball in and trying to draw it. gustafson and benard also missed layups where it appeared they were fouled, but the refs are a lot more likely to call it if the player making the drive is under control, and not careening wildly through the lane.
  3. If HJ can reduce the number of wild drives that they make into double and triple teams, i like there chances against pretty much anyone. gustafson, burrell, and benard all played big roles in the hawks win last night, but they still probably missed fifteen wild, flailing layups between them. when they make an extra pass or two, as they also did about fifteen times last night, they pick defenses apart and get wide open layups instead of stumbling double pump reverses.
  4. OU NC Pitt Michigan State Cinderella Team: Mizzou
  5. I hate you. easy!!! i have no dogs in this fight. good luck to both teams
  6. Their starting lineup is '6"3, '6"5, '6"5, '6"8 and '6"11. Good Luck! ;D liar... their PG is 6'2'', and their 3-guard is only 6'4". you nailed the other three, though.
  7. Hey Kenny, you go through names like i go through venereal diseases.
  8. that's a very good question!!!
  9. a slight edge means they win by 4!?!?
  10. Upset special, Silsbee 3-1.
  11. i didn't like that either, and it dang near cost them the win.
  12. gonna keep going with what got us here, the old reverse jinx. Hudson by 4, 73-69.
  13. Turner was a beast tonight. he had probably 10 steals. Benard scored a lot, but i've never seen a player that was involved in so many borderline block/charging plays. Ricossa played really well. I think he had 8 points, but 4 or 5 blocks and several key rebounds. I was not particularly impressed with the officiating tonight, going both ways. several key travel and carrying calls were made at crucial times, and many were borderline, while other more blatant offenses went unnoticed. Cleveland is going to be VERY tough next season. Not sure what many of their fans were thinking when they made their exit with the indians down 5 with about a minute left in regulation. #4 took over in the 2nd quarter and hit 3 quick 3's to keep Cleveland in it, and they have a good post presence down low, although Ricossa did well to neutralize him after the 1st quarter. all in all, a great game to watch, and i'm glad that the hawks are moving on!
  14. seriously. i didn't realize Benard had that many.
  15. good season, Ozen.
  16. Burrell's dunk was nice, and beat the halftime buzzer to put the hawks up by 3. does that make it more important?

  18. the very first fight kind of surprised me. marcus hicks had razor rob in his trademark guillotine, and rob got out of it somehow. other than that, it was pretty boring. i know it was a filler fight, but marcus is dating a friend of mine in dallas, so i have a little more interest in his fights.
  19. (AP) A Texas man on just his second saltwater fishing trip caught an 11-foot, 8-inch shortfin mako shark that weighed 1,149.5 pounds on scales at Port Fourchon, La. Bill Walters, a 56-year-old dog trainer from Granbury, Texas, caught the shark last week aboard the Orange Beach, Ala.-based Sea Spray while trolling near the mouth of the Mississippi River. It took more than six hours to haul in the catch with the help of nine friends and skipper Bill Staff. It is one of the heaviest shortfin mako sharks ever caught. The International Game Fish Association shortfin mako world record is 1,221 pounds.
