So the next question is this: If you are a 6'2"-6'3" guard with very good D-1 skills and live in a 3-A district, would you move to a larger district to play? or stay put? kind of depends... i went to HJ, and had options to move to several schools around here that were much better at soccer (i ended up playing D3 in college), but i didn't want to leave my childhood friends. also, a kid playing in 3A might have a better chance to succeed ON THE HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL (like Donahoe and his championship) if they play at a lower level. it's probably a different situation for every player.

Oooop!!! You're right! Then this begs to further ask the qauestion: Why is it that there aren't any 3-A players playing major D-1 basketball? Is it that these kids are good at the high school level in their respective divisions and lack the skills to play major D-1? my personal opinion on this... a 4A school with 1500 kids, or a 5A school with 4000 kids, is more likely just by sheer numbers of students to have a D1 quality player on it's roster due to the mucher larger pool of players they have to choose from. a 3A school, even a good one, is simply less likely to produce a D1 player. on top of that, those 3A players who ARE good enough to play get less exposure than those in bigger classifications. also, if a coach has to choose between two closely matched players, it would make sense for him to go with a player who's in a higher classification, as that player GENERALLY has more experience playing against bigger, better teams, which will have better prepared him for D1 opponents.

I have to agree that Lumberton's goalie is the best i have seen this year, and classy.. doesn't play dirty, he knocked me down to get to a ball, but helped me up right after the play... and those are some good stats as well glad to hear that... lumberton had a goalie several years back who would take any chance to hit you with a knee, shoulder, elbow, or cleats up tackle if he could. i always hated cheap goalies, because the officials are really quick to protect them when you retaliate by taking the opportunity to retaliate on the next 50/50 ball.
