Yes.
well, it's refreshing for HJ to be the favorite in a game for only the 2nd time in their last five games.

 3. a healthy dempsey is on that list, IMO.
 4. last night was the best i've seen the hawks play all year.  they played considerably better than the game they beat silsbee a couple of weeks ago.  if they keep it up, whoever they face the rest of the way is going to have their hands seriously full.
 5. well, as long as HJ comes to play, i expect them to win.  they've won at least 4 (maybe 5 or 6) games against teams that would be favored against fairfield.  that being said, fairfield has made it to the regional tourney, so they're no slouch.  good luck to both teams, but hopefully we'll see another HJ/Silsbee game come saturday!

The day I see your coach leave is the day I realize the talent has dried up in Sour Lake and Nome area.
. Bluedove- Does that mean Sutherland will be moving to Hf for that 2012-2015 run?
Hahaha! HF better win or yall will never let me forget my boasting....... So..... HF won't need Sutherland to win with the talent they are getting.
. I think that is exactly how everyone felt about Cleveland-  -  -  until last night
I've never been associated with a losing team since the 6th grade, winning just follows me wherever I go. ;)
i guess it's a good thing for us HJ fans that you didn't go to cleveland.
[Hidden Content]
pretty sparse :)  but thanks for what you could give me.  only about half of fairfield's game results were posted, but it looks like they had AT LEAST 6 or 7 losses this year, assuming they won every game that wasn't posted.
 9. i was wondering who would start this thread.  i wanted to.  ;D  Swagg-checked!
 10.
HJ- come on man how many games have they won? they play cheap.
i've seen HJ play 5 games this season, and haven't seen a "cheap" play yet.

You HJ folks live in yesteryear it appears!
time for y'all to live in "nexteryear"
The good thing about Cleveland is it provides us with a nice rest stop on our way to Huntsville every year.
a nice little warmup game before regionals :)
 12.
If there was a fight shame it happen but was it really that bad? Was anyone hurt or did BPD finally break it up?
not really sure.  we got out of there before it escalated.  all i know is that when it started, a couple of baytown officers and a couple of lee security guards were trying to stop it without success, and when we drove by about 5 minutes later, it looked like it might still being going on.
 13.
i gotta say i'm surprised and impressed (thats not a slam-i'm eating crow), congrats and well deserved kudos to hj for a great win. another altercation outside the gym after a cleveland loss? seems to be a pattern. the game is on the court and it is just a game, no need to carry it outside...sheesh.
it wasn't pretty, and the "first responders" weren't to successful in breaking things up.  i got the heck out of there ;)
 14. If Silsbee exploits their size, i expect this to be their largest margin of victory so far in the playoffs.

 16. congrats on another good year.  i really expected to see Kountze at state.
 17. it's a testament to how good Yates is that i see that score and am thoroughly impressed with how close Jones kept it, and how many points they scored :)

 19. what a game for the hawks!  they beat Cleveland in every aspect of the game (except cheap shots).  Turner was his usual self, creating chaos on defense, and scoring a wide array of off-balance layups.  Gus played fantastic.  if he had more than 1 or 2 turnovers tonight, i'd be shocked.  So much for him not being able to handle the cleveland guards.  he ran circles around them.  Sutherland got hot in the 2nd quarter, and hit 5 threes in a row over a span of about 10-12 hawks possessions.  he carried the team in the 2nd quarter, and was the main reason they had a comfortable margin at the half.  Ricossa didn't show up much on the score sheet, but he had three FANTASTIC assists early in the 1st quarter to keep HJ in it early on, and did well on the defensive end all night.  Prudhomme came in and was a game changer, scoring a bunch, making some key plays on defense and cleaning up the boards.  Will Anderson also had a few key buckets and rebounds.  Venable was his usual workhorse self.  I can't think of a single hawk player that stepped on the court that had anything less than a solid game.  From the end of the 1st quarter to the end of the 2nd, HJ went on a stretch where they were 7 of 8 from deep.  It's tough to compete when every layup you make is answered by a trey on the other end.  In the 3rd quarter, it looked like one ref in particular was trying to keep Cleveland in it.  Blatant fouls where HJ players were thrown to the floor in front of him went uncalled, but he did manage to call three shooting fouls in a row on the hawks while out of position beyond the 3 point arc, while the referee that was 6 feet away from the play under the basket didn't see cause to blow his whistle.  I was impressed with the way that the hawks overcame the adversity and blew the game open in the 4th.  it's also worth noting that, while they didn't shoot a great percentage from the line, the hawks made something like their first 7 or 8 in a row from the line in the 4th when it came to crunch time, which turned a small lead into an insurmountable one.  Great win for the hawks.  it's funny how, with this being a "down year" for them, they've "upset" both Navasota and Cleveland (both of which were supposedly much better this year than last), and they've done it by more convincing margins than they were able to do last year.  Keep it going, hawks!  Let's take this "rebuilding year" a few more games and head on back to austin!!!
 20. they needed this one.  glad to see they bounced back.
 21. they're still in the tourney... a couple of wins in the conference tourney and they'll be a 6 or 7 seed probably.  they have too many good wins to kepe them out, and their only bad loss is to OU, who isn't really that bad of a team.
 22. i think Kountze comes out and shocks them early, and they never recover.  Kountze by 12, 74-62.
 23. i stand corrected.  Central beat Ozen 2-0.  Thanks, newcastle.
