Which games are you ready to watch?
These rankings have to be taken with a grain of salt. HJ deserves to be ranked high, as does Cleveland. It does seem like the Tigers always start the year ranked lower than they deserve. Not sure if this is the case this year or not after losing two 6'6" players. But over the last several years it seems no matter who we are returning we receive a lower ranking than I would expect.
y'all get short-changed every year with the rankings, but as you say, the rankings don't mean anything. silsbee will be one of the best teams in the state, just as they've been for the past several years. -
Would be nice, but I am sure there are more important things BISD should be spending that 10 mil on, right bullets? ;) It really isn't necessary. Ozen and Central have nice facilities, West Brook just needs better lighting. I don't imagine that would cost 10 million. ::)
no comment.
Im ready for HJ vs Kountze:) I think HJ is over rated this year:) (Zeek im sure youll get fired up about the comment i just made) and I also think PPL are gonna under estimate the Lions this year..
HJ is overrated every year... until they win 30 games and go several rounds deep into the playoffs. That being said, they're overrated at #3 in the state right now, but they'll still have a very good team again this year. they're going to be taller and deeper than last year. you can't replace jacoby, but prudhomme looks like he's ready to be the go-to man, we have our starting PG back, a light's out shooter, a couple of capable big men, and a better bench than last year. -
i'm with tvc. i'll be happy to help him prepare it and eat it to help spare you the emotional pain.

so glad arod got a chance to be the last out. what a moment for rangers fans!
-
thanks brother! the whole heck of it is that i was on a flight from houston to albuquerque when they clinched, but yes, i've been waiting over 20 years for this!

Phillies vs. Giants Series Thread/Updates
San Fran up 1-0. If the Rangers get through, I like the matchup up with SF better.
absolutely... i'd much rather face the freak, cain, and baumgartner than the two roys and cole hamels. -
the rangers should've won this series in 4, and to give the yankees a chance now to win just two games to beat us is a bit scary. that being said, we just took 2 of 3 at yankee stadium, and have two more shots of winning 1 game to go to the world series, which is a great spot to be. if you'd told me at the beginning of the year that the rangers would make the playoffs, i would've been happy. if you'd told me we'd win our first postseason series, i'd have been thrilled. if you'd told me we'd have two chances at home to win 1 game to go to the world series, i would've been beside myself. the best news is that we've already beaten both pitchers we're facing, and our superstar ace is ready to go for game 7 if need be. the rangers are definitely under less pressure than the yankees, because they've already exceeded expectations. i'll be very disappointed if they don't win, but they've already had a great season. also, i'm glad now that they rangers had to battle back after losing two in the last series to clinch in game 5, because they now can go in with the confidence that they've done it before.

i like how classy the yankees fans are. run for the exits when their team is down, slap an opponent's glove away when he's trying to make a catch at the fence, and gloat and make fun of the rangers every time something goes wrong. they've still got to take two in a row in arlington, though.
-
the rangers have had their chances to come back, but have stranded a bunch of baserunners.
-
Rangers strand another runner in scoring position. not catching the breaks today, but seriously, taking 2 of 3 in NY, and giving themselves two shots at home to win the series is more than they could've ever asked for coming into the series.
-
berkman up and appears to be okay.
-
well, i don't think he hit his head, but he definitely might have got a little whiplash.
-
uh oh, another 1st baseman down for the yanks. after losing texiera with a hammy problem last night, berkman just slipped and fell and hit the crap out of his head on the dirt near the stands.
-
Rangers off to an awful start, down 5-0 after 3. they've stranded a few runners in scoring position, made a couple of throwing errors, but the real problem has been CJ wilson, who's walked a bunch of batters and given up a couple of dingers.
-
here's hoping! but if not, we still get two shots at home to do it... they're in a very nice spot.
-
oh yeah. 10. Josh Hamilton is playing homerun Derby with that short porch in right.
-
i gave my positives from last night's game, so i'll give them again: 1. Rangers, after having a down year for homeruns, are crushing the ball, homering in every game of the postseason, and adding 4 tonight. 2. The Rangers got a win with their shakiest pitcher starting, despite the fact that he only went 3.1 innings and left a bases loaded jam for the bullpen to clean up. 3. Derek Holland was incredible, going 3.2 innings, getting out of Hunter's jam only giving up 1 run, and only allowing 1 hit in picking up the win. 4. Vladimir Guerrero, who has looked awful all postseason, went 4 for 5. that's bad news for anyone facing him. 5. The Rangers, after generating nothing against the yanks' bullpen the 1st two games, have now crushed them two games in a row. The yanks better go to Mo Rivera in the 6th tomorrow. 6. Darren Oliver came in a tough spot, and didn't suck. 7. Benjie Molina, who had been struggling a bit, went 3 for 4 with a HUGE homerun. 8. Yankees fans and players alike were demoralized for the second consecutive night, watching any slight hope crushed in the top of the 9th.
-
someone smited me... must be a yankees fan. just remember, i'll be celebrating this win for another hour before you can smite me again :)
-
those 3 extra runs make me feel a WHOLE lot better about the yankees singling to lead off the 9th. yankees fans are garbage, running to the exit.
