  1. a couple of bad teams and Nederland, who's defense gave up tons of points at the end of the year. He's yet to see a real defensive line, and this might be the realest one in the state. Again, rooting for his success, but not expecting it.
  2. Picking a freshman qb with a handful of starts over SOC in the playoffs? Sorry, I just don't see it happening, but would love to be proven wrong!
  3. with you on that.
  4. Hard to think Silsbee has much of a chance after what happened last year, when the tigers were a much better team. That said, Bellville seems to be down quite a bit from last year as well. Still, I think it's the end of the road for Silsbee.
  5. Edgewood can sling it, or so I hear. Might be a close one.
  6. Yeah, I meant sooner, sorry. HJ also played a part in that by not trying to burn the clock.
  7. just happened to be logging into NFHS to watch some football at the deer lease friday and saw this game listed. I watched the last couple of minutes. Brookeland had a player (#11, I think) hit three straight contested jumpers from inside the arc and then a couple of clutch free throws to keep them in it. Brookeland didn't foul at the end, which seemed like a bad choice, but had a decent look to tie at the end.
  8. At least I didn’t give myself an insurmountable deficit to overcome for the playoff pickems like I did in the regular season
  9. Pretty decent win for the horns that won’t earn them much in the way of credibility. And even your good wins can turn bad after the SEC eats its own every weekend. Had a few Aggie buddies who overreacted after that LSU win a few weeks ago. Then South Carolina happened and now the LSU win is about on par with Texas’ win over Vandy 😀. It’s just a dang tough conference, even if you don’t end up with a schedule stacked with the 4 or 5 best teams.
  10. They have respectable losses to Celina and Stephenville, and a 1-score loss to WOS. They’re a good team. Should be another close game
  11. Nah, the one where the horns receiver jumped up for a ball in the endzone and the hog player wrapped him up a half second before the ball got there
  12. Curious how they missed that PI call. About as blatant as it gets
  13. Looks like a pretty good test for the horns. They beat Robinson 63-34. Give me the horns 41-20.
  14. PT sitting their starting qb and CH dealing with major injuries played a big role, but they both competed well.
  15. Counter question: what do conservatives actually gain by it being there? Apart from “sticking it to the liberals”, I mean.
  16. Nonsense. In a country where 245M people are eligible to vote, the “landslide” trump victory was by 2.7M. Something like this is certainly divisive enough to affect elections. And any effect it had would be almost a complete net loss for republicans.
  17. What an effort from Hardin!
