I was originally under the impression that the officers were involved in a gunfight with the two suspects, and a stray bullet or bullets from the officers hit a car nearby. If that were the case these charges would make more sense to me. The officers making a horrible mistake a block away and shooting into an unrelated car seems like a stretch. To me this would be similar to an officer responding irresponsibly to a call, driving way too fast and killing someone, and then the DA charging the person committing crime the officer was responding to with vehicular homicide.

He and the witnesses tried to get her to stop, which she did not, and then followed her to her house and called 911. She went into the house, retrieved a gun, and pointed it at the motorcyclist (again verified by a witness), who then shot her. Lots of interesting stuff going on here, but sounds like pretty clear cut self defense. The witness on the 911 call clearly didn’t know the biker, so it’s not like it’s is biker buddy covering for him or something.

Pretty impressive win for the hawks. Nederland beat HF comfortably yesterday and has routinely beaten HJ the last few years if my memory serves me right.

I was about to say the same thing. Accuses people of seeing what they want to see, and then immediate makes another post about people “attacking” Rittenhouse. Laughable.

While I completely agree with the not guilty verdict, I guess I’m in the minority in thinking he’s kind of an idiot, rather than a hero. His mom is definitely an idiot. He didn’t deserve to be attacked, and rightfully defended himself, but never should’ve been there. I can go up and down magnolia in bmt at 2 AM waving money around and wearing gold jewelry, and there’s a decent chance I’ll find myself in a justifiable self defense situation. But the original action would still be stupid.

Then again, he was a drug dealer and convicted felon with a firearm. Even taking away the circumstances of his girlfriend’s death, you’d expect him to get sentenced fairly harshly.

Hurt my feelings.

I saw a comment on fb that read “but they wouldn’t have attacked him if he hadn’t ran around with a weapon.” I wish the same argument would be made by the left to defend police when they’re forced to shoot armed suspects. To be clear, I have an issue with vigilantism, and I have an issue when police kill people they shouldn’t, but the lack of common sense from so many people in determining what is justified and what isn’t is mind boggling.

Lol. How many turnovers would a backup have had? I promise you HF wouldn’t have scored. There have been a grand total of two teams score more than 14 points on Carthage this year, and one of them played in the 5A state championship game last season, and has a reasonable chance to get there again this year. You guys are killing me expecting HF to put up 35 or something and not turn the ball over against the best defense in the state. HF could’ve easily lost 3 district games. Y’all are acting like they’re WOS all of a sudden and should be competing in this one somehow.
