So I'm leaving the game and some Giddings fans (kids) yelled at us "Better luck next year!!"
As I said, they were kids and they were laughing and it was actually good humored, but I quickly responded...."better luck next week!!!", then drove away.
Good season Panthers, good luck WOS.

Thought this new coach, Rusty Nail fella at Madisonville, was suppose to be their savior. Seems like they may have went backwards a little. Kinda like the Dayton situation.
Wouldn't count that out just yet. Madisonville moved the ball pretty well with a relatively very young team. They only had like 4 seniors and maybe 5 or 6 juniors that played. A lot of young players that played well. Pretty dynamic offense that actually gave liberty fits to cover.
Liberty made some impressive goal line stands sure enough, but Madisonville (IMO) played pretty good with a lot of youngsters. I think they will be a team to be reckoned with the next couple of years. They also showed a lot of sportsmanship and played with class imo, good luck to em in the future.
Go Panthers

Kid's the real deal...
Wish him well, I enjoyed watching him pitch. He has a bright future ahead of him.

Very cool. Great cause.

An infield fly that is clearly in the infield is called for the protection of the runner. No verbal called is required. Coaches and runners should know the situation.
Knowing the situation is not the only answer. Yes - no verbal is required, but why wouldn't an umpire use the verbal mechanic? The reason I say this is, there is still a measure of judgement to an infield fly. It is an infield fly when "in the judgement" of the umpire that the pop up can be caught with ordinary effort, he has to judge this, not the coaches and runners. In other words, not every pop up to the infield is an infield fly. Knowing the sitch can be easy, but wondering if the umpires judgement is the same as yours....not so easy.

Oh ok. Where did you find the rankings at I have looked everywhere and had no luck....

Would be very difficult to not pitch Kolek. I haven't seen a lot of the pitchers mentioned here and I know there are a whole bunch of quality pitching in our area (always is), but let's be honest, the type of pitcher Kolek is, doesn't come around very often. I wouldn't argue that every pitcher listed here is a definite quality pitcher, but I would start the 100 mph guy....I think disregarding knowing some of the pitchers listed makes a few of us "fans" and would sway our thought process, even come up with reasons why our hometown guy might be better than the others, but outside looking in (none of my hometown guys are listed here), Kolek would be most baseball people's choice.
BTW...I would take ANY of the pitchers listed so far to start for my team any day.
