i feel the same . Now as an athlete i will say king im biased but king scored a total of 41 tds and had 2207 in total yards (we know he doesnt throw) if im not mistaken the 41 total  is second to dt in the setx.  king actually had help this year and was taken out of 2-3 games  in the 3rd qtr with 10-14 carries over 100 and 4-5 tds could have went over 2,000 yards rushing easily.  What got me is Arnold from kountze who is  phenomenal , but he was 2nd team db in his own district,  but he made 1st team athlete on defense . What ?? Now last year he was a force and made 1st team athlete ,but this year ? Cmon man . Tiger had a helluva year . Now lets see setx get screwed in all state picks .

Jack dallas from wos was 1st team and dt was 1st team athlete.  Dt was on 2 ballots as a qb and an athlete,  which by far he was the best qb in setx or dual threat qb . When kyler Murray was racking up awards i never once saw him regarded as an Athlete he was just a qb or dual threat . Now when he comes up for all state will they say he is an athlete?  Did dallas or morse have a better year passing the ball than dt ? I think not .

They have about 3-4 d1 commits on that team , they look extremely legit . I thought they would handle Carthrage. 

Both of them were nominated (down to 300 players )  at their respected positions to the  texas football  subway super team . I know Baldwin is one of the top linebackers in texas and cole has did quite well for himself . 

Its a shame this young man wasnt put up for mr texas football and the subway super team. Someone dropped the ball on this one , he should be a finalist in each of them . 

Does any paper or mag pick an All Setx Team anymore ? I always see consistently  All centx teams , All East texas  teams , All south texas team but i dont see All setx teams no where . I mean vype did a team a few years ago , but didnt do one last year because of the they felt they were treated by coaches.  What Gives ?

Dont be surprised if he gets a mention in state 

Both receivers should get some love from the state as well i think makey lead setx in reception and yards . 

With that type of season imo he should be 4A all state 1st team Qb , offensive player of the year (AP and Txsw ) , im sure he is gonna be bmt super gold qb , and pa news super team qb (offensive player of the year) , All greater houston pick and WRS . Phenomenal year for him and his team !! 

You can also add that kid ke'mon freeman from liberty eylau he has balled as well .  These are my picks for all state qb cant go wrong with either one really . Im  rooting for the home team good luck next week silsbee .

Without a doubt he should if eppler doesn't edge him out imo is class 4A all state qb and offensive player of the year . He has 67 combined tds ,  has his team @11-2 after going 4-7 last year and playing in qtr finals next week . Hats off to silsbee getting it done and still going strong . 

What is dontre thomas stats with this game included ? The Willie Ray Smith award winner and Super Gold QB is doing the damn thang !!

People from silsbee got to nominate him . When i first saw the subway team about back in late September early October i started nominating Kendrick King and im in northern va . 

Great article . Really thought Kirbyville was gonna handle business.  That game reminds me of 1980 when i was in 7th grade and my Horns played West in the regional round . That was also the year TJ was tearing it up , matter of fact i think they (tj and hf ) were the only two teams left from the area (golden triangle) going into regionals. tj would play lamarque and we played west . Everyone knew TJ roster , but Hamshire at the time coached by Phil Danaher fielded at the time one of the schools best and biggest teams in the schools history.  Led by Qb Fulton "Flip " Johnson (mcnesse st ) ,  WR Anthony" Buzzard" Lewis (mcnesse st)  Ot Robbie Brezina (U of h ) and rb joe king . And on Defense led by All State DE Terry Foreman , Dt Jim Peters , LB Dale Mccown and Db Chris Daigle . This was back when only the district champ made the playoffs and 20-3A was a tough district that year , plus we just moved up from 18-2A . West was picked dead last in 17-3A McGregor was picked to win it and was the bully on the block (went to state the year before) but West won in a 3 way tie or tridistrict championship.  Hamshire was 10-1 and favored to win , but evidently West (8-3) didnt see it that way and ran that misdirection wing t /slot down our throats 35-12 and they would go on to play Van Vleck in semi finals . 

Houston vs Setx just look at the Vype Magazine football preview for Houston and Look at the preview for the Setx . You had teams pictured with Volleyball players on the same page ?  My point is its like Setx  (golden triangle) teams doesnt get the respect it once got . A lot of us remember Bill Mcmurry Greater Houston Football Magazine we were covered very well in those mags because well teams were making deep playoff runs . What was the last team from the area that won state ? Im gonna name teams from the last 40 years 1975 Png , 1976 Hebert ,  ,  1982 westbrook ,  1986 -1987 wos . Now i guess you can throw in newton , but like i said before im really talking about the golden triangle . I guess we can throw 1976 Barbers Hills , and 1979 hull diaesta since its Setx . Thats 7 state championships in a 10 year span (9 if you count newton 1998 and 2005 ) and 5 from the golden triangle.  I left the area in 1987 and started back following football from back home in 2012 and im shocked that it hasnt been a state champ from the GT area since 1987 .

Hamshire Fannett sophmomre  Tyresse White who has taken a ton of pressure off of King with 1,041 yrds 15 tds in 11 games thus far .  One of the top backs returning next year in 9- 4A .

last time i looked at their schedule they played 11 games which would mean  they indeed played somebody.  Just facts 

For jasper too have a chance they better bring their defense and pack a lunch . Eppler and dickson are  on another level their numbers since 2013 are insane ! Like to see jasper pull it out but it seems to me like when teams from the area meet up with these teams that are prolific in their passing offense or offense in general it seems like teams from the area  dont  fair to well . What is over looked is navasota defense who is missing an all atate linebacker due to injury in i think the 4th week . Pitched 3 shutouts , gave up 7 , 6 , 12,12, and the most points they gave up was 21 points and 16 Saturday.  We all know these games were over by the second qtr . No one is talking about their defense.  Fun fact Eppler was an offensive lineman 4 years ago .
