I believe each offense  had a 12th man who hurt them and it was the wind.  Johnson had some nice curves balls when that wind lifted the ball.  Silsbee had some mental mistakes that the kids must overcome as the competition stiffens.

I put A Thread on here last night so we Deweyville Fans could talk about our football team and its coaches and some one deleted it Please leave this one. I really want to here from the people of Deweyville on the subject of our new coaching staff. I my self do not think any of the seniors or going to play for these coaches next year.Give me your thoughts

It is real simple....bashing coaches will not be tolerated.  Repeatedly this board has stated such.  If a tread has been deemed to cross the line it will be deleted.

These coach bashing threads are getting ridiculous.  It is always easy to sit in the stands and think you can coach.  If these people who dedicate their lives/careers for the betterment of your children are inferior then how about you guys get a teaching certification and get on the sidelines.  I'm sure there won't be anyone critical of your decisions in the stands.

20 years ago the Tigers had CE King in the first round at Sam Houston.  Silsbee jumped out early and never trailed.  The next week was a trip to the Dome.  Awesome year.

I have not heard much about Huffman.  Who in our district would they be most similar to?  Offense scheme?

Well as far as not making it past the 2nd or 3rd round, I unfortunetly would have to agree with you there.  Not meaning this in a bad way but the district WOS is in does not offer much competition which hurts WOS in the playoffs.  Again not wanting to offend any of the other schools, but the level of play, speed, strength and aggressiveness on the football field is not even close.

I vaguely remember an OT district game WOS narrowly escaped with this season.

hey aggie i seen the johnson kid highlight film and i think he's darn good but everytime i talk to someone from silsbee their like he's not good?? maybe just hating......

He is still just a jr. and learning the game.  For every 2-3 good plays he can make 1 questionable decision.  He is special but could reach an elite level with a little more work.

You're getting way ahead of yourself here.  HJ hasn't even played the district preseason favorites yet you think this is for a district championship? ???

That is definitely "old school".  It is sad for Jasper but it brings back memories of the old days when groups would camp and protect their old bonfires.  A lot of cool old traditions have died especially since A&M's tragedy 10 years ago.

I have no problem with school administrators enforcing the rules that are given out at the beginning of the year. But I have a huge problem with administrators who make up new rules and create more problems.

What is really sad is when rules have to be made to control what some students are doing!!!  If you do not know the whole story then you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about!!!  This is not the behavior that I want my children seeing.  Several schools have implemented the school dress code at all extra curricular activities, at least the administrators have not felt that this needs to be done yet!!!  Most adults that have ever been involved with children know that there is always another side to the story.  This is definitely not just a shirtless issue.

Sure there is a rule. A school official walked up and told the students to cover up. They have that authority on their property. The school officials can go as far as having offenders arrested for trespassing if they fail to leave when asked. I have seen that in person.

I don't see a problem with no shirts and think the principal is being too strict but when told to comply or leave, the students made their choice. How much of a rule do you need?

schools are funded with tax money, making them public property

you can't arrest someone for trespassing at an event in which they have paid for a ticket....

Sorry Vidor Pirate, not only can you be arrested for trespassing on school grounds, there is a special law just for that.

TEXAS EDUCATION CODE

§ 37.107.  TRESPASS ON SCHOOL GROUNDS.  An unauthorized

person who trespasses on the grounds of any school district of this

state commits an offense.  An offense under this section is a Class

C misdemeanor.

I've seen several people, including students from that particular school, arrested for trespassing on your "public property".

Absolutely correct.  I know of several trespass warnings currently issued to folks.  If they show up in the stadium they will be arrested.

There is probably way more to the story than the one side published in the paper. 

Unless I'm misreading, two of the posters here are creators of the "Scrubs" from last season and appear to even be questioning the students' actions.

The one when the Tigers were at the Bulldogs's 3 yard line really hurt, ended up being a loss of 25 yards, Silsbee squandered a great scoring opportunity.

I have not really said much about that play, but a spread shotgun formation at the 3? ??? After the awesome Tiger play that got it at the 3 I was hoping Castle would go in under center and run up the middle.  We ran a play against Kelly last week when we turned it over at the goalline.  Is this what happened to WOS in the playoffs 2 seasons ago?

At any rate the defense has greatly improved in rush defense.  The pass defense is still a little suspect but things are improving.

What were Johnson's final stats?  He seemed to struggle at times but he should have some gaudy stats.

Silsbee's floor was removed today.  New floor should be in place by season.

Just got word that the repairs will be done in time for district for sure and maybe a little sooner.  Maybe several road games to start the season.

So their insurance is already kicking in?  That would be very quick if true. 

Silsbee has suffered damage to their floor.  The middle school (old hs) suffered damage as well but they were trying to save the floor.  It may be like the '05-'06 season with games at the ms.  I'll know more in a few days.

Yet the only county that didn't have a mandatory evacuation is still at 8 p.m. :-[ :-\
