Pirates 42 GCM 28 w/11:10 left to play

Feels like freakin déjà vu from last week

Halftime amazing as always.
Come on Pirates, let's see a great 2nd half.

I heard they were big ... but cumbersome... and only had the one big back... and if we shut him down... they were pretty much dead in the water... 

Our boys have some major things to work on, putting 4 full qtrs of football together for one.  Every week we come out strong and go in to the half with a good lead only to have a completely different team show up after the half and get beat in the second half, or come from behind after the half only to lose by a few. 
 
I'm not quite, I just understand this is 16/17 y/o boys here that put their heart out on that field every single Friday Night and we as Pirate faithful believe in them regardless if we go 7-0 or 0-7 in district.
 
PS - at least GCM gets to watch our fabulous lights out halftime this week.

4 years ago almost to the week, WO-S was gearing up to play it's first game in 2 weeks. Two weeks prior, as everyone around here surely remembers, their starting QB Reggie Garrett had passed away on the sidelines of one of their games. It stunned not just the area, but the whole state. The next weeks game was cancelled so when they resumed play, it was a home game for WO-S, and it was against Kirbyville. Oh man I'll never forget it..... ~ WO-S received the opening kickoff and the receiver was tackled. What happened next brought tears and cheers across the whole stadium. The players for both sides took the field but something was a little odd. The play clock started, but the WO-S players just stood there with their hands held out. It took a second to sink in, but it seemed like everyone in the stadium realized what was going on all at the same time. They were holding out one finger on one hand and two fingers on the other...signifying a '12'. That was Reggie's number. They were out there with only 10 players......no one at the QB position.....and were going to let the play clock run down prepared to take a penalty in honor of their fallen teammate. Both bleachers came alive with cheers and crying and applause in approval and appreciation of what was going on. The clock ticked down and the penalty flag was thrown, but in a show of sportsmanship, Kirbyville declined it. It was an awesome thing to see that I'll never forget. I just wanted to share it..

One fumble and 2 interceptions. When they throw deep, he seems to throw it a little too short and it gets picked off. The QB is a beast to take down when he runs with the ball.

Ozen recovered 2 onside kicks back to back. We were on 4th down twice and instead of punting it away, we ran and guess what, got stopped short of the first BOTH TIMES and gave Ozen great field advantage.

Why is Ozen throwing?

Our undefeated streak at Da Boneyard in Beaumont is on the line ;-)

2010 we went 2 - 8 after our first playoff appearance in nine years. Lost five games by seven points or less. Lots of turnovers. A team loaded with sophomores and juniors. Sound familiar? Does history repeat itself or do you change it? There are gonna be quite a few with smart remarks after I post this...I don't care. I want to appeal to the Vidor Pirate players to not let this happen; I know you all read this board. Seniors, you have to lead this team. You have an opportunity to make a mark and make a good run for the postseason; you need to win 3 out of 5 games. You have an opportunity to start a legacy and continuing a new tradition at Vidor---WINNING. You have an opportunity to start this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Quit beating yourselves, concentrate, FIRE UP... 
 
OBLITERATE OZEN!!!!

Do anyone know what happen to Ozen player carried off the field during the Nederland game. And I have something to say about the Ozen team. I nevered liked the fact of a team sitting on the bench. I can understand a few but almost the whole team. I feel that is not being into the game, whether supporting your own teammates, or just using what you see to get motivated. It looked as if they just threw in the towel, and the coaches let them. This is just my thoughts but never give up on yourself or teammates.

I would absolutely expect to be silent during another religions time of worship if I were to put myself at an event that I knew would be attended by a majority from another religion.  I would do so out of respect and I honestly believe that most from other religions would feel the same.  I really dont believe that all of this is coming from religious people, I think most of the stink is being raised by those of no religion, the absolute minority that has very little respect for anything except their own beliefs.

I send prayers out to Nederland Bulldogs Jace Bordelon, who will find out the severity of his knee injury, that he suffered Friday night in Vidor. I been through this with my son, and knows how you are feeling right now. My advice don't just claim the worst, and if so we are still here to help you through it all.

I have always loved the fact that we pray before each and every home game, and I love the roar of "AMEN" throughout the stadium at the end.  Nederland is the first visiting team that I can ever recall cheering at the end of the prayer, and to that, I applaud all of you.
