I think Warrens pitcher was on an ag trip so Wilson probably pitched for them.If he was well, he's been sick the last couple of days.I heard Warrens catcher left the team on Monday.He was the last of a very promising group to give up the game.Sad to see whats happened to that program in the last 3 years.Will be a tough last half for the Warriors.

Kountze brings back everyone and basically everyone else takes some huge hits from graduation so I think 2-7 is wide open.Playoff spots will be fun but overall the district will be down a little.I think Hunter Davis is a fine player but he will struggle without any post presence.Roman Walker will have tons of help and will be the best player in this district next year.

What kind of stats did he have in high school?One of the few players in the area I didn't get to see.Congrats!!!

hdbasketball star.One of the few times I've disagreed with ya on this or any other topic.Thomas is the ultimate team leader.Early in his career he had CJ and Preston to dish to but this year EC went as far as he could take them.Vance was playing hurt and everyone else the Bucs had were role players made better by Thomas.I don't think the roles would have changed if the players would have changed places,Tramain would still have been the PG and Marsh would still have played the post.Simply because thats where there strengths put them.I don't buy in to the small school arguement at all,if you can play at 2-a you can play at 4-a if you have talent.Just for arguments sake Kountze's next Gamble all star won't be Brae,it will be Walker.This kids upside is tremendous.

Easy there basketball coach.I said I was a big fan of both Tramain and Marsh but we're gonna have to disagree on this one.Tramain is a true point guard,would be regardless of who he played for.He can penetrate and dish ,that was the reason EC was successful,he kept them all involved.Marsh on the other hand played well at the post with his back to the basket.He has great hands and can shoot the 10-12 ft jumper very well.I don't see him as a 2 or 3 on any team,much less the Gamble club simply because he doesn't hanle the ball real well or shoot the long ball very much.He would have a little trouble posting the "bigs" up that the Houston club will bring.Looking at the stats however he may have had the edge on Hammonds had he gotten the exposure.I did see both Thomas and Marsh play alot over the past 2 seasons and last summer thats where I formed my opinion.Both kids should be congratulated on great years.

I am a big fan of both Thomas and Marsh but the Gamble guys got it right.Tramain was not surrounded by stars,McDonald played hurt and wasn't his dominant self by any stretch and Raymond was pretty much a non factor in the games I saw EC play.They were good because Tramain made everyone around him better.Marsh had a great year but his strength was rebounding and putting the short stuff back in.He would struggle with the long ball and ballhandling in an all star game and is a little light to play the post against the 225 lb post guys.Hammond is the only kid I haven't seen so I can't comment on him but the rest are solid.I was simply making a comment about Tramain being the district MVP,I knew Marsh was the Offensive MVP.I don't buy the 4-A ,5-A argument though because the small school guys on this team are every bit as good as the big ones.Should be a entertaining game,look for Bernard to get some new found respect before its over

Kountze was ahead 8-2 in the top of the second.Warren simply has to many kids that have decided not to play.It's a shame to see the program in the shape it's in.On the upside Coach Dickinson knows the game and if he stays will eventually turn it around.Good luck to the guys that are playing,they are playing hard.

Dawg, Did you ever find out which kid moved to Silsbee? I think Walker will be fine,he improved every game last year and was Kountze's best player the second half of district and in the playoffs.He's just a sophomore so I think talking D1 is a little bit of a stretch at this point.Some kids continue to improve,hopefully he is one of them.

While Marsh is an excellent player he was not the district MVP.That honor went to Tramain Thomas and rightfully so. Marsh is a great kid who I got to watch a lot over the past 2 seasons and the last 2 summers but he is a classic tweener.He played the post at Hardin because of his jumping ability but is probably a little light to play with the post players on the Gamble team.As far as the outside players he definitely wouldn't replace any of those guys,they can all penetrate and shoot the long ball.That being said,he had a great season and literally carried Hardin this past season.I believe he could play receiver at a smaller college,he has good speed and great hands.Overall the Gamble guys did a good job.It's to bad they don't have a slam dunk contest and a 3 point contest to showcase some of these other kids that would be a real crowd pleaser.

The best player Kountze had at the end of the season by far.Dawg did you ever find out who Kountze was losing??

I wasn't slighting Moten,the kid can play.While I didn't see him play during the season I always saw his name in the box scores,especially in the bigger games.

Your gonna have to take out the dash Buc08.It was 26-2 with 1 out in the second.It was not pretty on either side.Not sure about a final,they turned off the scoreboard.Spurger used to alays be pretty good,not sure what happened there :-\ :-\ :-\

Congrats to all the guys on the list.There are some super players from top to bottom.I wouldn't want to get in a shootout with the honorable mention guys,Bailey,Spikes,Sims and Sheffield can all fill it up.Not sure averages had alot to do with the list,there are several kids on honorable mention list that averaged 20 a game.At any rate thanks for giving the kids there props there hard work should be noticed.

How in the world does Stephen Moten make all region and not make 1st team all district.I would take the first 2 picks on the second team any day.Moten always stepped up in the big games and Ward is as solid as they come,he just didn't have any help : : :

Kountze should be untouchable next year.Anahuac will be pretty solid also if they stay elgible.Hunter Davis will be solid at Hardin but will have very little help with Daniel gone.EC may make a playoff run but it will be difficult without Tramain.This district graduated some very good ballplayers and don't forget New Waverly is coming back to region 3 and they were real young.

I don't think Vance was over his shoulder injury all year,he played with tremendous heart but the injury affected his play.Raymond was a force on the boards but I don't the he averaged in double figures during district.My statement isn't a knock on Coach Scott,I just think Hank did a super job this season with a club that was predominantly led by Tramain.And I honestly think Hardins overall talent level was very good.Marsh and Davis could have been lethal inside out and Nolan and Day could also have posed some huge problems.They matched up well enough to beat them a couple of times.I certainly am not knocking either coach of the year just think Hargraves is sometimes overlooked,he does a tremendous job preparing his club and making adjustments during the game.

Congrats to a super young man.That is a huge honor because McKinney and Whittacre are both really top notch players also.I haven't seen this district list yet but BS just got eliminated Saturday.

I heard yesterday KB has been selected to play in Texas Girls All Star game this summer in Arlington, Texas.Congrats KB on this selection,this is quite an honor for a special player.

Congrats to all the guys.I gotta agree with Bleed Orange on the numbers though.Ten on the second team kind of waters down the club.I know there are always differences in opinion but 2 that stand out to me on the second team are Matt Andrews and Hunter Davis, both these kids could play. I also think Hargraves has got to be in the coach of the year box,he did an absolutely great job with basically a one man club.JMO

Winning state is never easy ,EC will be way down without Thomas but so is everyone else in the district except Kountze.FYI-New Waverly is coming back to region 3 next year and they are as young as Kountze ;)
