9 in an entire game , about 2 per quarter.......That does not sound like a game changer to me........

The stats are accurate, just have them listed under wrong team.
There were only 9 penalties accepted in the game.

Yes I was feeling something was wrong with these stats. Lumberton never punted and Ozen definitely did so the credibility of these stats are false. I know Ozen had way more penalties than Lumberton but like I said Lumberton won the battle of the trenches and the game. Hats off to them. Hopefully we can get some of that home cooking delivered this weekend against Nederland! Lol

It's just a game Buddy and we are fans and they are kids so we cheer and they compete. I would like for them to experience winning every game but sometimes loosing teaches them to deal with failures and we as parents must lead by example. Thanks and good luck to your Titans!

Thanks and you are correct because it always falls back on the coaches whether they have the right personnel in place or offensive or defensive plan. It's crazy but one brother was blocked into the other and he received that injury. Hopefully it's just bruised and he'll be able to return especially since he missed most all of his Jr. year with a thumb injury. I don't know why they don't use the other who is learning to play corner, on offense some because everyone around except the coaches know he's a big offensive threat with the ball and blocks well. #18 should be utilized more but hey i'm not the coach and we will just ride the ship. Baseball is life for some of these kids anyway but they will compete for their school anyway they can. The more physical, better prepared and performers won that night. Good Luck to those Raiders!

I played high school and college ball, and I have coached all the way through the high school varsity ranks. I have seen PLENTY both for and against my teams. I just don't want there to be a footnote as to why the Raiders won regarding calls.  It wasn't home cooking...just poor calls. If you want to add a footnote, say something about Ozens poor coaching, which has way more to do with the loss more than anything. And instead of being demoralized by the crappy calls, hopefully the coaches will teach the boys to make the adversity drive them harder instead like it sounds like you have with your sons. Like I told my PEEWEE football players whenI used to coach........if you let a Ref decide the outcome of a game, you were never good enough to win the game to begin with.
 

IMO...Ozen is loaded with talent but that talent has to be coached up and developed and BISD has not done the best of job putting the right folks in charge of Ozen Football.  In addition, you also can't continue a revolving door either...Kids have to be coach-able and that starts off the field...plus, coaches have to coach and together they gotta have heart. When Ozen becomes a team with kids that want to be coached and coaches that want to coach...Ozen will play as team and execute. I keep waiting for that year to occur and watch Ozen roll...if your a football guy than you know thats special and fun to watch.

I posted earlier that Lumberton was not 3 Scores better than Ozen. But Ozen needs to take a look in the mirror. Their coaching was very poor. Flagrant penalties (especially defensive offsides) killed them. Personal fouls killed them. The inability to approach Lumberton with an informed game plan killed them. The inability to adapt to Lumberton strengths and weaknesses killed them. Even their inability to utilize their best players killed them. Still can't figure out why they didn't expose the Receiver vs Corner mismatch. Ozen's receiver no. 18 should've had 8+ catches and 3+ TD's. There was no home cooking. If you want to blame somebody or some thing, go ahead and take a shot at the head coach. He is responsible for preparing his team & the game plan, recognizing his team's and his opponent's strengths and weaknesses and being able to make adjustments before and during the game to be able to expose those strengths and weaknesses to his team's advantage. Ozen's coach did not achieve those goals and his team lost. Bottom line. Yes I was there and saw each snap firsthand.

Gotta give it to the Raiders and Coach Babin. They ran the zone read very well and in fact the QB never pulled it and ran with it.  Ozen stacked 11 in the box and the plethora of backs for Lumberton kept getting 5+ yard avg on each run.  After all Babin was a RB in HS and CFB.  He knows how to coach them.  They threw when they wanted to and are very effective with it.  DC made good adjustments at the half and the D only got better.  They had about 3-4 coverage sacks in the 2nd half and had the Ozen QB running for his life.  They may not be large in size but they will get after you.  Loved the Wildcat package with #33.  That kid is a load...heck all their RB's are good!  Proud of the Raiders!

They were the underdog last night and dominated. That has to be a HUGE confidence builder. I say Lumberton by 1 score..... 

To blame refs when u get beat by 22 is desperate and not willing to be honest with yourself in regards to where your team stands. Lumberton players are disciplined they exicute and are coachable. They play with heart and with gritty  football instincts. Now give me some insight on Ozens players beside being tremendous athletes.

Any thoughts on that analysis now??? Lol.
