4. Let the rest of this season play out Longhorns.  When you have a total overhaul you don't always see the results that season or the very next.  It is as much about attitude and effort as it is talent.  Everyone one of Coach Price's teams have played with a great attitude and a great effort.  Eventually the offseason program will begin showing on the field, just like "well coached execution".  I can promise the talent pool in BH isn't that much greater than in HF.  Let this season run it's course and put another class of Longhorns through the offseason program and the Price system.  I can assure you that results will follow.  I know its hard to watch now but success is coming.

Again I say.. 38 points"" In regards to the late hit by #32.  I saw the play live, saw the replay, saw it on film and then read YALL'S local newspaper article on the game.  Ned's QB was ONE STEP out of bounds (even says it in the paper)...#32 was coming full speed.  It was a late hit, it was a personal foul and it cost us 15 yards and a starting safety.  Not only that but it helped lead to yall's only TD drive.  I am in NO WAY trying to take anything away from Nederland's players or coaches.  They played their hearts out and kept trading hits in the mouth all night. But you have to get off of this as being a "classless" or "intentional" cheap shot to take out a QB. It's absolutely ridiculous.  Please take your own advice and move on to something else.  The Dog's defense stuffed us pretty much all night and held us to only 2 TDs.  The Eagle's returned the favor and held the Dog's below your "38" AND "14" predicted points output. So move on to something else and yall go handle business with Vidor next week. I wouldn't have even responded to this if you would've said "Yall should've won" or "It was terrible officiating" but you are attacking the character of a quality young man that doesn't deserve it.  He's a "yes sir, no sir" type of kid and you are flat wrong.  Good luck with Vidor next week...yall should come out on top.  I'm done with this topic and you should be too.
Mr. Blitz if you believe everything you read in the paper then you will lead a rough life. I have been to that stadium since the '60s and there is no way that bench is anywhere close to a foot out of bounds! Unless you were sitting on the Nederland side then it would have been real tough for you to see the play because there were to many players in the way. As far as the video goes they don't tell all the facts because they are never at the right angle! Last but not least, how would you feel if it were your QB? I am sure you guys would be throwing a party for the opposing team right! And you are correct in one thing, it's over and you can't go back and change anything, if the officiating is bad don't use that group again and move on!
Trust me Dawgnut....I don't always believe the newspapers, especially those liberal ones!  :D  The reason I referenced it in there is because the hometown paper generally leans in favor of the home team.  I agree, the bench is no where near a foot out of bounds but when a LB is going full speed and hits a QB from the side...the QB is going to land a lot further away than one foot.  The video angle I saw was from the endzone about 20 feet off the ground...trust me, there was nothing in the way and it was a great angle.  QB was one step out of bounds, period.  I completely understand yall being upset, as any team would be...especially with him being injured.  I have no problem with that, my issue is with some of the folks on here (especially GoDogs27) attacking a young man's character when it is completely false and unwarranted.  His ridiculous and ignorant response to my previous post doesn't even deserve a reply.  Let's just all be thankful that the majority of us on here don't share his distorted view ("as far as he's concerned").  Dawgnut, yall have a HELL of a team and will be tough to beat the rest of the year.  Best of luck to yall.

 8. Haven't seen Eisenhower play recently but I think with Dayton coming off a close loss they will be ready to come out swinging.  Hope they get back on track next week! Dayton      24 Eisenhower 17
 9. Sounds like this was a heavyweight bout that went down to the wire.  Wish the Broncos could have came out on top....seems like this game could have went either way just like the Hill and Nederland.  Congrats to both teams on a hard fought game...I think we all know that Dayton will be coming out with a vengeance next week...and to be honest I'm glad BH isn't going to be on the receiving end of it.  We'll gladly let yall take your frustration out on Eisenhower while we game plan and heal up over the bi-week  ;D Nothing to get down about Broncos, a young team getting battle-tested early will only make yall stronger and help yall carry that 19-4A flag deep into the playoffs.  Hope the Broncos and the Eagles get to play each other twice this year!  Congrats to Angleton on beating a SOLID football team.
 10.
It was 3 yards out of bounds! Obviously it was intentional! Sorry to BH fans if I seem a little cold but we've lost our starting QB early each season for several years now. It gets old. Especially on such a cheap, classless, plowing into the bench several yards out of bounds!
He definitely wasn't 3 yards out of bounds....and if you disagree just ask for the game film.....he was one full step out of bounds, not 3 yards.  Was it dumb....yeah and its a shame that the kid got hurt.  Definitely WAS NOT classless though....#32 has played full speed and with reckless abandon since he was 7 yrs old.  Tonight it got him a 15 yard penalty, a huge momentum swing in the game and a starting safety ejected for the melee afterwards.  If the refs would've thought it was classless and with the intention to knock him into a bench they would've ejected him. Regardless, it was a HARD fought game by two very physical teams.  I was impressed with Nederland's defense and running back.  #25 on D also made a quite a few solid plays.  I hate that the late hit put a negative spin on the game but it was a GREAT game regardless of who you were rooting for.  That is was Texas High School football is all about.  I'll be hoarse for a week now and probably shaved 3 years off of my life from the crazy finish. I know a few folks have said it but I was puzzled as to why Nederland didn't place the ball in the middle of the field when it was only 3rd down and with time outs left. Yall's kicker has a BIG leg though....geez he banged the OT FG in with 15+ yards to spare.  BH definitely digressed on offense.  Taking a snap from the center seems so simple....but tonight that was not the case.  On the bright side BH RBs looked solid and I absolutely love the way #20 runs the ball.  Always able to square his shoulders getting downhill and always falls forward. BH defense played their butt's off and made some big plays when they had too.  I am more and more impressed with the LB corp every week.  Every single one of them #32/#33/#40/#28 played an excellent game and brought the hat.  It's been a while since I've seen a group of LBs this talented at BH.  One thing that did bother me on D tonight was the cushions that we were giving them on short yardage situations at CB.  At least 3 times we were playing 8-10 yds off the ball when it was 3 yds or less for the first down. Very puzzling to me. All in all....Nederland is a very good football team and will make a lot of noise this year.  If they stay healthy Livingston better be ready for a war.  BH still has A LOT of work to do over the bi-week before they go toe to toe with Dayton.  Good luck to the Dogs from here on out.  Very sorry to see the QB get hurt, wishing him a fast recovery.
 11. Sticking with my prediction... Barbers Hill 24 Nederland  14 ...and the Eagle D scores a TD this week. Doesn't get any better than a Friday night full of big hits in the Lone Star State! Let's go get it Eagles!!!

 13. Silsbee is off to a good start but don't let Lumberton's 0-2 record fool you.  They played BH tough until they had a couple break downs in the secondary in the second half.  They aren't the most talented team but they play hard and play to the final buzzer.  I think this one will be a lot closer than most think.

 15.
BH is gonna be big and physical and try to control the game on the ground, much like they did last year...BH did pretty much control the game for 3 quarters last year until Big Ned almost pulled it out in the 4th...Nederland did go into that game with a rash of injuries and we had numerous starters not suited out...I really do look for another close, competetive game...Nederland will have to control BH's running game and BH will have to find a way to control Nederland's passing game...whichever team wins the turnover and field position battles will win this game, IMO
Probably the best post thus far on this thread...just hate that it came from a Dog fan  ;) Sounds like Nederland has a couple of key guys out again this year, as does BH.  Hopefully if nothing else both teams can finish the contest as healthy as they came in.  Friday can't get here fast enough!

After taking everything into account, the Dogs win this one big, by 20 or more. First home game of the season, the house will be rockin. The running game for Nederland is good, not great, but if BH has a slow defense, watch out. I use the term slow loosely, after WO-S who is lightening fast and GCM who has some speed, I think Nederland will be able to attack at line of scrimmage much better. As for the passing game, Raines through the air to Shaw all night. Biggest weakness is kickoff coverage, if we've improved that this week, its going to be a loooooong night for BH. Score: Nederland-38 BH-10o Shaw all night. Biggest weakness is kickoff coverage, if we've improved that this week, its going to be a loooooong night for BH. Score: Nederland-38 BH-10
If BH doesnt turn the ball over its gonna be hard to put up 38 with the ball control O that BH runs  ;)IMO
The Dogs have a ball control defense, if you think you will drive the field all night on them you better get a new game plan, they don't give up many long drives they have given up a few long runs but not long drives.
"Ball control defense" is definitely a new term to me, heard of it on offense but not on D.  Let me start this by saying, I LOVE being the underdog.  Now let me continue this by saying, I don't think we're the underdog in this one.  Nederland is definitely a solid playoff caliber team but I think many folks are overcompensating for the two teams that BH has started the season with.  Santa Fe was awful and the score reflected it.  Lumberton was a solid team that will finish over .500. If Nederland thinks they are going to be scoring a bunch of points (38...really?) or controlling the clock....they will be in for a rude awakening.  BH had some break downs in the secondary last week against a sub-par passing game but I can assure that there will be plenty of attention paid to those mistakes in the coming week of practice.  BH hasn't faced much speed thus far nor have they faced anyone that can air it out.  I look forward to seeing exactly how they handle both this week with Nederland.  It should be a good ole fashioned slugfest.  My prediction is: Barbers Hill 24 Nederland  14 ...and the Eagle D scores a TD this week.
 20.
Lumberton's LB's are solid and gave us problems all night.  Also, Lum missed a few open passes. They ain't bad though. Gonna win some games.  I think we just wore the Lum D down over the course the game and BH D looked very good.  Concerned about how we will do against a good spread/throwing offense though.  Good job overall Eagles!
Spot on HillGuy.  I really like our physicality but we have to be able to defend the pass better than we did tonight.  Struggled against a weak air attack.  You can only bring so much pressure when they're throwing from the gun or taking 3 step drops.  Definitely have to improve in man coverage and getting the safeties over the top.  Nonetheless, overall we looked well conditioned and pretty disciplined.  Just have to keep getting better each week.  Hats off to Lumberton, their kids played hard and didn't let up until the final buzzer.  They will be just fine in district play.
 21.
How does the field look?
Field looks really good, if only we didn't have a 27 in. TV as our "jumbo"tron  :D L-Train didn't even fill up 40% of our visitors side, so we're making progress!
 22.
7-0 at the half, I thought the Raiders spiked the ball with 0.6 seconds on the clock but the ref ref disagrees.
They did spike it in time to stop the clock but it was third down and they spiked fourth down, so it would've been turn over on downs regardless. Eagles get the ball back for the second half. Looks like its going to be a smash mouth game. Both sides are playing well. If we can't throw the ball any better than this its going to be tough to keep 8 and 9 guys out of the box against the run.

 24. 7 pm just can't come fast enough!  I know the Eagles can't wait to splatter powder blue and red all over that new turf!  ;D My prediction still stands...I think Lumberton is better than many folks give them credit for.  That Eagle D is going to be swarming to the ball all night though!
