Could happen... That will depend some on the mentality of BH. Could they have a big head after the win against Santa Fe? Not allowing Santa Fe to score. Being mentally ready is as important as being physically ready. IMO... ;)
That is very true octfeb....but at the same time I think there were some confidence issues last year.  Once a Defense develops that swagger and they believe they can hit you in the mouth all night and shut you out.....then the entire level of play rises.  I guess we'll just have to see which scenario plays out!  ;D

 3. This should be a better test for the Eagles but I think they pull it out at home.  This one might be closer than everyone thinks though.... Eagles D is athletic and experienced and I look for more of the same this week.  Hopefully both sides can stay healthy. Barbers Hill 20 Lumberton  10
 4.
Ok, honest assessment here.  First let me say this, holy freaking COW are our linebackers good and Denny, well don't tell him he is a Sophmore.  Kid just does not make mistakes.  A 40+ field goal, well enough said!  Keep that up lefty! For the honest assessment.  I think we are pretty darn small on our O-Line and we will have trouble moving the ball up the middle.  Maybe the coaches will get the right mix before Nederland.  One of our running backs getting hurt early didn't help.  Denny is a good enough passer we are going to have to use that to help keep the defense guessing.  Any team that stacks the line and rushes the corners are going to have a field day with our inability to run the ball up the middle.  Short passes could help that problem. It's early and that's the time to work out mistakes and all those penalties, especially personal fouls, has got to be cut down. Last and certainly NOT least, Denny has to stay healthy!  Looking forward to a better team, these last two were not any better than us playing our freshman team. We have to play mistake free quality football if we are to beat Nederland.  They are WELL coached and got size.
I don't know if I'd quite call the last two teams "not any better than us playing our freshmen team"  :D but I am looking forward to some stiffer competition to get a real gauge of this year's team.  I think the Eagles might have just started the Payback Tour...
 5.
Does anyone know what happened to #7?
I was told that it was a dislocated elbow but that it went back into place fairly quickly.  Hopefully he will be able to return in 2 - 3 weeks.  Definitely won't be throwing a ball anytime soon though. Great win last night.  Eagles looked very salty on D and fairly polished on offense but Santa Fe wasn't much to speak of.  Looking forward to a real test
 6. Reuter (SR), LB at Barbers Hill has been punishing folks for a couple seasons and Dolan (JR), outside LB and FB was drilling people in the scrimmage last week....ready to see some more of that from both of them at Santa Fe.
