And Nederland has beat teams from bigger schools plenty in the past, including PNG.   .  What was the excuse all those years Neumann sent them home packing?  They had a bigger enrollment then.   I wouldn't count on school size dictating the size of the fight in the Dog.  😈

My cell is 409-719-7042. Give me a call when you’re concerned about deliverables or budget. If it’s a real concern, I’ll at least tell you what I know in lieu of speculation. So far, no issues with stadium portion of bond. Just can’t fit the design and construction of press box, bathrooms, seating, etc. in before Fall 2020 season. No need to rush it OR hold out on turf installation. So many programs get to benefit by moving forward with the turf - our huge 300+ band, twirlers, flags, cheer, and westernaires won’t have to stay in the stands just because it’s a mud pit on the field. These groups put hours and hours in. Thankful they’ll get to showcase their talents too.

You're right.  Forgive me, the correct term is libel as it is written word  Just because the folks are too goodnatured to be bothered with the litigation doesn't mean that your beloved Mr. Klein has not committed the offense.
I confirmed the report about Ozen was liberlous as I directly contacted then-AD at Barbers Hill Ronnie Gage who assured me had no damage to their visitor locker room, as your beloved Mr. Klein had alleged in an article that I believe you posted here.  In fact, I recall posting Coach Gage's email response in its entirety.  Thus your beloved Mr. Klein published an allegation that was false, which is actionable defamation under tort law.
I confirmed the report was slander with the UIL who new of no investigation as to any athletic program in this area. So his allegations there are equal libel.
And then we now come to your beloved Mr. Klein's latest foray into the world of libel with regard to these communications, as well as his allegations last week that signs which described what the
It is covered in Texas Election Code, Section 255.003 which states:
Section 255.003. UNLAWFUL USE OF PUBLIC FUNDS FOR POLITICAL ADVERTISING
    (a) An officer or employee of a political subdivision may not knowingly spend or authorize the spending of public funds for political advertising.
    (b) Subsection (a) does not apply to a communication that factually describes the purposes of  a measure if the communication does not advocate passage or defeat of the measure.

So, as to Superintendent Perez:  How exactly do her e-mails violate the above Section?  They merely provide encouragement to vote on the measure, they certainly do not advocate passage or defeat of the measure.  So for Mr. Klein to allege that either the signs he show in his "Top Story" last week or the emails of Ms. Perez were the commission of a felony (which in itself is libel as violation of this provision is a Class A misdemeanor as stated in Sec. 255.003 (c)) does indeed meet the standards of actionable libel.
As to Ms. Bell, I think the story at least acknowledges that she is not an employee of a political subdivision.  For her to use her private e-mail account to send e-mails to teachers of Nederland ISD whose email addresses are available to the viewing public, is not use of government computers and of government databases.
You do not need a JD (which, yes, I do happen to have) to find this information.  In fact, the Texas Ethics Commission has quite a handy pamphlet in circulation which was rather easy to find:
This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up So, in summary, your correct.....it isn't slander (spoken defamation)....it is libel (written defamation).  I have shown examples of his commission of such transgressions, both in the past and in the present.
As I stated earlier, due to his constant aversion to the truth, no links to Mr Klein's paper shall be used in this forum.  You have been reminded of that and I will take any posting of links to his paper as you willful intent to ignore the prohibition.

If you have read an article, why didn't you post a link to the entire article?  Is it because it would reveal ALL that Board President Isom said?
    Well, I will:

This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Because the full quote on that matter was that, " I’m proud of the kids and how they’ve scored on tests,” she said. “Their grades and knowledge has increased. We have a very good superintendent who pushes teachers. I’m proud of the school district as whole.”
BUT, Mrs. Isom was asked about her position on the bond, "The Nederland Independent School District’s Citizens Advisory Committee met for the final time Wednesday to discuss a presentation to the board for a potential bond issue. Isom said she hopes a bond will pass come May.
“I’ve been through two other bonds that didn’t pass,” she said. “I hope this one will.”
At the final meeting, Isom said she was not sure of the rules about advocating for a potential bond issue, but she has been on record in the past saying she would like a new school facility."

I understand your position about the bond proposal and you are certainly free to express that opposition here.  However, I would hope that in the future, you would avoid the half truth's (Mrs. Isom's views on the state of the district) and outright lies (asserting that the BCISD was having to "cut programs" due to a bond issue that was voted down) that you have attempted to resort to the last few days.

I don't think anyone is trying to bamboozle anyone. Most people just budget on a monthly basis. It is easier to explain and understand what $156,000,000 million dollars looks like from a tax impact basis and how it affects a residence or business tax burden if its clearly broken down. No one is out advocating for the bond saying its a $0.038/hr increase on a $100k appraised residence and I don't think anyone has tried to hide the amount of the proposed bond. The proposed projects and their budgeted amounts have been posted here, on social media, in the board minutes, discussed over 6 months at various C.A.C. meetings, a citizen survey completed both online and via phone, etc.
The whole process has been extremely transparent, open to the public (even if you didn't want to be a member), and led by the C.A.C.
    Approximately $27.50 / month for a $100k house. = $330 annually
    Approximately $55 / month for a $200k house. = $660 annually.
    Approximately $82.50 / month for a $300k house. = $990 annually.
    Approximately $110 / month for a $400k house. = $1320 annually.
    Etc.
In regards to the pig comment, the Citizens Advisory Committee (C.A.C.) which was comprised of 80-100 members (both nominated and self-nominated), overwhelmingly supported "new" and not the type of bond passed in 2012.
Additionally, only the high school is proposed to be torn down. The improvements made at the other schools stay in place.

As I posted from the beginning.....

Well I guess I might be the BAD guy  here. LN was great for Nederland. He turned them from the laughing stock of the district into a contender for the DC yearly. I would think Nederland would be better off hiring Monte over an outsider. My reasons are this.. Nederland has been good at being a little above average. They are not making deep playoff runs on a regular basis. And we all know the facilities are not the best in the area, much less the state. That being said, I find it hard to believe they could get a better qualified, dedicated coach like Monte to replace LN. Big time coaches are looking for money, facilities, and athletes. Not bashing any Nederland coach or fan, because they have done better then everyone else in the district for years, and have been the only glimmer of hope many of years to go a few rounds. I just think as a whole, if I was looking for a place to coach.. I would first ask, why are bonds never passed in Nederland? Why do we have old facilities? And what does my feeder schools look like for athletes. And of course, how much money are you going to pay me!!! LN was a special coach that fit perfect in the city of Nederland. And IMO, you already have a guy on the staff that knows the city, fans, and families, that is dedicated, and has been mentored by LN for years... Good luck on whatever happens.... But as I have stated for years, you can never count out Nederland because of the LN factor.... It might be interesting now....

Neumann built a program, he didn't win in a season or two, he built a culture of winning and formula in the offseason with minute details that made it happen.  Barrow led the implementation of the program and knows the formula.  He was also a 3 sport guy in high school and led the girls softball team to the state tournament so I know he has an appreciation for all sports, not just football.  He has shown the ability to adapt the offense to Nederland's personnel, shifting in and out of different forms of the spread and even spending time under center when the personnel dictated.  What he did with Nederland's offense last year with the revolving door of young injured QB's says about all I need to know.  There you go, thoughts on why he will be successful as an AD and head football coach.
