2. ??? What's going on in this thread?  :-[
 3. ::)  I'll be back around basketball season.
 4. Prayers up for this young man's family! :'(

Too many "feelings" and alot of people getting their panties in a wad. Say something that "hits the admins in a wrong way" and your posts gets deleted, sometimes the whole thread! Pretty pitiful! WHATS THE PURPOSE OF THE BOARD IF SOMEONE CAN'T "SPEAK THEIR MIND?!" *This will more than likely be deleted if one of the admins don't agree with what I'm saying. To heck with it!* I've read and witnessed enough of the 'good ole boy' favoritism! If I get my account deleted, goodbye to everyone I've had the pleasure of chatting with.
I agree with you to some extent, but there has to be some limitations.  Its sort of like you are entitled to freedom of speech, but you are in trouble if you say "I've got a bomb" when you are in the airport.  Are you also suggesting that posters such as Dickie V, should have been given free reign to say and do what they wanted on this board?
I have no problem with "saying what you want to" but it gets pretty old when you say something that one of the "faithful" don't agree with, your post gets deleted.
Unfortunately it is not your board or my board and when the rules are violated they are violated.  If someone were on a public message board that your boss reads saying things that would lead him to believe you are not doing your job correctly or doing things inside your job that are unethical and the accusations were false would you be ok with it or would you want it deleted and done away with?
Again, it is a public message board sleepy. I'm not saying posts shouldn't be deleted when you talk about certain people DIRECTLY and list names, but when it boils down to someone not agreeing with something you say, that's pretty childish. But hey, that's how it's ran.

 11. :'( :'( Tobi Oyedeji, a star basketball player at Bellaire High School who had signed with Texas A&M, died in an early-morning car accident in Houston on Sunday. Oyedeji was driving a silver Toyota Avalon around 6:15 a.m. when he veered out of his lane and hit a Jeep head-on in the 14100 block of South Main in southwest Houston. The driver of the Jeep died at the scene. Oyedeji died later at Ben Taub General Hospital. to Houston Chronicle Story

I am always happy when a team from Texas does good. Even on the college level. Congrats to the Yates team because they do represent the great state of Texas. I think people have not responded because they are loyal to southeast Texas mainly the golden triangle. That is a normal response. Area's only support area teams. Do you think if a golden triangle team was number 1 in the country that people from houston would get on here and support that team? I don't think so. Normal reaction.
You missed the whole point. I was speaking on the criticism...but oh well. People are quick to criticize but slow to congratulate.
 13. I guess most of the people on the board are on vacation.  ::)
 14. I've saw how this coach has been criticized throughout the season and it speaks volumes on how this team was able to accomplish a MAJOR goal they set at the beginning of the season. They wanted to be #1 in THE NATION, not Texas, not the Southeastern Region, but the Nation. To all the naysayers and criticizers, what can you say now?
 15. "The Yates Lions can officially call themselves the No. 1 team in the nation. The latest national high school basketball polls were released on Monday and the back-to-back Class 4A state champions were listed atop all five of them, reaching a goal that they set for themselves back at the start of the season." "It's an unbelievable feeling because if you look what we've accomplished and the kind of kids we have at the school in that they all come from the same area - to go against people from all across the country and programs that recruit kids from all parts of the state and private schools and schools with 3,000-4,000 kids - and be able to do that is amazing," Yates coach Greg Wise said. "It's hard to put into words what a special feeling it is because I know how hard our kids worked. Their mindset at the beginning of the season was to be the best in the country." of story
 16.
tu one and done, who woulda thunk it? Well, come to think if it, I did. ;D Bottom line, tu just doesn't play very good team basketball.
Brown made a Freshman mistake of passing the ball to a sub-par free throw shooter. He keeps the ball, gets fouled, makes his free throws, they possibly win. Btw, what happened to Gary Johnson? Didn't look so good this season.
 17. IMO, Ben West should have gotten Coach of the Year.
 18.
After seeing Ldalou play Ponder I dont see how IN :o :o :o the heck they beat NW
Catman, Idalou packed it in and let New Waverly beat themselves with poor shooting from the outside. They also limited the offensive rebounds so New Waverly was one-and-done on the offensive end.
 19. Now Madison on a 15-4 run... 42-40 Estacado
 20. Estacado currently on a 14-0 run... Leading 38-25
 21.
Probably one of the best games I ever attended was the regional final in huntsville between kountze and buna, forget what year.  Kountze was down with very little time to play, one of the Hancock boys made a steal and passed it out for a game winning 3!  I think it was the 4th time we played buna that year, both teams were loaded.
It was in 2000. We were down 47-52 with 1:55 on the clock. (Remember it like it was yesterday). There was an intense rivalry with Buna for a few seasons and that was our 4th time playing them that year and our 3rd consecutive win against 'em. They were actually the last DISTRICT team to beat us at home on a last second free throw.
 22.
over 63-53.
Coop, I know its the State Tournament, but would you consider this an upset? Idalou was unranked....
 23.
Some teams know how to play when they get there and others don't!
Big city.....Bright lights!!!  8)
 24. I guess they've done it again.... :-\
 25.
New Waverly getting whipped right now. Down 25-16, shooting 2-55 (2-10 3s) & outrebounded 16-11.
They do this every year! Get to Austin act like they've never played basketball before!  Last year after I saw them play and beat Kountze, I felt like they wouldn't have a problem winning State. I felt the same way this year. >:( I guess they really can't play in big gyms!
