You have a few teams on occasion who have 6'6" and 6"7". The tallest players Kountze have had in recent memory are Clayton Busby (6"5") and Ashton Hall (6'5"). Both were All-State.
 2.
What team had the most disappointing finish of any team that you can remember? For Example: undefeated Silsbee team that lost in 1st round (tholden, larline, etc...) 2001 Kountze Lion team that lost to Wharton (thancock, tpeters, etc...)
I would say the 2001 Kountze team coached by Sutherland. They were 33-1 heading into a quarterfinal matchup with Wharton. Four starters returned from a State Semi-Finalist team the year before and a team with both Hancocks (Tramaine - Sr, Keithan - Fr), Trey Peters, Isiah & Curtis Morgan. This team was LOADED!
Dont forget the Puckett kid at 6' 2" and allot of hustle...he will do well. KTown will struggle for the next two years and then there is lots of talent coming in for the next 7 years. Lots to look forward too.
As long as they continue the streaks (District Champs & Home Court wins) I will be fine... :D
I take it you are talking district home court wins....HJ beat them in Kountze this year didn't they?
Yes, I was referring to district wins...

 5.
kountze had a 6'5" guy on varsity this year?
Yes, but he was a reserve. 4.6 ppg
 6.
how many of those guys are off the jv/freshman teams?
Jordan was brought up to the Varsity team at the end of last season and Jamazdon was on the freshman team. The rest were already on Varsity this past season.
 7.
DUANE JOUBERT is there coach right?
There are rumors that Joubert will be elsewhere next season.

 9. 53-36 NW....3rd qtr
 10.
That game should never have been played there. JMO ??? ::)
Game is over, but, its where New Waverly WANTED to play.  :-\ It is being said that they don't do too well in gyms with big spaces behind the goals and along the sidelines.
 11. Halftime: NW - 38 Arp - 27
 12. Wooohoooo!!! Congrats Panthers!!!! Man, I wish there could have been a 23-2A Regional Final Matchup!.... ;) ;)
 13. Skip Jackson (sp) - the guy who hit the half-court shot in 2000 to send Central to State
 14. Good luck Panthers! Geaux get em!
 15.
Hold your head up Lions. We had a great season. Don't worry about it, another Hardin County team will be at the house after this weekend.
I thought you were from Sour Lake, Nome, or China?! ???
 16. Kountze loses ALOT! It will be one of those 'rebuilding' years for us.  :-X (Remember the name Jordan Holmes) Roman Walker - 20.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.9 apg Devin Bray - 23.3 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 4.2 apg (Led team in scoring, rebounds and assists per game) David Johnson - 9.5 ppg Troy Whisenhant - 10.9 ppg (6th man) Demarcus Tealer - 7.0 ppg
 17.
It's funny how folks are saying Zay was the PG at Kountze. Most of what I saw was Brey or Walker bringing the ball up the floor, particularly in crunch time.
My bud! You hardly ever hear anyone from Kountze referring to him as the PG. I said it was a mistake at the beginning of the season as I've watched him since Little Dribblers and I know his strengths.
 18.

Lol... I wonder if the poster is a point guard in 2a.....
Lol that or the relative of one Best in 23-2a was zay mcdaniel
Buc, Zay was forced to play PG. His main position is SG.
 19.
How do you think Kountze would have done if they were in 3A?
We'd be right in the thick of it, Bobcat....
 20.
This game was a shocker to me. I thought the refs were horrible on both sides. That being said New Waverly played better and harder than Kountze.   Kountze did not block out and continued to let NW get uncontest fast break points. Kountze got outcoached and outplayed. I have no idea why Bray would be bringing the ball up.  Interior defense for Kountze was nonexistent. They definitely were not prepared for NW.
Wow!  I don't know who you are but you pretty much summed up the whole night for Kountze in those few sentences. Raw and uncut! :o
 21.
Harrison and one of the Watts kids is going to SFA for football.
Yep...i saw that as I was doing some research yesterday. Harrison as a WR Tyren Watts as a RB (rushed for 1592 yds and 19 TDs this past season)
 22.
But Team True Blue is also claiming they are Sour Lake bound.
Lmao! My laugh for today.... Evadale --> East Chambers --> Hardin-Jeff???
 23.
A buddy of mine said that people were standing 15 deep. He also said that one of the NW kids had the best dunk he has seen in a long time.
Yea....if the replay is still up, tune to about 15:30 on the clock. Towards the end of the 1st quarter. Pretty sick!
 24. Geaux Hardin County! *minus the Mighty Lions*  :'( :'( (I'm still hurtin  :D) Wouldn't be so bad if I didn't expect us to win.
 25. Congrats and good luck to both Hardin County teams.
