Football legs took over, should be an exciting year. Let the talk begin--where you at Kountze and Anahuac!!!
Ill tell you where Kountze is there playing HJ not Bridge City....
But you failed to say that when you played HJ and Silsbee you lost both of those games....
Prior to my post, no one from Kountze mentioned anything about Kountze. They only question the level of competition. Hopefully we get a chance to play your third team in three seasons (Evadale) in the upcoming tournament. >:( >:(
You dont need to Hope for the Tour. their on the schedule. But the way the bracket lookes this week they will prob play in the champshimp game this Sat night. Show some balls and stop by and say hello I will by you a Coke ;D You know I am not hard to find.
:D Dude, I have no idea who you are and what you look like. I've just noticed a few of your rash comments on this board since you've joined. Maybe you have me confused. I'll be in town this weekend fortunately for a family obligation and luckily I'll be able to check out Kountze in the Championship game. I'll say it again, maybe you have me confused. Trust me, I have no problem with "showing some balls" and "definitely stopping by." ::) :D ;) -

If there has been significant defeat for years/generations, believing in winning instead of almost winning, or we only lost by 10, etc is very hard to over come. 1st you must believe in yourself, then your team, and so on.
Yep! Losing will become a habit. It will rub off on others if you're not careful.
That's called "following the leader" :D :D :D :D :D *runs out laughing*

Looks like I'll be able to make it to the Championship Game on Saturday. The bracket is pretty bad though. Looks like Evadale has an "auto-bid" to the Championship no matter how many games they lose. ::) :D :D :D

I wouldn't care if you had 10 Seniors on a team, and 2 Freshmen who were better than all 10. My job is to win the game if if those Freshmen are going to help me do it, then so be it.
And I'm sure you feel this way because you're use to being in a winning environment. It gets lonely at the top doesn't it :)
Blue, we know what it takes to win. :D When I see a kid in middle school lighting up the nets in Kountze during our pick up games I can't wait to see him slip that Varsity uniform on his FRESHMAN year. :D :D You see where "team chemistry" and "loyalty" got Miami's coach Randy Shannon. Kountze ISD is an exemplary school district. If you're looking for a quality education, along with some good basketball, I have some real estate for sale in Kountze. ;)
:D Now if we can keep AggiesAre-Not off the phone from UIL ;D
:D :D AAW knows there's no rule against seeking a quality education. :D :D

So I guess being sub-par is the norm for H-F? Even with better athletes on your lower level teams that could make an immediate impact?
Goodness, I'm tired of seeing this!! Coach Richards has SOME reason for playing his kids at whatever level he chooses! I remember Coach Joubert sitting Devin Bray on the freshman team for some period of time also. IF the kids are good enough to take the place of the varsity point guard, then they eventually will. In the mean time, you folks are coming across as just the type of parents that HF has been known for recently!! PATIENCE!!!!! The season is still young!!!!!!
Key word. Period of time. Devin was on the freshman team to start the season because his attitude problem was evident. He played roughly 5 games on the Freshman team. It wasn't a question as to IF he would play Varsity as a freshman. He gave us a chance to win games and helped win some (2007 State Championship game vs. Shallowater) as a FRESHMAN. Again, what is the reason to have your best players playing on the JV and Freshman teams? What good is that doing for your program? The proof is in the pudding at H-F. Nothing is being accomplished and wins aren't being produced. What does chemistry have to do with it if you lose the majority of your games? I'm not from H-F so I have no clue.
-
What's the purpose of having some of the BEST players in your system on the Freshman and JV teams? That makes ZERO sense. You would NEVER see that at Kountze, H-J or Silsbee. Your Varsity team is supposed to be your BEST team at the high school level. H-F must really have some other issues going on.

Question for anyone who attended the game. Was Zay McDaniel's ineffectiveness tonight a result of H-J's defense? If not, what went wrong with him? 7 points?? :o :o -
I think kountze will be ok come district time.... all the ex and anahuac faithful who Are thinking theyy were gonna beat kountze will have another thing comin... good luck on your season hj
I heard the same also. Looks like they'll have to learn to play together as a team. The sooner that happens the more dangerous they'll become. Heard we did ourselves in tonight. Too many turnovers and missed layups. -

Joubert has yet to defeat Sutherland in a head-to-head matchup. Gonna be tough, but I think we'll play them close. HJ wins by 15-20. :(

When I played back in 97-99, the majority, if not all of the basketball players were on the football team and contributed GREATLY. Now that I look back, the problem wasn't the players, it's the lack of coaching that's on the sidelines. We had some horses on those teams. In fact, we were 3A at the time and won the district in basketball AND track one of those years I do believe. If I knew then, what I know now, we could have easily fielded some respectable teams.
