1. What's Jamazdon Powell's status? Is he expected to play this season or is it pretty much over for him at this point?
 2. For future references, his first name is actually spelled "Tramaine"
That is the talk but nothing official yet. Tremain did interview but the decision probably will not be made till next Thursday night at the board meeting.
Welcome to Winnie, Coach Hancock.
Congrats to my old teammate! *thumbs up*

 6.

Move? Unless it's away from Southeast Texas, for what?
I could see if his parents are moving. ;)
Could be on to something. Again, as long as it's out of Southeast Texas. But then again, that makes no sense either considering he's a KNOWN talent on the AAU "circuit".

OAN, this further strengthens my argument about kids transferring schools "within" Southeast Texas. Ain't that right, Dove?  :) ;)
Since Shawn was a student at HJ long before he participated in athletics, what is your point?
Steve, My point was not directed at, or in any way, on a knock on Shawn. Everyone knows Shawn has been at HJ. I was simply referencing a "discussion" Dove and I have had on this board a few times regarding the reasons behind kids transferring schools within Southeast Texas.
Unsigned seniors that are interested in playing need to call 832-493-0207 or email [email protected] as soon as possible so that final rosters can be set.  There is no cost to the player and is one more chance to get to play in front of college coaches to show them what you can do.  Each player will receive a free showcase jersey, play two games and have the opportunity to participate in a three point and dunk contest.  Some of the top unsigned senior talent has already signed up.  Don't pass up this great opportunity to show that you can play.
Free "marketing" for these seniors.
 9.
I watched Grayland play the other day and he is good maybe even great as a 8th grader, but he needs to work on his outside game. Those layups will be shut down at the Varsity level. He went about 1 for 10 from the field, If you think he will play in front of Darion I think you are mistaking, Darion is to quick and distributes the ball very well. He was the difference in the team last year in my opinion. They are also going to have to have someone step up and fill the shoe's on Lynn...High energy and easy baskets...Grayland might be able to start in front of Justin but then you take the best pure shooter off the court, Grayland will definitely get his playing time though...
We're on the same page.

 12. Same thing happened last year too, and the year before.... Nothing new here...  ::)

With Grayland, Corey Lowe, Xavier Barnes, and Dante McMahon coming off the bench. That's already 9 deep, not mentioning any JV players that will move up next year.
Why would you have the best player on varsity coming off the bench? Grayland will be a starter no doubt!
You are correct. He will be a starter, but I would not expect him to start until maybe half way through the season.
You could have 5 starters from say Bmt Ozen, all move to a 1A school, would you then call their games "not real" no? You never know what kind of athletes you''ll see in lower classifications, way more often than not, there is more talent in the higher classifications obviously, but some of these smaller schools especially in basketball can feature some big time players, Kountze Devin Bray, 6-3 200 pounds, he would have played on any team in the state 1-5A, so while he was out on the court and when his team was in Austin how could you say that's not 'real' basketball when you could have placed Bray on that HJ 3A team that was also at state and he would have been a force in that game, the 4a and the 5a state game, you can't say it's not real because you never know what kind of talent these small schools can come up with, but generally the last place team in a 2a district vs the 2nd to last place team won't be as exciting as two last place 5a teams going at it, but when talking about State tournaments, yes it's real basketball.
Well i agree with most of what your saying except the fact the Devin never made it to Austin, I watch him play 3 times that yr and was in the Gym when he lost to NW before they made it to Austin.
Devin was on the Kountze team and played when Kountze won the state championship in 2007, the same year HJ won the 3A title.
OH I did not know that.. He must have been a Freshman. Did he start as a Freshman???
he was prolly a  sophomore
He was a Freshman, did not start but made huge contributions throughout the year and especially at the Regional Tournament and State Tournament that year.

Were they not playing "REAL" basketball when they simply on changed "classifications?"
 16. Would you like all of us to solicit donations and get your nephew an All-Region plaque cbosha?
 17.
One more thing and i am done with this post forever. To the person that said my nephew would more then likely not get many touches with ozen that response is completely illogical. Lets think about this for a minute. Hardin-Jefferson was considered to be the best team in the area. With that being the case, if my nephew can start as a freshman and a sophmore for the best team, wouldn't it be logical to assume that he could also start for a less talented team?
Lol. Comical. I said nothing about him not starting. He will start wherever he goes in SE Texas. Maybe my post is a little too deep for you. Think about the Miami Heat's Big 3 (Bosh, Wade, James). On a team full of good players, it is only logical that someone's stats will suffer....
 18. If he goes to Ozen he'll be lucky to make the All-District team. No slight to his talent, but that team will be filled with good players and on a team like that your touches are very slim.
 19. Bottom line. Coaches NOMINATED these players. Maybe these same COACHES saw something you don't see.  ;)
 20. cbosha, Had your nephew made All-"Region", would there even be an issue with Johnson?
 21. Transferring to Beaumont, or anywhere is SE Texas for that matter, won't solve the problem. Dove and I touched on this a few weeks back....
 22.
Had no idea you were a woman, but now that explains it all...have a wonderful day ma'am, and good luck to your nephew...In whatever decision you guys make for him....wow.
;D ;D
