I will say this about Nederland.... History does not lie.  Over the past 15 years, this ball club has come together to play some great football.  No matter how many lettermen they had returning, they have always found a way to win. Great coaching and consistancy, conditioning and creating play makers seems to happen year after year on that side of the tracks.  

Nederland's playoffs for the last 20 years :
 
1993 - 1st round 1996 - 1st round 1997 - 2nd round 1998 - 3rd round 1999 - 3rd round 2000 - 3rd round 2001 - 4th round 2002 - 2nd round 2003 - 3rd round 2004 - 2nd round 2005 - 2nd round 2006 - 2nd round 2008 - 2nd round 2009 - 1st round 2010 - 1st round 2011 - 3rd round 2012 - 4th round 2013 - 3rd round   Moral of the story:  Ned has only gotten knocked out of the 1st round 4 times in the last 18 playoff runs.  So I wouldn't count them out!

I can appreciate the black and white of what the statistics say is returning and what people "think" Nederland has in the stable this year. There are things that happen in that Nederland program that are beyond returning letterman and x's and o's. A significant challenge is in front of this team, but the will not back down from it.

Do yall not understand we know who we are, and what we are facing. YES the streak will come to a end one day, with the key words being ONE DAY. And the team to stop it will be a well deserved team, because it won't come easy, What you don't understand is we might not be the fastest, biggest, or have the D1 recruits. What we do have is strong structure,self-discipline, and the will to not let ourselves down as well as our coaches down. Winning is not just done with the skills of the game, but with the knowledge to teach it as well. So come get that win and bring the paramedics with you. ONCE AGAIN I SAY "WE ARE NEDERLAND BULLDOGS"

I'm more intrigued at who would win a fight between a Tuna and a Lion.

In all honesty we must admit to win like that is a true accomplishment, because if we take a time to pause. Which one of any teams in our area has proven to be A STATE QUALITY TEAM, besides WOS honestly.We can yawn, laugh, but I will follow any team in our area and be proud if they are DC. If you not playing to take your DISTRICT, do you expect your team to take another.

True, but the last 21 or so have been pretty good.

There are a few posters that constantly bash or try to discredit anything positive that is posted by anyone supporting their school, family, neighbor, etc. Here's a suggestion, if you can't take it don't dish it. Bashing is not allowed, but constant negativity is rampant. That's fine it's a forum for debate, but when you are consistent & most posters on a thread call you out, don't get mad & try to threaten people. Be a grownup & comeback with something clever. We all have buttons that can be pushed & once someone finds it, just step away & remember this is for entertainment & exchanging info so no need to get so upset. If you find yourself in this predicament & can't handle yourself, I suggest you don't trade Barbs. We may not like what is being said, but no need to take things personal or get personal. I know I can go for days, but it's All in fun. Never serious, I sit back & read post & responses & laugh my butt off. If someone gets out of line I can get that way too & I have. What do you bring to the Table when the Talent isn't as good or the Season is going according to plan. That's how I judge my Talent. Obviously Crosby doesn't have these problems because they are so D1 loaded every year. Do us a favor an be adventerius and & "take a hike" or a long hiatus because you really bore me. That's why Neuman is a great coach. He is changing up his offenses to fit his strengths. Unlike other coaches who say this is what we do and try to make it work even when they don't have the personnel to do it. Ned will be tough again as the season goes on because they have a coach.

Neuman could bring any team in district 22-5A into the playoffs. He is an excellent coach and the reason for Neds success.

I see Beetlejuice 14 is still on here thinking he is every Team's Coach; knowing what every Coach is thinking or doing. You can go undefeated in pre-season, but means nothing if you don't make the playoffs. Crosby has very good athletes & Coaches, we are aware of that. You Sir getting on here as if Crosby is the measuring stick of perfection is ridiculous. At the end of the day, it's all about winning a State Title right?? Well how many has Crosby won lately. That's not a knock on Crosby, but on you. I'm sure those kids set out to do just that, but guys like you Taint the Valiant effort by placing your assessment of Success. I come from a program of " Title Town" and I thought that was how it is & should be. I found out later as a "grown man" those sentiments are so wrong. So many equations factor into winning a Title, not to mention making it a Tradition. If a Coach takes a lesser talented group & wins more games than "he" or other gurus expected, & raised the expectations of his Team, he has done his job. More importantly he has taught his players to overcome odds, built character & developed young men. Since you like " Winners" so much, why don't you look up Port Arthur Lincoln Basketball. Some of the best winners in any sport in this area ever. It does nothing for me today, just a nice conversation piece & something to throw back in the face of Arrogant guys like you. Nuemann has always treated non-district games as time to evaluate personnel and for the kids to learn the schemes.  There have been several times when we have on 1-2 or 0-3 in preseason because he schedules tough teams and still went several rounds deep in the playoffs.   I think we were 1-2 pre-district in 2001 and that season ended in the state semifinals.  So no, we don't concede games but also don't put alot of stock in them either because he is still making changes with personnel and offensive/defensive schemes at that point.

The only one that it means anything to is you.  Since you are the one blowing your horn about pre-district games.

I am not sure the preseason games mean much at all. That is al about rankings cause in the end district games mean everything. So hang your hat on the first game of the season. Beat your chest all you want but it isn't where you start but where you finish that matters

It must get old for all the fans to have those neck pains. And I mean from looking up at nederland the last few years. You gotta walk the walk. I know that everyone is gonna give nederland their best shot. It is gonna take that to beat em. Every district coach has thever nederland game circled on the schedule. Yall just come get ya some cause you gonna have to bring it to de thrown the Champs. Pre district don't mean jack either so yall keep talkin cause you are all talking about us.
