PNG has a entire team of sensational players !! It takes a team to win and not just one player. That's what it sounds like to me about Angleton, you put all your wins on the shoulders of one player. At PNG we start 22 players on O and D and they function as a well oiled machine. All the players on the sidelines can step in at anytime and fill the shoes of the starters as needed. Our coaches teach the fundamental of being a TEAM !!! No single player is put on a pedestal. These players at PNG are humble and smart.  They are the hardest working team in the state of TEXAS and it shows and is proven every game !!! [/quote] Actually, IMHO, he is very comparable to Cody Green.  Rollins and Gilbert are both much better passers than Green and Diggs, but not as good runners. As for the guy who says that 20-4A stands up well to 24-4A, citing to a couple of victories over the course of 3 years against the second tier teams in 24-4A hardly proves anything.  I have not looked at it, but I would bet that 24-4A has something like a .667 winnng percentage against 20-4A over that time period.  And, from what I have personally observed this year, the Angleton, Friendswood and Dawson teams are head and shoulders better than every team in 24-4A (with the possible exception of Central who I have yet to see play).  You may not like the way I say it, but I have a pretty good track record on these things, and I tell it like it is!

What PNG fans need to understand is that running the table on 20-4A teams hardly makes you world beaters, and shutting down the running game of slow teams like Vidor and Lumberton hardly makes you qualified to shut down Diggs and his Angleton brethren.  Friendswood's defense is light years better than PNG and they were not able to stop Angleton.  And Diggs is great, but he is hardly all that Angleton brings to the table.  If (and it's a big if) PNG advances far enough to play Angleton, it'll be over before it starts. 

ATWILDCAT has it right -- both Friendswood and Dawson clinch playoff berths (and fill up the Division 1 slots for the district) with wins this week, and both are heavily favored.  If either or both loses, then they will need to win their final district games (and Friendswood at least will be favored in that game as well). As for Angleton, we will be glad to see them play in the Division 2 playoffs.  And to you PNG fans, be careful what you ask for -- having seen both teams play this year, I would make Angleton a 24 point favorite if you played them in the playoffs.

Angleton is the clear no. 1, but Friendswood will beat everyone else. Dawson is next in line, but I don't see Dawson getting within 10 points of the Mustangs. As for an Angleton vs. Dayton matchup, watch out what you wish for. I'vee seen both teams, and there is no comparison. Angleton would win by at least 20 points. Sorry, but that is the truth!

Angleton is definitely the real deal. Not having Cole hurt, but I do not think that would have made up the difference, and Lifau did a pretty good job in Cole's stead. It was punch, counter punch for a while, but eventually the speed got to us.

Yes, that worked out soooooo well for Central last year, didn't it? HaHaHa!!!!!! And, yes, we lost to 5A Brazoswood. No excuses, they beat us. And, they also would blow out EVERY team from 20-4A.

Oh yes, what was I thinking!?!?! Vidor with its 10 point victories over a couple of mediocre TAPPS teams, and Central with its 1 point victory over Vidor have clearly shown themselves to be the two best teams around. ;D ;D ;D

Seriously, if 20-4A is the little SEC, then 24-4A is the little NFC East!!! If you lined them up and played, Angleton, LaMarque and Friendswood would beat any team from 20-4A, and I'm not sure Pearland Dawson couldn't do the same. Heck, even the dog team of 24-4A (Santa Fe) is undefeated before district play begins!

The word you used refers to a naming convention; typically for a set of things (like scientific names) and not spelling. But, do keep striving to play in the stratosphere--some day you will get close! And, I love how you guys react on cue!! The truth is that you guys say that you hate me because: 5. I am right and you are wrong. 4. I rely upon facts and you do not. 3. I don't run and hide on those rare occasions when FHS loses. 2.
