1. Wow -- While I was writing, Gabe the censor pulled down what Sharkie had written!  Unbelieveable!  Somebody needs to revoke his moderator privileges!!!
2. Perhaps Gabe needs to be on moderator probation!  ;D
3. Yes, I remember that great group, and I don't really see the analogy.  And, I appreciate the whole "mission" thing, but I think Midway's mission will end where it always does -- in a loss to Friendswood.
4. Gabieboy: Your censorship makes no sense.  My posts were well within the rules, and frankly, they generate traffic for your site.  As for Lumberton, they will have no chance against against a faster, more talented, more organizedc Midway team; and, of course, Midway will have no chance when they eventually play the MIGHTY LADY MUSTANGS!!!!!
5. Thanks Sharkie!  And, yeah, I can be way more irritating!  But, always truthful and accurate in stating facts, and generally right in my opinions!
6. To the Moderators: Why was my post deleted?  Nothing in it violated your rules? FF
7.
PNG Girls vs. Brenham 5pm Humble; Friday
PNG seems better this year, but I still see Brenham winning by 2-3 goals.
8.
we have friendswood also???
That is correct.  The annual game between Friendswood and Dayton is apparently a thing of the past (I would like to know why), but we did pick up a game vs. WOS.  I don't know if it is here or there, but I look forward to it.
9.
Good job FF.  You snuck in a little name calling, somewhat like my 7 year old niece.   I still want to know if you were proud of your girls after their 2nd place finish.   Did you say "great job" after a loss?
Being proud of a team that makes it the state championships is different from thinking they did a "great job" in a particular game.  So, yes I was very proud of the girls for making it that far (for the 4th year in a row).  But no, I did not think they did a "great job" in the Pearce game.
10.
You were picking at Kelly, as usual.   However, you still seem awful proud of your runner up finish last year, and would probably say 'great job, Mustangs".(which it was)    I don't see much difference.    And what makes you think that one poster speaks for all "Kelly fans"? You were right about one thing;   You are way off.
As usual, WrongEnd, you are mistaken!  I have done nothing but praise Kelly.  I simply thought it odd that someone would say great job after a loss, and not knowing FWAH, thought I would ask if they were satisifed with that result.  You obviously have issues with your team (whatever team that is), and that is sad -- but, hey, at least you are a student of the Lady Mustangs, so there is hope for you. And so long as being "way off" means being far different from you, then I am happy to be way off.
11. I was responding to the post saying that it sounded like Kelly did a great job.  And, I may be way off here, but I do not generally think that the Kelly Winter Classic is on a par with the UIL State Championship, so I do not accept your analogy.  However, to answer your question, it makes one wish we had Kelly's coach as coach of the Lady Mustangs!  Then, we would have won imo.
12.
I agree with CoachL.  There seems to be a lot of HF fans posting silly comments like HF will make the playoffs this season.  I even saw one poster predict HF would beat Lumberton in the PNG tourney.  These ridiculous posts have to be stopped.  Maybe all soccer related posts should be run through the regular posters for approval before being posted.  We definitely don't want more people talking about soccer in SE Texas.  Let's keep it between us regular soccer posters.
Congrats for an awesome response!  Keep it up and people will be hating you as much as they hate me!  ;D
13. I was kind of expecting/hoping Kelly would win it all.  Are the Kelly fans really satisfied with runner-up?
14. Here is a good article regarding the Lady Mustangs. [Hidden Content] Friendswood opened up with several "scrimmage" game wins, including a 3-1 victory over Katy Seven Lakes (the Region III, 5A Finalists from last year).
15. Look for both Friendswood teams to wim regional championships -- the girls for the 5th straight time (and 8th overall) and the boys for the 1st time!
16. BTW, I am assuming the request for a temporary restraining order was denied.  True? Also, from looking at the UIL website, it seems clear that the UIL is a creation, and a budgeted department, of the University of Texas.  If so, then arguing that the UIL is not properly registered as a non-profit organization and/or does not legally exist strike me as silly arguments that are guaranteed to lose.  It also appears that school districts are free to not become or not become members of the UIL.  However, if they do wish to become members, and to enjoy the rights of membership -- including the right to participate in UIL sanctioned sporting events -- then they must comply with the rules of the UIL, as established by the UIL.  So, the bottom line is that the UIL is pwerful because they offer mebership benefits that most schools find desirable.  regardless of whether it is because of money, or the perception that sports officiating needs to be improved, I see no reason why UIL cannot requlate its sanctioned events however they see fit.
17. I am not anti-anything in this deal; just trying to learn whether there exists any legitimate basis for all the rhetoric.  Nobody, including you Hector, has offered any rational explanation for what is so wrong with the UIL wanting to have control over the officiating at UIL sporting events.  That hardly strikes me as a remarkable, much less evil, development.  From what you guys have posted, it seems that those who have a beef with the UIL about this issue are likely to be motivated by their own desire to keep control, and the money, with themselves and their organization.  Hector, are you a TASO member?
18.

Call me "beyond blind" because I have no idea what you are talking about.  Can you shed some light on what you mean?
The scope of that answer goes far beyond the time I would have to spend typing it all in. I can say this: surf the net and do the research of the moves the UIL has made the last decade or so. The highly condensed version: More power + more control + more meddling = more $$$$$$$$$ for the UIL. Thats what it all about, and they are profoundly changing the universe of TX HS sports, at the expense of HS sports! I support TASO! Hope they win!
The fact that you cannot even even begin to explain your position makes me question whether you have a real basis for the anti-UIL postings.
19. Frankly, I suspect that I am better than you at just about everything.  Fortunately, however, I chose not to lie, whereas you are a proven liar!!!  ;)  And, you are not a very good one at that!!!    ;D  But, for you, maybe lying is one of your better skills!  :D
20. Westend, you are not even a good liar!  All anyone needs to do is go back to the baseball thread, and they will see that I posted a message congratulating the Nederland baseball team.  What's your next lie....?  ;D
21.

typical.   You and FF dish it out real well.  You are not good winners and you your aren't good losers.  Good thing it only happens a couple of times each year, huh?    Who's attitudes do you think we remember?     You guys already set the standard on "class acts"    I for one am happy to say, join us on the basketball courts.            :P
Hey WestEnd, the fact is that I was among the first on here to congratulate Dawson.  Unlike you, and others like you, I don't run and hide on those rare occasions (for me, not you) when my team loses!!!!
22. Nt disputing her talent, but why would you include someone who is injured and out for the year?
