Those predictions look pretty good.  I think the Vidor and Dayton games will be the closest as predicted.  Unfortunately, I think they will both be on the wrong side of the score.  But you never know.  That's why you play the game. 

I wasn't very confident that Brenham would even survive Region 3.  It's a tough region.  Just because Ozen defeated Brenham, doesn't mean they now can run the table.  They are still the underdog the rest of the way.  I'm taking Lamarque.

The more BCS chaos, the better.  Before I die, I hope to be filling out my college football playoff bracket.

The way 17-4A is crashing and burning, I think maybe it's Dayton's turn.

Might be a reverse sweep for 17-4A this week.  I never would have thought that could happen.

Unbelievable!  Yes, that confirms that Brenham was overrated.

No doubt we have a Coldspring - West Orange Stark collision course.  I'm still taking Coldspring, but it should be a good one.

This was a great game.  La Vega ran with Chapel Hill the whole game and easily could have won.  With the score 20-20, La Vega went for it on 4th and goal inside the one and was stopped with 1:32 left.  Looked like OT coming.  Chapel Hill took over and La Vega then used their timeouts to try and get the ball back.  3rd down from the 7 yd line, dude breaks through, and goes 93 yards down the sideline.  Wow!  Even though La Vega played great defense in this game, Chapel Hill always seemed to pop a big play.  Also, if La Vega had a kicker, they probably would have won. 

Reagan hasn't seen any competition like Dawson.  They will probably lose by 50 

I'll let you know after Friday night.  I'm going to check them out.

It's a shame that one of these teams has to go out this early.  I'll lean towards Trinity.

This should be a great game.  I am taking Crockett in this one.  I think they are playing good football right now.  They went in to Malakoff 2 weeks ago with the district championship on the line and it was no contest. 

Must be nice there BrenhamFan to be able to go to 3 ball games in two days.  My wife would have a conniption if I tried that.  I'll probably catch some 3A ball with Tyler Chappell Hill in Huntsville on Friday night.  We'll see what the top ranked team in 3A looks like.   

Ok, maybe Ozen can score.  They still won't be able to stop Brenham.  Take the Cubs 36-14

He should kick for the 0-10 Indianapolis Colts.  I mean he's already got the uniform.

Has to be Lufkin.  Just because they are the only State ranked team losing in the 1st round as far as I can tell.  At least in 3A,4A, and 5A.

In 3A, a good matchup of undefeated teams.  Come to Huntsville to see the top ranked team in the State. Tyler Chapel Hill vs. Waco La Vega, 7:30 p.m. Friday, Huntsville's Bowers Stadium

Wow.  What an incredible night for that kicker.  5 FG's from those distances?  You don't see much of that in high school ball.  Nice to know that if you can get to the 25 yd line, you're going to score. 

This should be a great game.  I haven't followed 19-4A too much, so I'm not totally sure about Dayton.  They can definitely put up points.  Both of the teams that beat them in District already lost in the first round.  Mag West has been solid with the exception of their 2 losses in which they were hammered by Brenham and Stratford (teams that did win their 1st round).  West fell way behind in those games and could not recover.  If Mag West plays their game, they can win it.  I'll say Mag West 31-27.       

Wow.  That sounded like a great game between 2 evenly matched teams.  Your point 3) reminded me of the Willis-Mag West game where Willis looked like they were going to win, but it was West that made the plays that counted.  Bring on Round 2.  Love these playoffs.

Nederland should be able to handle Stratford.  I'll say 28-14.

I believe I correctly predicted this 17-4A sweep a few weeks ago.  Congrats to those 4 teams.  It will be much tougher for them to sweep next week.
