Must be nice there BrenhamFan to be able to go to 3 ball games in two days.  My wife would have a conniption if I tried that.  I'll probably catch some 3A ball with Tyler Chappell Hill in Huntsville on Friday night.  We'll see what the top ranked team in 3A looks like.

Has to be Lufkin.  Just because they are the only State ranked team losing in the 1st round as far as I can tell.  At least in 3A,4A, and 5A.

In 3A, a good matchup of undefeated teams.  Come to Huntsville to see the top ranked team in the State. Tyler Chapel Hill vs. Waco La Vega, 7:30 p.m. Friday, Huntsville's Bowers Stadium

Wow.  What an incredible night for that kicker.  5 FG's from those distances?  You don't see much of that in high school ball.  Nice to know that if you can get to the 25 yd line, you're going to score. 

This should be a great game.  I haven't followed 19-4A too much, so I'm not totally sure about Dayton.  They can definitely put up points.  Both of the teams that beat them in District already lost in the first round.  Mag West has been solid with the exception of their 2 losses in which they were hammered by Brenham and Stratford (teams that did win their 1st round).  West fell way behind in those games and could not recover.  If Mag West plays their game, they can win it.  I'll say Mag West 31-27.       

Wow.  That sounded like a great game between 2 evenly matched teams.  Your point 3) reminded me of the Willis-Mag West game where Willis looked like they were going to win, but it was West that made the plays that counted.  Bring on Round 2.  Love these playoffs.

Nederland should be able to handle Stratford.  I'll say 28-14.

I believe I correctly predicted this 17-4A sweep a few weeks ago.  Congrats to those 4 teams.  It will be much tougher for them to sweep next week.

Vidor by 14?  Doubtful.  17 4A has some very good teams as well. 

He's not that much of a beast.  Yes, Willis has some skill players.  But they are your average playoff team and can be beat.  Kingwood Park and Mag West both beat them this year.  In fact, I expect Stratford to take them out tonight in a close game. 

Montgomery held Huntsville to 2 first downs and 66 total yards.  Yes, I realize that Huntsville is offensively challenged.  Montgomery is a very sound and efficient team.  Vidor has the ability to beat them, but I'm taking the Bears 24-17.

Well they did block a punt and recover an onside kick tonight.  So, it wasn't all bad.  But, that team is too way good for 1st round exits.

You must mean the over the shoulder fair catch at the 3 yd line in crunch time.  Yea, that's coaching. 

Just got home from that game.  It was a good one.

Montgomery went 4 rounds last year, defeating Huntsville, Crosby, and Dawson before losing to Friendswood.  They should defeat Vidor next week.  Angleton and Dawson await after that.  One of those 3 teams will win the Region and I would say they are all pretty even. 

I know everybody wants to know about Crosby-Vidor, but I hope we can get regular updates on both the Lamarque and Pearland Dawson games tonight.

I agree with BrenhamFan.  Montgomery already beat Crosby by 3 TD's this year.  I would expect them to do the same to Vidor.  Montgomery has a legitimate shot to win the Region.

So Burkeville only played 7 games?  Whats up with that?

ARE YOU KIDDING!  A 3-7 team playing a 2-8 team in the playoffs?  Has that ever happened?  I'll take Rusk since they were only blown out twice vs Kirbyville who has been blown out 5 times.

Well, that's true.  Brenham probably has the tougher Region.  If they get through it, it's hard to see anyone else taking them out.  I think the State Champ comes out of Region 3.  Montgomery, meanwhile, could win the Region, but that's it for them.

I do not think that Montgomery has an easier path than Brenham.  Brenham may have to deal with Lamarque and Manvel to win the Region, but Montgomery has to deal with Angleton and Dawson.  Then, if they do win the Region, Lake Travis and Denton Ryan are also in the D1 brackett.  Advantage Brenham.
