High School Football during Thanksgiving Break
PlayActionPass replied to LTFALCON's topic in High School Football
Hargrave plays football in their spare time. That "community" could care less about football. -
As it does EVERYWHERE, if you don't have support from the top then you are just spinning your wheels.

This has been a GREAT coaching job by Coach T and the entire staff. As constituted right now, and with some breaks (injuries to key players on other teams) the Mustangs have a great chance to end up back in Jerry World. -
Didn't get to see a United game this year, what are they running on Offense?

Actually, I think the law also states that if more than one press box is present, the total square footage can not exceed 500 square feet. -

Built before the law was put into place. I think it was a 2010 law, that went into effect in 2012, any press box over 500 square feet has to have an elevator, if I'm not mistaken. -

Smash mouth double wing rushing attack, mix in a little play action pass for good measure.
-
Contrast in styles, that is for sure. Liberty going to punch you in the mouth. Center going to rope a dope. Should be interesting and entertaining.
-
WOS home or visitors? How many fans will travel for this one?
-
What would the a Center vs. WOS score look like?

Will 4A-1A Host home 1st Round Next Season

You are spot on, the reason the 4th place team was added was to eliminate the bye week. It really works out perfectly. District winners get to continue to stay sharp by playing a game, usually against a sup par opponent. However, when there is a 4th place team that is really talented they have a shot to make a run. -
Thank you sir. That is were I was going. If BH plays to their capabilities on both sides of the ball, this should be a competitive game.

Basically, in Football only, the UIL has created a 12 Classification system. If you look at the Alignment that way, then it makes a lot more sense. Would you feel more comfortable with Allen being the 12A State Champion, rather than the 6A-Div1 Champion? Or would you rather Carthage be the 8A Champion and Pleasant Grove be the 7A Champion? This is really what we have in Texas in Football. In all the other sports there are only 6 classifications. -
I was kinda curious how yall scored 49 points on Manvel.
-
You can have all the opinions you want, I was just trying to figure out the logic?
-
Not a hater, I actually like Crosby. But, didn't BH beat Crosby? Didn't Crosby beat Manvel? That is not a high level deduction, as far as I am concerned. OBTW, and isn't Crosby in Off-Season now?

Didn't call anyone an idiot. I said, "IF you think this way then....." The UIL is not in the money making business. They use revenue generated by certain SPORTS to run all the other events that they host on a yearly basis. I just can't stand when people get on a message board and call out the UIL. They do more for ALL extracurricular activities in Texas than any organization of their kind. -

Yep, and it actually produces a legitimate Champion. Sunnyvale won their District Championship, they play Gilmer (4th place) in the first round. We will see, but may the best TEAM win. -

You are DEAD wrong. UIL is the best governing body in any State for athletics. The UIL does more for high school athletics in the state of Texas than any group in any other state. It is the best run organization of its kind. Yes, they generate money, but that money goes to pay the salaries of the GREAT people they have running that organization and to support all of the other (non-revenue generating) Extracurricular Events, like Band Competitions, One-Act-Play and many, many other Academic Competitions. If you think the UIL is in this to make money you are an idiot. They use football and basketball to fund the organization so they can put on Top Notch Events for all High School kids, -
Choices
-
I'm definitely not saying one way is better, or right. To each his own. I'm just tired of listening to the griping and complaining about Allen and their "ONE BIG SCHOOL." I'm basically saying get over it, because other places could have the same scenario, with a one school district, but choose not too. It is really all about choices. It's kinda like people who complain about Alabama dominating College Football. If you don't like it, then get better and beat them.
