I hate that this whole thing has happened at BISD, as I would any District.  That said, IF they do ever want to change the name, I hope Alex Durley is high on the list.  Only met/talked to him a couple of times, but he impressed me as a man of integrity.  He is certainly one of the greatest coaches, ever in this area.  He had The X Factor - commanding presence and no nonsense leadership.  And what an offensive mind.  Jmo

As great as Durley was the name of that stadium needs to be Jerry Levias Stadium. Levias was the first scholarship athlete in the Southwest Conference. That is something people need to remember for a long time.

I'm ready to see all applicants resumes like most, even the fresh idea out side guys to find out who all stacks up well against the resumes i do know  might be applying. Anything else on Coach Beasley's resume to go along with freshman O-LINE,zone blocking & bull rush expertise? I'm sure Coach Bass is a good coach also but need more then the infamous "home cooking" card & 1 win over Neumann the last 7 years.

So where did you get this info? Because it definitely was not some place or someone who knew what they were talking about. This is the problem with people putting out there that a coach is a frontrunner or interested in another job. These coaches have a job they are at right now and to have their name attached to another place can cause friction in that coaches job place.

With that said, I know for 100%, put my career on the line and this site will never see me again if I am wrong that Coach Bass is not even going to apply for the Nederland job. So before you throw someone's name out there like that please know what you are talking about.

I agreed with your previous statement because with the negative light that's been on BISD in the past, could you have imagined the domino effect it would have caused around the area?  Talking about the BISD detractors and BISD employees that are secret detractors that are held over from the previous administration...

Best thing that could be done was reinstate him to prevent the backlash...

Robert still to me the only part of this that looks bad is there was a student stealing from the varsity players. Now that it's proven he didn't tape nude boys, the stolen property is the issue.

(And I'll get off BISD back when it's named Jerry Levias Stadium lol)

  4. Keynel McZeal almost lost ball out of bounds, gets ball back right at the line, moves under basket and puts it in.

Then Vidor half court inbounds hits glass, clock starts before touching any player, ball travels to almost half court where PNG gets ball. After long discussion, refs put time back on clock and give PNG the ball since they did recover it.

Vidor fans wanted a jump ball but I can't see how that would be possible. PNG did clearly get possession of the ball even though clock started early.

  5. Lumberton 4, Bob Hope 1

    PNG 8, HF 0

    Liberty 8, Bridge City 1

    Vidor 2, LCM 1

East Chambers (first ever regular season soccer match) 2, Ozen 1

    PNG 3, Barbers Hill 0

    Friday games

(Games on grass fields at PNG High School) Liberty at LCM, 9 a.m., Nederland vs. Lufkin Hudson, 10:45 a.m., Drippings Springs at Vidor, 12:25 p.m., Hudson vs. Bob Hope, 2:05 p.m., Barbers Hill vs. Hamshire-Fannett, 3:45 p.m.

  6. it is too hard to say "best."

Different eras and different classifications really make saying "best" impossible to pick just one. The 2016 Mustangs are way up the list if you were able to find criteria to rank all area teams.

Now, I can say this year's WOS can easily be labeled our area's most dominant team. No team has imposed its will against opponents like this year's Mustangs, even all the way through the playoffs.

I just don't like the term "best." Was Joe Montana the best? Is Brady the best? Jordan or LBJ? There is just too many intangibles to consider.
