Head basketball coach has been reassigned due to this incident. Like I said, witch hunt.

I have received word that both Jasper and West Orange-Stark head basketball coach positions are now or will be open. Aaron Wueller and Chris Castille have each been reassigned. Wueller has been head coach at Jasper for 10 years. Castille has been WO-S head coach for 4 seasons. I will be curious if either school goes outside or just promotes within for these positions. EDIT: WO-S has hired Buna head coach DJ Wilson as it's boys basketball head coach.

Going to keep the pickems open until 6pm Friday. Yates/Wheatley game is the only Thursday game so I'll make it a freebie. Anyone who wants to change their picks before 6pm tomorrow, let me know.

Over the last 10 seasons, Silsbee was 15-2 vs. Houston ISD schools in the playoffs. Silsbee has basically been running 4A Region III for the last 20 years. You had to beat them to win the region or Silsbee won the region. Only three seasons in the last 20 where a team won the region without beating Silsbee or Silsbee won the region. If Wheatley beats Yates tomorrow night, then that will make 18 out of last 21 seasons that the 4A Region III champ was either Silsbee or a team that eliminated Silsbee from the playoffs. This 2nd round exit breaks a streak of 4 straight regional final appearances (9 of last 10 years Silsbee made regional finals). Over the last 20 years, Silsbee played for the regional championship 14 times, winning it 7 times. I agree, some rarified air.
