Saw on Smoaky there are claims of substance abuse. Doubt that's accurate.

Through the grapevine (not too credible of a source) I heard WB got the better of Dayton. Saw a couple of WB highlight videos of two TD's but that was it. Don't know if it was JV or varsity.

I guess I don't follow the right folks for that talk. I did see where a father is upset with Sark over his son that's a freshman corner. Was claiming he was about to blow the top off of the political mess. For whatever that's worth. Most likely nothing.

I'll be in my usual spot in the press box for this one. Looking forward to kicking off the season.

From the Head Coach: Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian said LB Ty'Anthony Smith was dismissed for conduct detrimental to the team. Said, "I didn't like it. It's an unfortunate situation." Very curious as to what happened.

Said he missed their scrimmage due to illness and now off the team for personal reasons.

I see where Jasper's Ty Anthony Smith has left Texas for personal reasons. Anyone know anything here? Pretty late so must be a pretty big issue. Or not.

After giving up 18 runs on 18 hits last night, Astro pitching gets a 3 hit shutout and win 4-0.

I really thought UIL would have sent Cview to the Clear Lake/Deer Park/Dickinson district and Barbers Hill to our 6A district. To me that would have made more sense.

Saw where PA Memorial/Aldine Nimitz had a 3 quarter live scrimmage. PAM had 3 TD's. Nimitz did not score. Memorial defense was dominant.

Other than the Rays, Yankees and Red Sox (all in the AL East) the AL is depressing. NL has so many more better teams this year. NL has 9 teams over .500 AL has 4.

I was told a little of both. I saw Lumberton last week against Woodville. They struggled a bit but was first scrimmage so I didn't make much of it.

I agree. This game will not be treated like a scrimmage. No way.

Still have a dozen or more scrimmages to be played tonight. Some for the first time this season. Hold your horses.

This is what I was told by a reporter at Lumberton/Silsbee scrimmage: Had a short controlled session. Lumberton did not score. Silsbee scored 3 TD's Live 2 quarters: Lumberton did not score. Missed a 64 yard FG attempt. Silsbee scored 4 TD's. 6 of the 7 Silsbee's TD's were via the pass. Had 1 rushing TD (McKinney 60 yarder) Was told Breeden looked very good. He had 4 passing TD's. Mathews had 2 passing TD's. Wide receiver Williams was the main target and had 4 TD's.
