Nothing against Johnson, I think he is a great player, but there's no way this guy should be defensive player of the year. There are too many players out there who had better years. Johnson didn't even make 1st team all district. It's not a knock on Dravantti's abilty, I believe he'll go on to be a good college player, but you just can't deny others with tremendous year's those kind of accolades. I have lost all respect for the AP voters, they are clueless.

You make those comments like HJ is the only school that goes through this. I imagine WOS and other schools are going through the same things, illness, homework, ect. It's the same for everybody.

A 51 point win without 2 of the Tiger's starters, one of them being the Tiger's leading scorer. Pretty impressive.

Look, I'll give credit where credit is due. Coach Thompson is a fantastic coach, he did bring back the defense to what it once was. But to say he was the difference over the last 4 years is inaccurate. Don't kid yourself, the biggest difference in the success over the last 4 years for WOS was them dropping down to 3A. Yes, I know, the Mustangs were successful in 4A, but not of late. Them dropping to 3A, along with my Silsbee Tigers, was very beneficial to both of them. That's just the cold hard facts.

Regarding Marsh's and Nolan's stats, the AP only uses regular season stats, not playoffs. That way, all stats would be on an equal amount of games. Also, the AP all-state teams were voted on right after the regular season, so no playoff influences were involved.

I find it very odd that Garrett Riley of Muleshoe was named class 2A player of the year but yet was listed as a 2nd team all-state quarterback. That doesn't seem right.

If you notice, the poll is still with the Dec. 10 issue. I believe the tabc poll goes on hiatus through the holidays and then picks back up in January.

I find it real funny MWhizzie how you want some simpathy from Silsbee fans after you continously berate the Tigers every chance you get. You say how you would have pulled for Silsbee if it were them playing LH but the funny thing is, you have never pulled for them against anyone before. You have done nothing but bad mouth the Tigers since you have been on this board. As for what happened up in Lufkin, I was told by a friend who saw the game and he is not from either school, that there was a little home cooking going on. Hey, it happens sometimes and from what I hear, it happens kind of regularly up there. But the fact remains, LH won, and HJ had their chances to get back in the game but made a few mistakes down the stretch. Tough loss but I'm quite sure the Hawks will bounce back. I guess my question is, you HJ fans really weren't thinking the Hawks were going to go undefeated, did you?

This is a little premature because of the fact that districts could increase or decrease in the amount of schools. A school could be looking at having to schedule less non district games or even more non district games. I imagine most if not all coaches will just wait till realignment to figure out their non district schedules.

I agree BMTSoulja, this is stupid. But, I have seen dumber things on here before. I'll give it the rest of the day to see where this goes but like you said, this will probably be gone soon.

That might be true but, it's quite evident that the players got out played too. You don't get beat 49-13 and give up over 600 yards of offense without the other teams players making plays and executing. LT was just the better team.

I have a friend of mine who saw this game. He said that Brown definetly deserved the tech and that Henderson should kick him off the team. This has gone on long enough, his attitude is just terrible.

Obviously, the difference of the game was the 3rd quarter. Ozen outscoring LCM by 11, 13-2. The rest of the game was played pretty evenly.

Only thing that can be said about this game, it's quite obvious the better team won. Great season Dayton, you just ran into a much better team. Congrats on your playoff run.

Like Coop said, we will start broadcasting Hardin-Jeff games Dec.18 and also a game of the week starting Dec.18. I will be doing the game of the week broadcasts, which I'll try and cover as much of Southeast Texas as possible. There will always be 2 games to choose from, HJ and game of the week, so guys listen in. Like I said, I am going to try and cover as much as I can but the game of the week will be a determined by what would be considered the best matchup for that week. Some weeks we will do 2 games of the week, Tues. and Friday. Rankings and district standings will help determine some of these games, but not entirely. Starting with Tues. Dec. 18, I have narrowed it down to three games, but definetly leaning towards 1. No problem coach. I know who you are talking about, mcgee. He kind of gives us Aggies a bad name. Yes, abtr is right, I am an Aggie but my better half is a Lamar alum, she was the head twirler her senior year back when they had football. I am not the only one in my household that wants football back. If it was up to my wife, she would sell our house to donate to Lamar getting football back. Back to Lamar basketball, the good thing( if there is such thing) is that it's still early enough for these guys to improve. I'm anxious to see how they do in conference.

It's my understanding that only 2 football players are on the team with Dennis being the only starter. Dennis is probably their best player but I have seen them play with him this year and they are really not that good. WOS misses the playoffs this year.
