1.
Hey AAW what year did Holden and Arline graduate?
Their senior year was '98.
2. Would this be worse by leaving before you have ever coached a game compared to what Lane did by leaving after only one year? ;D
3. That's right, I stand corrected. BH did win it last year. I have no angle. I cover lot's of tourneys, even ones that Silsbee does not play in. I call them like I see them. Take the YMBL for instance, it's a BISD tourney but you don't see them put Ozen, Central and West Brook in any easy brackets.
4.
Aggies.....I know you.... Your from Silsbee!  Your just mad cause Silsbee lost.  Wow...talk about the kettle calling the pot black!
How can you say that? Where has Silsbee set up their tourney that way? The answer is nowhere because they do not host a tourney. Silsbee losing in that tourney does not deny the fact of how the tourney is setup. Cleveland won it last year and you don't see them back in that tourney. Their coach also said they wouldn't be back because how it is setup. Coach Broussard told me that himself.
5. As for Silsbee players this decade, Desmond Doss was better than Sticks and Lockett. Doss was a 2 time district MVP and was on the Super Gold team twice. Doss also was the only Silsbee player to be named district MVP in both football and basketball. He also made the Super Gold team in football.
6. I agree that host teams give them self a slight advantage in tourney brackets, that has always been that way. But there is a difference in getting a slight advantage over an obvious one. ;)
7. Franks has only played in the Ned game. He hasn't played since. Anyone have any info?
8.
I assume both of you are adults.  And you listen and base your opinions on the biased views of someone else???  That makes no sense.  ESPECIALLY if you are "covering" a tourney.... :-\
I covered last year's tourney for the first time, from start to finish. The info I recieved from others was on the years prior. But, I only needed what I witnessed myself last year. Last year's tourney was definetly one-sided. 13 total teams, 5 in the upper bracket, 8 in the lower. Six of the top seven teams in that tourney were in the lower bracket. Barbers Hill was in the upper bracket and they got the only bye in the tourney. Upper bracket teams: BH LCM Spring Dekaney Goose Creek Memorial Coldspring Lower Bracket Cleveland Silsbee Baytown Sterling Dayton Nederland Clear Creek Montgomery CE King Cleveland had to play Sterling, Silsbee and Nederland to get to the finals where as Barbers Hill had to play LCM and GC Memorial. BH beat LCM at the buzzer and then defeated GC Memorial by 17, a team that lost to Nederland later in the tourney by 32!! Baytown Sterling lost in overtime to Cleveland in the first round and went on to win the consolation. Nederland won 3rd place. It was so obviously tilted to favor that it's a wonder you guys get any teams to participate. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that. All it took was the first day of me looking at that bracket last year to come to this conclusion. Then folks started telling me while I was there that this is how it is all the time and it's why the tourney is a shell of itself now compared to what it used to be years ago.
9. Soulja, if I didn't know any better, I would think you were a Ozen Panther homer with all those Ozen players on your team. Over half of them are from Pear Orchard. ;) ;D It also shows how much 20-4A bias you have. ;) ;D
10. All it took for me was to cover this tourney once to figure it out. ;) Then the masses spoke to me afterwards on how it's always been.

19. Everyone, let's stop with calling out a player or coach. Techs happen and coaching staffs handle them differently. Let's move on.
20. I know this is short notice, but now that all the teams will be into district play starting Friday, we will start our pick'em contest which will last through district play and continue through the first couple of rounds of the playoffs. I will list a schedule of games that HoopInsider Cooper has up with the point spreads. Yes, the point spreads will be used in this pick'em. You pick the team based on the point spread. Example: Buna @ Anahuac (-33) Anahuac is favored by 33 points. You can choose Anahuac to win but in order for it to be a correct pick, they must win by 33 points or more. If Anahuac were to win by less than 33, then the pick would be incorrect. Understand? I will list the games with the point spreads listed beside the team that is favored. If anyone has any questions, please pm me and I'll try to answer them. All picks have to be in by 6pm on game day, The thread will be locked then. Here are the games to select: Channelview @ West Brook (-7) North Shore @ PAM  (-5) Ozen @ Central  (-2) (-6) LCM @ Vidor (-3) Nederland @ Livingston (-6) PNG @ Lumberton (-9) Barbers Hill @ Dayton Pollack Central @ Jasper (-16) Bridge City @ Hardin-Jeff (-30) (-29) Orangefield @ Hamshire-Fann (-10) Silsbee @ WOS (-11) Woodville @ Kirbyville Hemphill @ Newton (-10) Buna @ Anahuac (-33) Deweyville @ Hardin (-2) Warren @ East Chambers (-29) (-18) Evadale @ West Hardin High Island @ Hull-Daisetta (-1) Sabine Pass @ Spurger (-4) St. Pius @ Kelly  pick'em Good luck!!!
