Since I am not an HJ guy, I can look ahead to what potential matchups the Hawks may endeavor in the playoffs. (I know that the Hawk team is focused on the game at hand) If HJ wins against Tarkington, they will face Navasota for the 4th year in a row. (HJ has knocked Navasota out of the playoffs three straight years now). If HJ manages to defeat Navasota, their most likely next round opponent will be Cleveland. Cleveland will face Madisonville in the Area round. HJ knocked Cleveland out of the playoffs last year as well. With those victories, that would put HJ in the regional tourney for the 4th straight year. Their three most likely opponents for the semis would be either Bullard (a team that HJ beat at the HJ tourney this year) or Mexia (ranked in the top 20) or Center (18-3A undefeated district champ and #25 in the polls). All this could lead to a regional final matchup with Silsbee (of course the Tigers would have to take care of their business too). I post this because I am of the opinion that the #2 seed out of 21-3A has to run a gauntlet these last two years. HJ definitely earned there way to Austin last year, can they do it two years in a row? It will be a very daunting task to say the least.

Things seemed to have been cleared up and it looks like the Nederland/Ozen broadcast is on. Broadcast time will be at 6:50pm

Another interesting point, I see no reason for Lufkin Hudson to not be playing football. Their enrollment is 705, which makes them the second largest school in the 18-3A district. What's up with that?

District 22-4A is interesting. Five of the seven schools in that district have 3A numbers but elected to stay 4A. Doesn't surprise me as 4 of these schools have had 3A numbers for the last 3 realignments.

I will say this, Hardin winning wasn't a fluke, but Woodville shooting 15% from the field was a fluke. Hardin did a great job defensively, but Woodville missed several shots that they should have made. I still say it would not have made a difference, just would have been a closer game.

ATTENTION!!!! Due to the fact that I am getting conflicting reports about doing the broadcast down at PAM, this broadcast may not happen. If not, I will try to make it out to HJ and do the LCM/Livingston game. Just check back to this thread for updates.

Hardin will beat New Waverly.

I give it a B-. A bit robotic, just seemed a little fake to me.

WOS and Coldspring will play their 1st round game Tuesday, Feb.23 at Dayton High School @ 7pm.

[/quote] Silsbee and WOS could meet in the quarterfinal round (3rd round). Since Silsbee gets a bye in the 1st round, they play Bryan Rudder in the 2nd round (Rudder got a 1st round bye also). WOS plays Coldspring in the 1st round. If WOS beats Coldspring they will advance all the way to the quarterfinals because they will recieve a bye in the 2nd round. They will then face the winner of Silsbee/Rudder in the quarterfinals. All Silsbee and WOS has to do is to win their first games and they will face each other. Hardin-Jefferson would only face Silsbee or WOS in the regional finals due to them being in the opposite bracket.

Silsbee goes 8-9 deep. ;)

The Nederland Bulldogs wiil take on the Beaumont Ozen Panthers at Port Arthur Memorial @ 7pm in a tiebreaker game to determine the #1 seed of district 20-4A. He is taking a football recruiting trip to LSU.

Also I was told tonight that the game will most likely be played at North Shore on Thursday night, week from tonight. Still not official, but most likely the place. The date is a definite, they both want to play on Thursday.

I talked to Travis and Ira tonight. They heard that Rudder figures that Silsbee is slow because of how big the Tigers are. Rudder thinks they can run Silsbee out of the gym. Rudder lives and dies by the three. I think they will die. ;)
