Humble had just come off of beating a very good 5A North Shore team in the championship game of the Kingwood tourney.

Came away impressed with Newton. Very athletic!!! Eagles play very good defense and attack the basket very well. Very strong. I look for Newton to make the playoffs out of 22-2A. Coach Gulley has them playing to their strengths, which is athleticism!!! Buna also will be in the mix for a playoff spot out 24-2A. Very sound team with a very good freshman post player in Tyler Edwards. I believe Coach Whitmire will have the Cougars poised for a playoff spot.
