  1. Listen in every Monday night as Gabe Pruett and Mike Sanchez break down the weeks area games and discuss the area district standings. Also the SETXsports.com Weekly Rankings will be announced on the show every Monday night. We are doing the show LIVE from Hamburger Depot in Beaumont, so you can come down and join in the fun and also get some great food. We will have guests on each week and if time is available, we can let you get some air time as well. If you cannot make it down to Hamburger Depot, you can post your questions and comments on the broadcast thread and we will do our best to answer and discuss it on the show. Broadcast time is at 6:30pm, every Monday night, with the show lasting approximately 1 1/2 hour. That's the SETXsports.com Weekly High School Preview Show, LIVE, from Hamburger Depot!!! Every Monday night at 6:30!!!
  2. I actually was 19-3 (H.I. game), but whose counting. ;D It's a marathon, not a sprint. I will be in the top 5% at season's end. ;D
  3. My personal observation is that Silsbee was not tested by Davis. Davis had a once in 10 year run of talent the last couple of years and will not be very good for a while. That said, you can only play the people on your schedule, so that is not a knock toward Silsbee. They did what they were supposed to do to a subpar team and beat them badly. I also agree with the above post. In recent years, the Silsbee/WOS game really doesn't matter who you played or how you looked. It's become a rivalry and you can throw out the records. I saw Silsbee play Kelly last year. I would have sworn we would beat them by 50. You just never know with rivalry games and teenagers. I agree with you Gas on all points. Silsbee wasn't tested by evidence of a 43-0 lead at halftime. I am not so sure that the Tigers will be tested this week either. But, like you said, it does not matter, both teams will bring their A games come Oct. 9.
  4. I wear hats all the time, feel naked without one on. I would take the $200,000, since I am going to wear a hat anyways. I did get paid once to wear a hat, but it was far short of 200 grand.
  5. I broadcasted several of the YMBL games last year. I may be doing them again, have not decided yet. The HJ tourney is the same weekend and I may do some games over there particularly since HJ has a new gym, better setup for broadcasting now. Still, the Montagne is the best place to broadcast from but I heard that the YMBL may be moving to the Ford Arena. That was the talk at last years YMBL. Too much conflict with Lamar and it's baskeball teams. If the move to Ford Park happens, I would have to see what the setup is there for courtside broadcasting.
  6. A reminder for those who may have missed the Port Arthur News Friday Night Experience telecast of PN-G’s 21-20 victory over Barbers Hill. You can still see it by clicking on www.panews.com, www.kuiltv.com or www.setxsports.com. Same goes for the Nederland-West Orange-Stark game. The rest of the article: [Hidden Content]
  7. Calvin told me that you were playing in his tourney. I assume the other is the Fred Williams Classic. What's the other game in Beaumont?
  8. Saying you got banned for NOTHING, isn't the best way of remaining unbanned. Glad to see you back, DV. Just be careful. ;D
  9. Offense- It has to be Ploch of Dayton. 396 total yards, pretty impressive Defense- Dunbar of PNG, 3 int's and a fumble recovery returned for a TD
  10. Uh, ryker, first of all, this is just the second year for Livingston to be in 20-4A. Last year, their first year in 20-4A, they were district co-champs with Lumberton. I suggest you do a little more research next time.
  11. Silsbee's first team defense only allowed 37 total yards of offense in the first half. Of the 200 total yards for Davis, 90 of it came on that one play in the second half. There were about 5 missed tackles on that 90 yard TD run, btw. Great night for the Tiger special teams. Two block punts, one returned for a TD and then a 67 yard punt return for TD. Big night for Chris Barnes and Rahkeem Bolton. Barnes had over 130 yards all purpose yardage with 3 TD's, while Bolton also had 3 TD's to go with his 110 all purpose yardage. It was good that the Tiger reserves got to play as much as they did, basically played the entire second half. This will help down the road.
  12. Only when they play PNG and Nederland. All of Vidor's games are broadcasted here on this site.
  13. That's the point. Bobby McGallion NEVER runs the score up on anyone. Tonight, Silsbee led 43-0 at half. 90% of the first teamers never saw the field in the second half. That will be the case next week if the score is simular at half.
  14. It doesn't look to be any easier next week for Diboll. Early prediction: Silsbee 49 Diboll 7
  15. It's not that they are bad, they just don't have the numbers that you would think a 1,600 enrollment 4A would have. They only suited out 20 players while Silsbee has 36 on varsity. Davis was pretty good last year, going 9-2 and advancing to the 3rd round. They defeated Yates last year for the first time in 30 years. They had some pretty good players last year. That is not the case this year though. They still had a few pretty good ones, just not enough. Houston Chronicle does have them making the playoffs this year.
