It is great that these guys give their time to charity. One thing does shock me about all this. Why hasn't DV been on here bragging about knowing about this and talking about how he was down there rubbing elbows with Shaq and the gang? ;D

This is crazy. Obviously know one knows for sure what the outcome would have been if Bradford had not gotten hurt. But to just totally discard the fact that a team lost it's Heisman trophy winning QB, one that will go higher in the draft than both Teebow and McCoy, and replace him with a redshirt freshman, is just plain ridiculous. That there my friends is not showing good football sense. OU does have some line problems, but losing Bradford was a terrible blow to them in that game. Even the BYU coaches and players acknowledged that fact. I believe that BYU will show that they are a legit team over the course of the rest of the season and this loss will not be as devasting to OU as it looks now.

Silsbee may take some lumps in the YMBL, but they will be better for it. Then again, they may do quite well, anxious to see. I will be there broadcasting, that's for sure. Maybe LN will face my Tigers and I can comment on the coaching abilities of a certain team. ;D

Not likely....Good try, though, but not likely...Silsbee is in the YMBL, so maybe we can face them. It would be fun. ....HJ USED to participate, but.....why not this year? (thats a serious question, by the way for anyone who knows) Simply because HJ's tourney is the same weekend as the YMBL.

Absolutely! Whose stats would be better... Texas vs. Lousiana-Monroe or Alabama vs. VA Tech? Although some people contend "there are still 11 guys out there" : I think the stats will be skewed until district. It's not an apples to apples comparison. Once the district SEASON is in the books, it will then be an accurate portrayal. Accurate portrayal of what? Stats are just stats, no matter who you are playing. I have seen many a team get blown away in the stat department but still win the game.

It will only be for Silsbee and it's opponents. But you can count on them being accurate, that's for sure.

But Soulja, I believe that is where smitty is getting his numbers.

JJ is out for the second day sick. Yes, I heard that. I hope he rests well and is ready for tomorrow night. But if not, I would rather him sit out a non district game, even if it is Lumberton.

Ahhh, that is where you are wrong. Both Thomas and Jones were measured by the coaching staff this summer and that is their correct height. Got them from Ira at the summer tourney. Also D.C. has grown an inch and Lane has always been '6"3. I saw these kids almost daily over the summer, they have grown. I know that in the summer tourney, the Cleveland post Reed who is '6"6 according to his coach, was 1 to 2 inches shorter than Thomas and Jones. That was very clear. These guys have the hieght, but need more meat on their bones.

The thing about getting stats off of the newspaper websites is that they will always be different. I have found that I cannot trust those numbers. I have kept stats for both Silsbee games this year and have matched them with the coaching staffs and our numbers for the Tigers have not been the same as the ones you will find in the Enterprise or Chronicle.

I agree Boram, it's all over. My wife teaches at Lumberton Middle school and she has said that several students have been out sick this week at her school.

This actually started last Friday night with a coach. Now it has spread over the team as well. Most of the players were sent home Monday with the symptoms to keep from spreading it to other players. A few have missed later in the week but most of the missed practices were Monday and Tuesday.

Many students have been out ill this week. The football team has had several players miss a day or two of practice this week. Hopefully everyone will be up to speed by Friday night.

I sense a lot of jealousy in this post. Now you're questioning his skills. then you brought up College play on another level. We said nothing about this. We're talking about now. I'm sure if the L-train had a blue chipper QB, you would let us know about him. You have Beard and you talk about him. Heck, you don't need to do that because I seen first hand what he could do. He's a beast. Then you are making excuses to why you will lose the game. Because players will not play... this game don't mean as much to Lumberton... rest starters... Blah blah. I'm sure this guy does not represent thr 'real' Raider Nation... : Good post Soulja. My sentiments exactly. Lumberton wants to win this game just as badly as Silsbee does, trust me.

Silsbee returns 3 starters in Hill, Stallworth and Jones. They also return two players that started several games in Thomas and Lane. Lane was a starter before he went down with a knee injury halfway through district. He was badly missed in the playoffs. Also Bolton returns who saw lots of time off the bench. Silsbee will start Sr. '5"9 Hill, Jr. '6"3 Lane, Jr. '6"4 Stallworth, Sr. '6"7 Thomas, and Sr. '6"8 Jones. They will be much bigger in the starting lineup but will lack the outside shooting that Robinson, Walters and Byars provided. They will only be about 7-8 deep, not the 10 deep that they have been in recent years. Look for Silsbee to score more in the 50's and 60's than the 70's and 80's that they have done the last couple of years. Their defense will be much better in the half court. Will they be as strong as last year? I think they can but this will be a very different type Silsbee team than what has been the last few years.
