Poppa, I knew about the sitiuation last year with HJ/Silsbee and the chapter, but I did not know that it had such a ripple effect. I heard some talk at Silsbee's summer tourney but didn't think much of it. I know that there were several officials from the local chapter with their leaders there at the tourney doing some evaluations.

The Newton @ Silsbee game will air on Fox 4 Friday night at 10:30 and then will re-air on Tuesday night at 7pm on Time Warner channel 18.

I haven't seen anyone bashing coaches. I have read SHSTIGER'S posts and I think he is given an opinion that a lot of folks have. We have won only 47% of our games since 1998. We are the biggest school in the district and some think we should compete better with the talent that we have and have had. That is not bashing. That is just an opinion. Some on here are hypertsensitive to these type of comments and that is why without cause they are deleted. If you look you will find the same topic being discussed about the Barber's Hill program. The difference is that coach's names are being thrown around in that one. Since no moderators have allegiance to that program, the thread remains untouched. Sorry you feel this way about it, old friend. I know that you have had some personal issues with the current head coach and staff, I understand. I have no problem with the posts that you and a couple of others have made in general of the coaching staff. That's your opinion and I think you have kept it within the guidelines. With that said, just be careful with your posts. If it becomes a constant, like what SHSTiger is doing, the posts will be removed.

This will be Silsbee's toughest game to date. I am glad it is at home. I was encouraged with the improved defensive play from last Friday night. I though our defense played well enough against Lumberton to win that game. Still gave up a couple of big plays, but all in all, played very well. They will need that kind of effort and execusion to slow down Newton. Newton will score, but we can't let them score at will. I think the Tiger defense is ready to make a statement. The offense has to be able to run the ball against Newton. If they can do that, it will open up the pass game even more. Not too many teams, including Newton, will see pass attack like what Silsbee brings to the table. If Silsbee can protect JJ, with the stable of recievers we have, he will connect on some big plays. I stress, we have to establish a run game, first and foremost. Otherwise, Newton will pin their ears back and blitz just about every play. We may be able to win some of those battles, but will for sure lose some. We cannot afford to have single digit rushing yards against the Eagles. I say Silsbee gets it together this week and gets the win, late. Final Silsbee 35 Newton 31

You are missing the point big time. I do not hate the Mustangs. I just call out any homerism. A certain person knows where I am coming from. I'm sure you are just messing around with COOP. And I'm sure you think you are hilarious. But for the past 2+ years its always something with you about WOS. I know we are some "different" fans. Other Mustang fans do are good job of policing the irrational fans. You just seem have it in for us. If its not about football, its about not being fans of other sports and so on. It is just very redundant and you seem very envious of us. I'll pray for you. Trust me, I do not lump all Mustang fans together. I know who are the "homers". I enjoy calling them(really him) out. Kerry knows that I am just giving him a hard time and he knows that I will continue to do so as long as he keeps up with his antics. I just call it like I see it, get used to it. Just for informational purposes, here's the makeup of Silsbee's varsity: 17 seniors 14 juniors 7 soph. 3 of the starting 5 offensive lineman are soph., the entire secondary are juniors, 2 of the 4 LB's. are soph. But I am not making excuses. :

According to Gasilla ( a very realistic and astute fan of the Stangs), he posted this in this thread regardingsenior starters for WOS: Defense Seniors- Haynes, Franks, Nelson, Rubin, Cook, Arnold (Rubin has been hurt all but 1 game and his replacements are Sophomores) Offense Seniors- Franks, Francis, Jordan (Haynes plays quite a bit, but does not start) Anyway, this year is the year... the time is now. Those defensive seniors will hurt when they are gone. That's 9 senior starters out of the 22. That leaves 13 underclassmen starting.

5 Sophomores, 14 JR's. That's how many start for WOS???

So that I hear you correctly, all this talk of penalties and other things that the Mustangs did wrong is just your way of saying that WOS played down to Kirbyville. Is that correct?

So Kerry, are you saying that Kirbyville is no better than a 6 man team since the Mustangs did beat them with all those penalties?
