Just what kind of predictions are you asking for? I predict that each team's 1st and 2nd teams will play. I predict that there will be some running, passing, blocking and tackling. I predict that each team will play hard, each team's coaches will be happy and mad. A team or both will score a TD. I predict there will be fans in the stands. Kids will be playing under the stands. Old men will be reminiscing about their football days. Women will be gossiping. Some fans for both teams will be yelling at the coaches and the officials. I also predict that some fools will predict a win or loss on this thread before the scrimmage will take place Thursday night.

Also, Silsbee was trying out new players in positions as well. So Silsbee wouldn't stand a chance later in the year? That wasn't the case last year. ::) From what I saw in that scrimmage, it wouldn't matter when these two teams actually played a game, Silsbee would most likely win. It was obviously evident in the performance of these two teams in the scrimmage Friday night. Silsbee has the better team and it showed.

From what I saw of Hamshire-Fannett last week against Deweyville and Kirbyville, they won't be bringing much. I look for both Barbers Hill and Central to have their way with the Horns.

False alarm. I was told Edwards was enrolled at Buna and practicing football with the team. Played in the scrimmage Friday night.

I cannot remember any paper doing reports from any scrimmages. I don't see what the big deal is, just scrimmages.

I will say, I was disappointed in what I saw from Newton Friday night. I was expecting a much better performance. But, what I saw from Kirbyville today wasn't any better. Newton obviously scrimmaged a much better team (Silsbee) than what Kirbyville scrimmaged (Deweyville & HF). Like I stated before, maybe Silsbee is just better than I thought they would be and would most likely put the same result had they scrimmaged Kirbyville. I think Kirbyville will be better than last year (pretty bad last year) but that's not saying much and not sure it will be enough improvement to beat Newton and for sure not enough to go undefeated in district. Already counting my $100 I will collect from kvillecats. ;) ;D

They scored on the Wildcats 1st team, in just 5 plays.

[/quote] WRONG!!! I was there. Deweyville 1st team scored against Kirbyville 1st team defense. In fact, it only took Deweyville 5 plays to cover the 65 yards to score. It was the first 5 plays of offense for Deweyville's first team, first 5 plays of defense for Kirbyville's 1st team.
