Heard Yates has decided to appeal to go back to 4A. They did not check the box to opt up by orders of HISD but the powers at be thought their enrollment numbers would still keep them 4A. Now the egos are in play and they want to appeal.

UIL needs to get rid of the Div. I and II in 2A and 1A. Just go back to how it was before which would create districts with much closer proximity schools. I mean explain this: Laneville, a 1A-DII school, is about 35 miles north of Nacadoches. Laneville in this realignment is placed with it's other district opponents in Region IV. REGION IV!!!!!! You know, the region down in the valley, Corpus area, Brownsville. What a joke!!

Personally, I think Silsbee is the only ones who can complain about the other 21-3A gyms.  ;) Everyone in 21-3A needs to get bigger gyms and football stadiums like what Silsbee has to offer. ;D

Bottom number for 3A last realignment was 430. So, it is a difference of 5 less, not 3. ;) ;D

168 1A schools play football 390 1A schools play basketball It's probably fair to assume that those 168 schools that play football is the vast majority of the larger schools in 1A. So by taking 60 of those 168, you leave 108 to play football (give or take a few). I can tell you right now that would be a geographical nightmare and would force many of those schools into dropping football because of the travel expenses.
