At one point in time Lamar University and the local officiating chapter was trying to get a regional tourney here. 5A or 4A was the target classification. Since that time (about 12 years ago), Lamar has shown no interest in being a host site.

Beaumont Ozen has 6 regional tourney appearances in these 15 years, with 3 regional finals, 2 regional championships. Hardin-Jefferson has 6 regional tourney appearances with 4 regional finals, 2 regional championships in these 15 years.
