IMO No way Alto loses to Shelbyville.  WS MUST take care of business this week in Grapeland.  Grapeland will be no slouch and could leave the Tigers playing basketball earlier than expected.  As long as WS plays to thier capabilities then it should be a W by several scores, however I am worried because the team (WS) has looked very flat the past few weeks.  If WS gets fired up again they will win and if they carry that over into the playoffs they could go a long way!
I agree, stinger. We need to come out and ball like I know we can!!!!!!! Should have our RB back this week too(sat out last week was dinged up). If we get on a roll the sky is the limit! The playoffs started for us last week lol!!!!

No excuses here, SA is the better team.  I truly don't believe WS is playing as well now as say when they played Teneha and they may have peaked too early.  I'm not using this as an excuse because I still don't believe they would have beaten SA.  SA exposed a real weakness for WS and that is the offensive line, it was unreal how quick the SA defense shot the gaps and got to Lacey and they absolutely made Nick Williams a non-factor.  WS looked scared from the beginning to end, and I honestly mean SCARED!  If WS does not get things together then they can forget the playoffs and look to an early basketball season!! BTW, since district began I have NOT been impressed much at all out of ANY of the teams in this district, I dont see anyone getting past the third round coming out of our district.  I really hope I'm wrong.
I disagree on some points you make here.  I don't think WS is playing as well now as they were, and it is not competition level related completely.  The line has been very nicked up, and Williams didn't play much of the game after twisting his knee in a non contact situation on the second play.  WS predistrict schedule looked pretty good before the season started.  They played what was a good Kelly team a year ago, Tenaha, need I say more, Hemphill & Burkeville is a tradition that they all but must play.  Hemphill was playing pretty well at that time.  Most people over there will tell you, that losing to WS in many ways, killed there season.  Then with Twine going down, there was nothing left mentally.
I think you misread my post.  I said that "I truly don't believe WS is playing as well now as say when they played Teneha and they may have peaked too early".  Hey, I love WS and I am not knocking them just stating what I believe to be my honest opinion and real.  I agree with you on the predistrict schedule out of 5 games two of those were against state champs from less than a year ago.........  You would think that both of those teams would be tough (Teneha is tough).
We have to step up and play better from here on out and show what we are made of. The playoffs are a different animal entirely, with a completely unpredictable nature. If all three teams are on track, I see deep runs from all of them. If not, early exits are possible. That is the fickle one and done nature of the playoffs............
 5.
Good game Wolves.  Lets get this championship.  Crow Cafe open West Sabine....watch Grapeland take that 3rd playoff spot!
Congrats on the win. Tell me something though: when your DB tackles and holds our WR in front of the back judge, isn't that interference( a three armed, one eyed baboon could've made that call)? And also when you tackle someone by the neck from behind, isn't that a horse collar? And thirdly on the 2 point conversion I saw our player CLEARLY reach the ball over the pylon before going out of bounds. Before ANYONE says this smacks of sour grapes I witnessed this from the SIDELINES, not the bleachers. I know I will catch flak for this, but quite frankly I don't care. Bring on whatever you want to say, and it will be promptly IGNORED in the order it was sent, so you won't get a rise out of me(no matter WHAT you say, but go ahead and say it).The game will go down in the books as a "clean" game with few penalties(I kept the offensive stats for both teams), but I know better. But like I said earlier, congrats on the win.
 6. I seen him play one time, and let me tell you, this kid will be in the majors one day barring injury. Potential 5-tool baseball player and he is lights out on the mound too.Has 18 bombs in 2 varsity seasons. There is no arguement:he is a great football player, but he will make his bones playing baseball so I personally don't blame him one bit for taking things slow and easy from his injury.

HD gave Groveton all they wanted, lost 20-14. Yall may not be the superstars yall claim to be. lol.  :-* ;)
I just love how you base everything off of the Groveton score, shows your football ignorance.  Trinity beat Groveton and we thumped Trinity 44-0 after 3 quarters until 2nd strings went in, compare that in your notes! HD = pretender , Alto = Contender!
Lil buddy, after friday night and West Sabine puts 60 points on yall, you won't even visit this site for a while. LMAO!  ;D Alto will show their cards friday night. lol.  :D
Yeah 55 we showed our cards tonight how ya like them apples??
Congrats on the victory. WS may be over rated. No we arent overrated, was just one bad game. We shot ourselves in the foot with turnovers. Gave Alto way too many short fields to work with, and they did what good teams do:they cashed in. That game was just an aberration. Gotta show up at SA this week though.........
8.
Speaking of hitting hard, how many times did we have to wait for another yellow jacket to get up off the field.  No tiger ever slowed to game down............  Nor have they all year.    Alto won, this is true, but the turnovers were the difference, they could not stop WS offense either.  WS running back had a higher average per carry than Whitaker and probably more yards total.  Whitaker ran approx 36 times for @ 150 yds, Williams for WS ran 12 times for about the same yardage.  And williams out ran all the Alto players more than once.
Williams:12 car. 154 yds 2TD (12.83 yards per carry) Whitaker:36 car. 162yds. 4TD (4.5 yards per carry) You are right there were a bunch of Yellowjackets getting up slowly off the piles as the game wore on.We clean up the turnovers we got a long playoff run in store......
 9.
Been thinking about doing a Playoff Bracket Challenge when the playoffs come around. If I can get enough people interested I'll run it. Here is the format, essentially the same format as the NCAA basketball bracket challenges. Once all the playoff positions are solidified, just pick who you think will win each game all the way to the state champion. All brackets have to be completed and turned in before the playoffs start though, no altering brackets during playoffs. You get 10 points for each team you pick that advances to Area, for each team you correctly pick to advance to Regionals you get 20 points, each team picked correctly to get to Quaterfinals is 40 points a piece, each team picked correctly to get to the Semi-Finals is 80 points a piece, each team picked correctly to get to the State Championship is worth 160 points a piece, and finally correctly picking the State Champion is worth 360 points. This would be the scoring format: Area - ____ out of 320 points Regionals - ____ out of 320 points Quarterfinals - ____ out of 320 points Semi-Finals - ____ out of 320 points Finals - ____ out of 320 points State Champion - ____ out of 320 points Remember, the brackets are completely filled out before the playoffs start. This is not a week by week prediction, you fill your bracket out all the way to picking a State Champion. This makes it challenging, if you pick a team to advance to the Semi-Finals and they lose the first game and don't advance to Area you'll miss out on 10 points from Area, 20 points from Regionals, 40 points from Quarterfinals, and 80 points from Semi-Finals. Get the concept? If I can get enough people interested I'll run it on here.
Count me in too.
 10.

First of all, Altojacket it would do you well if you learned how to read. I never called anyone out, but I did reply to a post. Secondly, in all my post I never said WHO would win. Anyway, WS beat themselves. Lacey made good passes but the receiver #4 stopped running. The balls were absolutely were they needed to be. He made about 2 bad passes. The other balls were catchable and hit the receivers hands, they just didn't catch them. Alto is still not better, WS just shot themselves in the foot. Alto had no class trying to hit Lacey when he was already out of bounds, but he's still standing and ready for the Wolves. Them little hits weren't nothing!! Yea you won, but the game could have went either way. WS had way too many penalities and mistakes and the line wasn't doing their job on defense or offense. If Lacey would have been selfish he could have ran over ya'll, but he stuck to the plays being called, so on that note ya'll lucked up.
WS beat themselves my @$$, the better TEAM won!  Yall finally played someone that hit ya in the mouth and had speed.  Maybe the line wasnt doing doing their job as you say cause they lined up against a BETTER OL/DL, but naw that couldn't be it right?!  If you want to talk about "no class" WS head coach shoulda been ejected for gettin in one of our players faces on the field, and yes it happened. I know it hurts for you to say it, but the better team won plain and simple.
I was on the sidelines when he got in Taylor's face, happened about 10 feet away from me as a matter of fact. It was after a LATE hit WAAAY out of bounds right in front of him! And he was mouthy too. Are you trying to say that if the situation was reversed and your coach wouldn't do the EXACT same thing if we had hit Whitaker out of bounds? I could hear him on the WS sidelines, so I know he gets intense. It took away from a great game that Whitaker had (36 car. 162 yds. 4TD). That all being said, he's indeed a stud RB. Congrats to you on your win. Here's to seeing you again later on this season. It's awful hard to beat someone twice in the same year................

This year this is a whole different team. Lacey is not a weakling either, he's use to taking big hits but you have to catch him first. Alto is not the first team who hits hard and won't be the last. Did Alto play Garrison this year? WS has played them many times and they hit hard. Alto better worry about way more than Lacey if they plan on winning cause Lacey doesn't have to score for WS to win.
No Alto hasn't played Garrison this year but neither has WS.  Alto's gonna bring more to the table than Burkeville, West Hardin, and a Hemphill team team that dropped 47 on WS! Man I can't wait till tomorrow night!!!! All geeked up already!!!!
14. You know the party the Saints had a few years ago? Amateur hour compared to how Pineland would be when we got back from Dallas! Wouldn't work till the New Year!!!!!
 15.
I have seen all 3 teams in person.  West Sabine's offense is better than Alto folks and San Augustine folks are giving them credit. West Sabine is vulnerable to the pass, but their run D in incredible.  They are fast and physical. I was a WS hater till I watched them play Tenaha.  They are fast and athletic, from what I hear, they are mostly sophmores and juniors as well.  And the best athlete they will see all year, they have already seen,  that Twine kid from Hemphill. #2 from Alto, Taylor, and Hubbard are outmatched compared to Twine or number 5, 4, 32, 30, 1,  or 12 from West Sabine.  All three wowed me!  Tradition, they have never won it, but have been very deep in playoffs numerous times including semi-finals I believe.  Top 3 teams from your district will be WS, Alto, and SA in that particular order.  That being said, this is why we play the games, it could easily go several others ways, but that is my prediction.  No one knows who is the best for sure, if they think they do, they are an idiot!  Too close to call 100%
made the semis in 02. lost to Celeste at Tyler. My nephew was starting TE and LB. Best TEAM (emphasize that word) we have had since then in my opinion........
 16.
Alto is going to be a serious test for WS as will WS for Alto.  Alto will be the most athletic and complete team WS has faced in the past couple years.  Both teams will have to execute and take care of the ball to win this one.  Either way it should be a good night of football.
I agree. Will be a serious test for WS. Alto's QB and RB will be probably the most athletic we will face all season. The team that executes the best will be the victor of this one...........
 17. Yep. That's just the way we like it lol! Better double buckle they chinstraps if they come across the middle against our wrecking crew LB's......... Gonna be an epic football game no matter who wins. D1 talent all over the field on both teams. Can't wait till Friday!!!!
